Absolutely awful service all the way around. Our internet goes on and off multiple times every single day, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes longer, but rest assured it WILL go out every single day for at least a little while. Ive called the tech support people and put in work orders at least 8 times in the past few months. Each time the process and result is the same.....I set up an appointment and must wait 3-5 days at minimum until the repair person arrives. The repair person says "yes I see its not working properly, youre not pulling anywhere near the mbps that you should be". After looking around for a few minutes the story changes to "Well, everything looks fine.....I know its know working properly, but all of the equipment and connections are ok so I dont really know what to do". This has happened more than once. If you call customer service to complain or to get someone to figure out what the real problem is, guess what happens..... the tech arrives 3-5 days later, admits that its not working nearly as well as it should, but everything looks fine...... I have finally gotten worn down to the point that its not worth fighting anymore. They simply do not care at all about the customers. You can call, whine, complain, leave bad reviews, whatever....... The folks at windstream still get paid the same regardless. Ive complained all the way up the chain about the whole situation, it has done absolutely no good whatsoever. Its almost humorous at this point.....as I try to submit this bad review, Im having a hard time......The reason Im having a hard time because my internet connection is coming in and out and when I click "post" I get an error saying "no connection try again". I had dial up internet 25 years ago that was more stable than this.......

After being with them for your five years and having to bend and submit to them monopolizing my area (When I say this, I mean they are the only provider that reaches my location so, therefore, charges me a large sum of $81 for a low speed of 3mbps) I decided to write this review. My speed never matches to what I am paying for. It is constantly dropping. At one point this year I had to call them over 5 times just to get a tech out to fix a line that had grounded after a storm. Their customer support is rude, always disagreeing with me when I bring these problems to their attention and the wait time for these calls are unbearable. The last time I had to place a call, I had to wait over an hour just so they could tell me to reset my modem. "Why do you stay with them?" One may ask. As I stated previously, Windstream is the only provider that expands out in my area. They hold a contract that does not let anyone else lay wire down. Nor will Windstream update their speeds since "the population of your area is not requesting it". I have been messed over so many years with Windstream and I find myself at a loss. I dont know what to do in this situation. My family is very internet savvy and we are constantly on it. So, for the past years, I have started out only paying $54 but that has risen to $81. For 3mbps. 3MBPS. I do not and will never suggest Windstream for anyone. Please heed my warning. Stay far away. Soon as I somehow find a different provider or just move entirely to a new location, I am switching from Windstream myself. Thank you for reading

I also vote zero stars but do not have that option. Windstream is basically the only service provider in my area. Because of this, they have very little incentive to provide a quality product. For over a year I have had a loud buzzing on my telephone line. The first technician that came out to help fix it told me it was a deteriorated line, but he was only a contractor, so was not authorized to fix it .... he said he would inform Windstream. I let a month go by before calling again. The next technician worked for Windstream .... and basically did nothing ... he said he would have to check on whether there really was a deteriorated line and would have someone call me. I waited another month before calling again. The third technician also did nothing ... he told me that hed not heard anything about a deteriorated line ... but would check and have someone call me. I was never called and no one ever came back to follow up. I still have a loud buzzing on my line. I have stopped calling and will cancel my service as soon as I have another option. They also have terrible internet service. We pay for a certain speed, but get a speed that is less than 10% of what we pay for. This is in violation of FCC rules, but since we have a "best effort" with Windstream . . . they do not have to fix the problem. That is their best effort. I was told by the first technician that internet would improve if the deteriorated line was fixed. It will never be fixed and I will cancel internet service with them as soon as I have another option.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. This is the worst ISP I have ever had the deal with. Their customer service is terrible and doesnt know how to fix anything, the internet is consistently dropping out for days at a time, and when you call them if you can get a hold of someone then half the time the "call drops". My Internet has been out for two days now and every time I call them they say there is an outage in the area that is expected to be resolved at 8am or 8pm. If they dont meet one of the deadlines then they change it to the other. This has happened about 5-6 times since I have had Windstream and I have had them less than a year now. I will not recommend anyone Windstream internet. They are overpriced for what terrible service they provide and its going to constantly go out. If Windstream is your only option in your area then look into Satellite internet. At least it will be more reliable for you.

Everything about them is terrible. Internet speeds may be 1/4 of what your supposed to get if your lucky. customer service is useless. Tried calling several times to talk about it and get it fixed but no one answers or they pick the phone up and hang up. No one here cares about the quality of there service or their customers. Ive contacted the bureau of buisness, also informed of the illegal "taxes" they tack on to your bill such as, University tax, student taxes, infrastructure taxes. They have made no effort to resolve any of the issues and refuse to answer the phone. I would not recommend this service to anyone I know and they need to be straightened out. If you have a problem with my review(Windstream) please fix the issues send the tech out to put in updated equipment or whatever you need to to make this right instead of acting like gutless cowards.

Wind stream is absolutely the worst internet provider I have ever had. Ive had them before a while back maybe 2011 and they were slow and expensive. I changed my provider almost immediately. Its now 2017 and I am in need of internet and I figured Id use them. Big mistake. Ive been charged for service about a month and a half Ago. They were supposed to come set it about two weeks after I had paid. Well they apparently didnt have the equipment. So they scheduled another appointment for another two weeks. Still nothing. Rescheduled AGAIN. TODAY I WAKE UP EARLY EXCITED THAT I WILL FINALLY HAVE INTERNET AND NO ONE HAS SHOWED UP ALL DAY AND I AM SO FRUSTRATED. My work requires me to have internet and I dont. F-word you windstream. If only I could give zero stars because all they have done so far is billed my account
