I have reviewed two books, two magazines and 62 albums. And my friends very cool cut ridiculously expensive jewelry; I tell you this to communicate that I rarely do reviews, nobody pays me for my opinion, and its always MY opinion, not second hand. So when I recommend an auto service establishment I do not do so frivolously. I measure my customership since Sam (the boss) had flowing blonde locks (just kidding) but anyway a really long time over the course of three vehicles that were cared for like Sam and his staff were babysitting the kids. What do you (and me) look for in an auto service place? Excellent competence, for sure, but for us non-DIY mechanics or us non-automotive experts, honest is still foremost. Nobody likes being ripped off and nobody even likes worrying about being ripped off. hen my car is at their place or on its way there via their proprietary towing service, at least I can sleep, not worrying about the quality of the work, the time frame, (fast and as promised), or even the courtesy of the staff. The newly refinished waiting rooms (in case its a rocket speed repair-like the other day they ordered my part at 4, but I still made my 530 appointment with the new part in and the engine purring). The waiting room appears to have been done by the same stone contractor who is restoring the Washington Monument, but after more than a year, its fabulous, lets hope they do as well with the monument. I have personally sent at least 12 people to Achesons, and none of them has chased me with a hammer after they got their service. I even got a few free dinners from my satisfied but cheap friends, which is a miracle almost as great as Achesons service

From the moment I walked in the door of Acheson I knew this was going to be the place to bring my car for repairs after another driver had hit me. The staff was very friendly and attentive upon my arrival. Sam himself came out to do my estimate and the amount of care and concern he showed for my damaged car mirrored my feelings inside. A few weeks later when I showed up to have my car fixed Sam remembered me and boisterously greeted me when I walked in. He introduced me to Scott who would be working on my car and explained to him that it needed to be done "better than all of the rest." That really struck a chord with me; I knew I was leaving my vehicle in the right hands. They did a fantastic job of keeping me in the loop while they had my car. I was updated almost daily on the progress and it was finished in the amount of time I was told it would be. I ordered this car from the factory and waited for it longer than I actually had it before it was hit. The work that was done was impeccable. I cant even tell anything happened. Good customer service is hard to find these days and so hard to forget. I am not hoping to have any more body damage anytime soon but if/when I do I will be coming back to Acheson without question.

I was referred to Acheson by my best friend, who was visiting Des Moines from out of town when her air conditioning broke down in the middle of August. They took great care of her vehicle and offered her family I-Cubs tickets to enhance their visit to Des Moines! My two experiences over the last year have been equally great. They are responsive, kind, honest, and supportive. If they dont fix it, they know who does. Automobile issues are stressful, so finding a repair shop with those qualities makes things easier. Not to mention, they have a great waiting area with free wifi that can be a peaceful break from the office! I wont take my car anywhere else. Thanks, Acheson!

I have been coming to Acheson for years now and every time they meet and exceed my expectations! I was sooo tired of dealing with crooks at my local dealership and was very happy to learn that Georges (service manager) guys can make most repairs for my Audi A-6. Very knowledgeable service manager and mechanics make all the difference and they take time to explain each repair (even if you show up 10 minutes before shop is closed). Forget the local Audi dealership, Acheson is where you need to go for service of our out of warranty European car! Thanks guys!

Has anyone had a second opinion of Achesons work or diagnostics? They were going to charge me a minimum of $2500 for a repair they diagnosed inappropriately. A cracked engine block and blown head gasket are NOT the same thing. I had my car towed to another auto mechanic because it just didnt seem right. The second auto mechanic pulled the engine out, cleaned everything and found no crack in the engine block, just a blown head gasket. Thankfully I have found an honest and trustworthy mechanic to check Achesons work. Never recommending Acheson to anyone.

The old fashioned way to do business...do great work, be friendly, be honest, be reasonable...this has ALWAYS been my experience with Acheson AutoWorks! I took my Audi in the other day because some body-side molding would not stay attached and they pulled it in and in 20 minutes had it done AND wouldn’t take any money! Said, “Just come back and see us!” I had also inquired as to an exhaust issues and they referred me to an awesome guy that did $2K worth of work for $400! I love you guys and will tell everyone to come and see you!!! Thanks again!

Thanks again Acheson Auto Works for repairing my Jeep Wrangler. I have never gone through a repair on a vehicle before and the service that Acheson provided was top notch. From the moment i walked in the door Sam Acheson and the staff there made me feel comfortable and assured me my vehicle was in good hands. I hope to not go through any repairs again but if I do, Acheson Auto Works will have my business know questions asked. You guys are the definition of a great a business and I cant say thank you enough!

Ive changed my 1 star review to 5 stars, because the same day I left my negative review I got a call from Sam Acheson himself asking if his shop could make it up by fixing the problems that didnt get fixed last time I brought my car in. To my surprise it didnt cost me a dime (even though it ended up being a $900 repair) and Im very pleased with the service I received. Ill be recommending AAS to my friends and family in the area, because they really do uphold high standards for their shop!

I have taken my vehicles to Achesons for nearly a decade. It was tough for a small-town guy to find small-town service and honesty, but once i found Achesons, i havent been anywhere else. Whether my car needs service or body work, there is only one place i trust. They have always been fair, courteous, and professional. They do great work at a fair price and their body work is flawless. Dont overpay at the dealer. These guys are just as good and lots cheaper.

Acheson Auto Works is a great place to go for car maintenance in the area! When I moved to Des Moines I was a little distraught in trying to find a new place I could trust that wouldnt bleed my pockets dry! Acheson turned out to be the place! They have a shuttle if you need it and will let you know whats going on with your vehicle and lay out the services for reasonable prices. They are customer centric and Ive been happy with the service Ive received!
