I have dealt with many mechanic shops but none with the Integrity of South Mountain Auto. A resident of Middletown,who is a member of my church referred me to them. In 2016 I took my used 07 Honda Civic in and they found out the engine was blown. While many shops would have fixed it and charged me they checked the warranty out and called me to tell me to take it to a Honda dealer to have it repaired for free. Because it was purchased used and nearly 10 years old I never thought to check. They covered it for me. The only problem I have is that I live 25 minutes away from South Mountain and pass many shops on the way their. I had a shop in Frederick tow the same Civic in twice(in 2015 and 2016) to replace the starter. I only payed the first time but the starter started to fail again for a third time and I took it to the Frederick((I will not post the shop name)) shop to have it repaired to keep from being stuck somewhere waiting for a tow truck. The shop in Frederick refused to fix it till it failed all together and said they couldnt cover it under warranty. I took it to SMA and they found the part was under warranty and fixed it. I will continue to drive 25 minutes or even have it towed if needs be paying the extra towing cost. I am thankful to have a trust worthy auto shop!

After catching so many area automotive service and repair shops in the area being dishonest its a relief to finally be referred by a friend to South Mountain Auto. The staff is highly professional, honest and will take the time to answer questions and explain your repairs. The best thing is there integrity in providing you the service your vehicle needs and not trying to nickel and dime you on stuff you dont need. Most recently one of my vehicles needed recall work at a local dealership where they quickly claimed my vehicle was in need of roughly $3,900 in additional repairs. I took the vehicle to South Mountain Auto and they determined my vehicle was not in need of those repairs. Thanks, Mike Mentzer
