My Scion TC is my baby. Toyota/Scion has taken advantage of me in the past and charged me upwards of $100 to do simple oil changes and factory scheduled maintenance and then attempt to get me to do multiple repairs that dont need done at all. Once I discovered CarX in Altoona I have never returned to Toyota. Its convenience to my home brought me in the door but what kept me coming back was Chad who runs this location. He treated me like a familiar good friend and his demeanor was friendly, motivated, and trustworthy. He even asked about my day and made me feel I was a real person not just a customer. Recently I had my 45,000 maintenance check and synthetic oil change. It was a rainy gloomy Saturday in Iowa and I was dreading the errand but as usual Chads welcoming presence and assurance that this would be quick, affordable, and easy, flipped the script on my day. Everything was done within an hour, all my fluids topped off, tires checked, and Chad assured me everything was good to go. A HUGE relief as I am a single girl who knows little about car maintenance and worry constantly about keeping my vehicle in tip-top condition. Five BIG GLOWY STARS to Chad, his shop, the boys in the garage... everything is neat, clean, bright.. but most of all I know I can trust Chad and his Squad to be professional, efficient, and take care of me honestly without trying to rip me off. As long as Chad runs this store I will never take my "baby" anywhere else!!!! He super rocks and in a world of rip-off artists and poor service - - Car-X in Altoona is a beacon of awesomeness!!

I took my car (Acura TSX) in for a quote on motor mounts expecting to pay through the nose due to the make of the vehicle. This quote though was nearly 1/2 the cost that the local Acura dealer quoted me. Not thinking anything about the price difference and taking into account that the dealer is normally higher priced I decided it was time to get the work done roughly 3 weeks later. After bringing the vehicle in, Chad the manager informed me that the quote was significantly lower than it should have been. Normally this would cause issues but Car-X in Altoona stood by the original quote and not only replaced the 2 mounts that were diagnosed but also the 3rd mount at a much lower rate than what could have been expected! Scott performed the work diligently throughout the morning and made sure that he kept me upto date on the status of the work as the hours passed by. Overall this location is top notch and will be the place I bring all of my current and future vehicles for routine service and any major issues that arise!

When ever I have any sort of problem I always run to the Altoona Car-X. Ive even been to other Car-X shops and they just arent the same as Altoona. These guys always take great care of my car. Not to mention they will simply check your car without throwing random charges at you . Ive went in many times with minor concerns and within minutes my car is looked at. If nothing is wrong, no charge. Chad is the prime example of excellent customer service. Being a young female, my personal understanding of cars is minimum. Chad will take me out in the shop and personally show me what the problem is, where it is at, and explain why the expenses will be what they are. Im saying he appropriately dumbs it down to my understanding in a positive way, which I appreciate. This makes me feel great knowing my lack of knowledge isnt being taken advantage of. Ive went to other local shops, and they are dirt compared to Altoona Car-X! Always quick, always professional, and just good vibes!

My husband and I have taken both our vehicles in for oil changes, tires and routine maintenance on up into more extensive repairs. Unexpected car expenses can be quite stressful and hard on the pocket book, but the gentlemen at the Altoona CarX have such excellent customer service that they can almost make you forget any bad news. They get you taken care of quickly, make you feel comfortable and good prices. They go the extra mile to gain your trust, even showing you first hand by taking you into the shop to point out the repairs needed and explain why. I would (and already have) recommended this place to our friends. It is our go to auto shop!

I am not from the area and I had some car issues which I thought was my wheel bearing going out. I took it into their shop for a look and they found it was simply a piece of plastic stuck in my front right tire. They then inspected my car and gave me a list of the issues along with importance all for FREE!!!! My boyfriend went to another shop in the area which they charged him $90 just to look at it! I dont normally leave reviews but this place deserves it and I would highly recommend them! Thanks Chad for not only being thorough but also for being honest! When I move here you can count on my business!

Honestly, I am the "stereotypical girl" and dont know much about cars, not even my own. Came to Carx for some routine work and had the best experience I have ever had! Chad and his team were comical and light hearted as well as efficient. They kept me informed and helped me to retain knowledge about my Kia Forte. My time here was brief as they were quick and got my vehicle in right away and made not only me but each customer that came in a priority. I will continue to return here time and time again. A big thank you to Chad and his team at the Carx in Altoona!

I went in to get a squeaky noise in my front suspension checked out and came out of there with the problem fixed for free! They had a free suspension check special going on and it turned out that something just needed a little lube. They shook out the dust and dirt, put on some lube and the sound was gone... They didnt try to charge me labor and they didnt try to tell me anything needed replaced. They created an estimate for me just so I could have a record showing what it was that they did to fix the problem. Fast, reliable and friendly service!

I have had my car serviced a few times at Altoona Car-X. The service was exceptional. Nate was able to get my car in quickly. They looked at the issues with my car and told me what they recommended getting repaired. He didnt try to sell me other services. If something else was noticed that should be repaired, he recommended the repair but didnt try to persuade me to get it done today. He gave me a good time line for when I should consider the repair. It was a clean, friendly environment. I would highly recommend their services.

I never knew I could go to a big name place for such a great price! Chad also had excellent service, was interactive with our entire family and helped us research a few other projects on our to do list. They do more than tires, brakes and oil-but their deals on oil are fantastic! :-) Chad was hospitable during our wait for the correct tires to be brought from another shop. Even being delivered across town during rush hour we were out in less than an hour! With service like that, I cant imagine I can go anywhere else now.
