This place could not care less about their customers. I hired them to check perform a complete used car check on a car I was considering buying. Its like the automotive equivalent of a general inspection on a house. You wouldnt buy a house without a professional inspection, and I dont think anyone should buy a car without a professional inspection. With a bad home inspection, you probably wouldnt buy the house. Same with this. So, back to the service. I called in the inspection on this car, and when I spoke with the representative on the phone, I *INSISTED* that if they saw *ANYTHING* wrong with the car that they make a note of it and let me know because that would be MATERIAL in me deciding whether or not the car was mechanically sound for me to purchase. They gave the car a clean bill of health not making any of the obvious recommendations Id noted about the car (the windshield was cracked, and the tires were a bit bald - but thats all my untrained eye could tell was wrong). Well, I took this place to a competent repair shop after purchase, and they determined that the ENTIRE strut assembly was shot, the airbag indicator was inoperable, and the car needed approx $5K in repairs to get it to just pass an a state inspection. I was flabbergasted. I called Complete Automotive of Richmond and asked them why they hadnt caught these seriously important items. The owner just got incredibly defensive and said, "We dont like to do that to our customers. We dont want to gouge them, so we dont report everything thats a gray area safety-wise. And if you get pulled over by the state troopers, well, thats your deal." WHAT?! Talk about not caring at all about your customers. Even when I stated that Id specifically requested to know any and everything that was wrong with the car, he re-stated his original position, and defended the slip-shot workmanship they did in reviewing the car. If I had known all this stuff was wrong with the car (which they apparently knew, but purposefully withheld from me), I never would have bought it. Do they have some legal liability in all of this? Time will tell, but I would never give these jokers another penny, and I would encourage EVERYONE to take their business elsewhere. BUYER BEWARE!! Grade: F. UPDATE (5Mar11): I just saw their website, and one part of it reads "100% money back if not completely satisfied (No Hassle Guarantee)". What a lie! Not only were they completely hostile about my problem, they REFUSED to give me a refund, and I had to go straight to my bank to get them to reverse the charges. In the end I got my money back, but it was in spite of them, not because of them. Theyll do and say anything to suck your money from you. Check their BBB status before going to these rip off artists!

Ruined my Jeep. took it back 5 times for them to fix what they did and was told each time it was fine, they couldnt find anything wrong. Pearson found everything wrong that I tried to tell these so called mechanics about, they either couldnt fix a tricycle or thought because Im a woman Im stupid. Ive been back and forth with Tim Hopkins for over a year. I paid $1,500 for a front differential, they took good parts off replaced them with bad parts, put a differential that was worse than the one I had on there originally, lied about what they did to my jeep, got their attorney to contact me to bully me into leaving them alone because I wanted my money back. They did over $3,000 worth of damage to my jeep and refuse to pay for it. Offered to pay for some of the repair after Pearson provided documentation backing up my claims but ONLY if I released them from ALL the damage they caused. Because I wouldnt release them from paying for all the damage they did, they refused to pay one penny. Had the nerve to tell me they would fix it after telling me for a year and looking at it 5 times that nothing was wrong with the work they did and it all met specs. Would you let a place that ruined your vehicle, lied about what they did to it, admittedly couldnt find anything wrong with it after looking at it and driving 5 times have another shot at your vehicle? Tim Hopkins owes me over $3,000 to repair the damage his shop did to my jeep and WILL NOT PAY it. Do NOT go here. Check out their other reviews, not the "tire" reviews, but "repair" reviews. Check out the complaints with the BBB and the AG. Read what theyve done to people and how unethical they are and have no regard for the safety of their customers or others on the road proven by the way they take your money, ruin your vehicle and refuse to pay for it. If Tim would like to spew some type of lying response to this, Ill be happy to provide my email exchanges with Tim, the owner and his attorney to anyone who asks proving how these people operate and have trouble with the truth and lack integrity and ethics.

My transmission went out while I was driving down Broad St. I remembered that there was a mechanic close to where I was. I had to pull off into a couple of parking lots and turn my truck off the restart it to get it to move. Luckily I managed to get off Broad St and for the most part Coasted in to Complete Automotive. Tim was working the desk, and I told him what was going on with my truck. They ran a diagnostic on the truck and said that it had gone into a "safe mode." This would cause me to shut it off and restart it periodically so I wouldnt cause more damage. (hopefully) The end result was that it seamed that my pump in my transmission had gone out. It was a mechanical failure. They could get a referb. from GMC or get one from a Junk yard that they used and would have a warranty of 3 years with Unlimited miles. They gave me plenty of time to think it over. (this happened on a Thursday afternoon) I called several other places in town and got quotes for refurbished and rebuilding my transmission. By Monday, I had decided to go with getting mine rebuilt and I called to tell them that I was going to have it rebuilt. Tim asked if he could get the price down would I consider going with the junk yard one? I asked him to see what he could do. He called me back and got it down to higher end of the rebuilds price. Said to think it over. I came in on Tuesday and told them that I had decided to go with the rebuild. He understood. On Thursday while I waited on my ride, several customers came in and I didnt see anyone getting upset when they picked up their vehicle. Even though I decided to have the work done some where else, Tim and his crew seemed to be very polite and professional. The facility was VERY clean. From showroom, restroom and shop area. If I had to recommend a general service mechanic in the West End I would say check them out. They tried to work with me.
