Long story, but needed to explain. First time in this shop, travelling and these guys were honest with me. They couldve tried to sell me a bunch of services and they didnt. They got me in and out quickly, fixed another mechanics (different state, not midas) mistake for really cheap. If you dont want to read whole story, scroll to bottom of review. I was on my way from TX to NY and my brakes were not doing so hot. Before i left TX i had my rear drums and rotors replaces, costing almost $1000 from a small auto shop. ( i had no other option for taking my vehicle to a different shop and the owner knew that and took advantage. I know it shouldve only cost $500 tops.) Anyway the guy in TX told me my master cylinder was the reason my brakes were still soft. It was an emergency so i started driving to NY. Over the next few hundred miles my brakes started working less and less to the point where I had about id say 10% of my braking power left. I shouldve taken it in before Kentucky it was dangerous, i know. Anyway I took it to the midas shop just south of this location and they said they were full and couldnt help me. I drove up the road about 6 mi to this location and explained the situation to them. I thought i had a broken brake line, air in lines or failing master cylinder. My ignition was messed up where the key locks in if they turn it all the way back too. I informed them of this and they were very careful with it and did not lock it up. Anyway this is a 5 star shop because after only waiting 20 minutes or so, they had taken all the tires off, inspected brake lines front to back, inspected rotors and pads and found the problem. The clown who calls himself a mechanic in TX did not adjust the rear brakes after installing them. The rear brakes are drum brakes and they need to be adjusted in order for them to make contact with the drums when the pedal is pressed. So turns out since the guy in TX did not put them on right not only did he put my life and others in jeopardy, he also caused me to ruin my almost brand new rotors in the front (less than 1000 mi since i put them on). The mechanic (greg?) i think his name was informed me of the problem and said my rotors should be changed too to get rid of pulsating and have better stopping power. I explained I did not have enough $ at the moment to pay for new rotors. He said that was fine and he would make my brakes safe again and get me back on the road. They flushed my brake fluid (which needed to be done because i havent done it since I owned the car) and adjusted the brakes for free. So i went in expecting to pay minimum 100-150$ and my total was $50. the mechanic even gave me a spare lug nut key for free because the TX "mechanic" never gave me mine back, which was just a genuinely nice thing to do. The manager was a real nice guy and made sure they knew about my key. The owner of the shop stopped by before my car was done. Wish it was after so I couldve told him how much these guys helped me out. It doesnt sound like a lot but when travelling cross-country its hard to find an honest shop- especially a Chain owned store. These guys new i didnt have a lot of money and I needed to get back on the road. So, i trusted a mechanic in TX he screwed me out of a lot of money... These guys in Kentucky restored my faith in mechanics and first time customers. Thanks again guys and to anyone looking for a good shop that will be straight up with you and not just try to take your money, go here.

This place is a joke!!! I took my car over a week ago for an oil change. They rotate my tires and then it has such a vibration I can barely drive it. So I take it back. Guy says."well I probably shoulda told you that your tires are warped and not rotated them" So he shows me the tires and they did give me a good price on 2 tires so I buy them and have them put on. Again...the car is still vibrating like crazy. So again I take it back. I decide to get 2 more tires and see if that clears up the problem as they tell me it will. I did get a good deal on tires and needed them. So with 4 brand new tires, mounted and balanced I drive the car to find its still vibrating. Once again I take it back. The new manager Scott, then informs they that their tire machine is out of calibration. So once again, they take off the tires and re balance them. He tell me its all set now. Well low and behold I drive it to find the vibration is still there. I call him and he says well it has to be your tie rods and bring it back. Well I then took it to Carx on Dixie and asked them to check the tires as I have a vibration. After taking off all 4 tires and checking them, Carx mechanic tells me well each tire is out 2 and a half oz. No wonder its vibrating. They balance all 4 I leave and NO VIBRATION!!! Im now trying to get a hold of the manager at Midas to get him to reimburse me my Carx bill. I will never go MIdas again.

Ive read the other reviews on here, and I think some of them are emotional exaggerations. The fact of the matter is, just like going to a dealer, if you go to a chain store, you might pay a little more but the work is guaranteed and you can go to any midas location in the country to have any warranty work done. The guys at this shop gave me a price ($540) that was a little above a quote I had gotten from another shop to replace my front hub and bearing on a 4x4 02 silverado. When I told him another shop had said they would do it for $450, they matched the price, no questions asked. The work was done in about 90 minutes, and they reset the ABS trouble light while they had my truck. The work was quality and at a decent price. They even showed me the genuine AC Delco part so I knew what they were using. I know anyone can have a bad experience if thats what they go in expecting, but you also get what you pay for. Will billy bobs repair shop in Erlanger, KY help you out if you break down in Nebraska? I dont think so.

I have been a customer of Midas since the mid 70s. I cannot begin to say how much l appreciate the fact that Midas in Erlanger still practice top of the line "Customer Service and repairs". I have never in my 40 years had a bad experience at any Midas dealer. They are first in Customer care. First in Service. First in quality mechanics. They are courteous, knowledgeable and so far able to repair any problem l bring them....best part, usually cheaper. You have a problem. Take it to Midas....get a second opinion if you need but, you will be back....l have made believers out of many skeptics. Doesnt hurt to give them a try....they will make believers out of you...l dont have to. Their reputation will speak for itself. I know.
