I had my car towed here to be repaired after reading all the great reviews below and I was flat out lied to. I had it i on Friday and not one time did I receive a call about my vehicle. I had to call every time that I wanted to know something about my car. Not only did I call every day at 1:00, I even went to the shop to see if my car was even in the shop. I was told what was wrong and they needed to order the part and it would be $250 from the dealer and I called the dealer myself only to find the part cost $162 tax included. I was also told he did not deal with after market parts but was willing to call LKQ which nothing but a great junk yard for the part. Long story short after being told he could not find the part I called every major auto part dealer who said they could get it within a day or so. What a waste of time and money! I would not even bring my bicycle back here again. They didnt have my car in the system a formal paper for the diagnoses that I paid $50 for. I have dealt with repair shops all my life and I have never had to go through this extreme to pay someone to fix my car. If you want to be lied to and have to wait forever for your car then I would go to Lexington Transmission. To sum it all up I am out $190 and I have my car on its way to Frankfort to be repaired!

These Morons dont have a clue what theyre doing and are obviously willing to lie on official forms and make up problems with your vehicle for apparently no reason whatsoever. Went to get a vehicle safety inspection and they made sure to turn it into a beauty contest instead of focusing on safety and functionality and failed anything that had even the slightest blemish...with nothing at all to do with the safety or function of the vehicle. I feel like I was profiled and discriminated against by the staff and manager who then tried all they could to make sure my life was miserable, which I cant understand why anyone would do that or what they get out of it unless they just enjoy causing people misfortune and ripping them off. I highly recommend that anyone considering this place for any service would do well to reconsider and look around at what other options are available (trust me there are plenty).

Took our van here after a horrible experience with Powers Transmission. Lexington Transmission returned our van with a very reasonable bill of just over $500, and that included removing/reinstalling the transmission, putting in a new torque converter and clutch plates. Thats after Powers initially serviced our transmission and charged us $424 to just remove/reinstall the transmission. Lexington Transmission returned our van in perfect order, and even fixed the alignment issue that Powers transmission had stuck us with as well. Lexington Transmission far exceeded my expectations from a service perspective, and surprised me with a very fair price - I would even say it was low in my opinion. I couldnt be more pleased with them.

This is the best automobile service shop that I have ever visited! The owners are very personal, very honest, and very helpful. They have often looked at my car without charging me anything. They correctly diagnosed a serious problem concerning a whining sound that my dealership has been unable to diagnose for about a year. The prices are extremely fair and they do all kinds of work, not just transmissions. We have been extremely satisfied with the work they have done to our car. You really need to take your car in, even if its just to get an estimate/diagnosis. You wont be disappointed.

Great Service!!! Have been away from home for several months, called Troy to get a quote on brakes for my pickup truck, very straight shooter, quoted me a worst case price, along with a price based on his experience, called me after my vehicle was inspected with an exact quote. Troy told me he wouldnt be able to get me in until after the weekend, i explained that I was leaving Monday morning to go out of town, he did me a special favor and took time out of his busy schedule to squeeze my vehicle into his garage. Recommend this garage to everyone!!

Driving from Kansas to NC, our cars clutch broke down near Lexington and after getting towed (and being told this would not be a good place to take our car), we went for it and hoped for the best. Lexington Transmission, despite the tow truck drivers complaints, was incredible! They worked on our car very quickly (our wedding was a few days after and we were in a hurry to get there!), and gave us a fair price for the work that needed to be done. LT workers were also kind and helpful for the situation we found ourselves in.

I had the differential replaced on my Chevy Silverado pickup, and within 6 months, a seal went bad and it started leaking fluid again (which is why it had seized up and needed replaced before). Unfortunately I had moved to WI since the repair was completed. I called Troy and even though the parts warranty is only 90 days, Lex Transmission agreed to pay half of the repairs ($170 total bill). Now THATS great service. If I had still lived in the area he would have covered the entire cost. As it was, I was very pleased.

I was driving across the country in an old beater with a leaky transmission. Took it in to the nearest shop I could find, which lucky for me was Troys. He and the staff couldnt have been more honest and helpful. From opening early so I could bring it in, to providing me with a ride to and from the North shop to see the problem for myself, to the bill, the whole process couldnt have been better. Dont believe what they say about all repair shops; Troy proves there are still good, honest people in the business.

Had some brake work done on my car: and a FAIR price on the work that was done (some mechanics dont understand this word). He even gave me the option to take it home and drive it for a little while longer before I got the work done because my car could have gotten by for a few thousand more miles before the work was necessary (never heard that from a mechanic before). They did keep my car longer than they initially thought, but the overall experience was so positive, that I will most definitely go back.

The owner was great, super friendly. However, I dont think the owner worked on my car. Its a transmission shop and after taking my car in not only once, but twice, my transmission continued to leak. The reason: the pan still had 1/4 of a turn left on every screw and one screw hole had been stripped. This was an easy problem to diagnose with my father. We fixed the problem. But I typically pay professionals so I know the job is done right. Otherwise I would just do it myself from the beginning.

You can trust Troy. Im an out of state student at UK, my transmission blew out and had just been replaced two months earlier back home. The old shop had a warranty on it and Troy was glad to deal directly with the shop back home and make sure they paid for all of the repairs. He was also so patient with my daily call to check on my baby ( my car). If you have any car troubles, especially transmission troubles. Troy is you guy. I wony go anywhere else for future repairs in Lexington.
