It was right before the Christmas Holiday and I was having problems with my brakes on my Daddys 1999 olds intrigue. I knew the car was old and probably time to go to the car heaven with my father. But I took a chance on Preferred Automotive because of the on-line reviews. I have been to other places and they wanted to charge me a arm and both legs to repair my car. The other places were never honest with me and only wanted my money to repair the car regardless of the condition. So I called preferred automotive and explain my brake problem and told Gary this was my fathers car and meant a lot to me and made my appointment for the next day. I got to the place a little early and Tod (hopefully I got the name right)was were there with a morning smile. He initially was going to use my car to drive to the metro for a test drive but realized the brake situation was not safe and took me to the metro in his truck and explain the process. Later that day they called and realizing it was my fathers car they were very gentle in explaining the problem and said it was time to let it go. My heart stop a bit but I truly respect them for their honesty. They did not try and rip me off or fix a problem that should not have been fixed. Through out the conversation they kept re assuring how they understood the sentimental value but safety and unnecessary repairs was their main concern. Tod and Gary offered up many options on how to deal with the situation and was very compassionate about circumstances. I really appreciate Preferred Automotive for their compassion and concern for their customers. This is not something you see in auto repair shops. They usually just want your money. It is a family own business that recognizes the importance of family and that made it easy for me to let my fathers car go to it final resting place. When I get my next vehicle they will definitely be my auto repair shop!!!! Thanks Preferred Automotive and many blessings to the crew and the organization. Your honesty will take you far!!!!

October 2012 Simply the Best Experts in their Field! Customer service is exemplar. I’ve known Gary and Mike since they were tikes in the Cub Scouts. And I’ll tell you, Mike was not always the biggest boy in their family, just the toughest! At the counter, they always take time to make sure things are fully explained to their customers. If they find any issues with your car, safety or otherwise; you can expect to be treated very fair and courteously, with an honest assessment of what needs to be done. There is a reason their mechanics are all ASE Certified and have stayed with the Company for years. They know how important people are and how important cars are to their families. They will keep you going. I can always trust Gary and Mike to give me honest, trustworthy and reputable advice.. I’ve worked on my own cars since a teenager, so I am very meticulous about who works on my car. I’ve taken my cars to Preferred for years. I live in Florida now, but I still call on them from time to time to say hi or ask for advice with my car. I even took my car there for a repair I knew I needed, 1100 miles away because I knew I could trust the work would be done right. For a short time, I even had the opportunity to work with them. What a great experience! Best fellas you’d want to work with in a shop environment! They know their stuff and taught me among many other things to; stay out harms way, don’t get hurt and stay out their tool box! I have fond admiration and respect for their ethics and the way the cars, customers and employees are always treated. With experiences from "Both Sides of the Counter"; without hesitation, I would recommend Preferred. They treat you and your car like youre part of the family. If you want cheap, go to Pep Boyz. If you want top notch Mechanics working on your car, and the work done right, tell em’ “TomS says Hi”! Be Safe! Tom S Cape Coral, FL

Preferred Automotive has handled all of my car maintenance and repair for 22 years. A coworker originally referred me to them, and I am truly grateful to her for that. As a single woman who is not knowledgeable about the technical aspects of cars, I do not have to worry because I know that Gary and Mike, and now also Sean, will always treat me with honesty and respect. With previous auto shops that I had used, I could never be sure that they were not taking advantage of my lack of technical knowledge to perform unnecessary repairs or to overcharge me. Gary and Mike run a family business and have always explained any work which needed to be done in detail in advance and given me all the possible options for maintenance or repair. I come in every three months for a lube, oil, and filter change, and they have all the data in their records concerning which maintenance items are due at that time. Because my car is a 1990 Honda Accord, although with only 73,000 mileage, it doesnt have some of the most recent computer diagnostic tools available. Nonetheless, they take the time necessary to do a quality job and do it right the first time. If I had been having my Honda serviced by another shop, I probably would have had to replace it several years ago. That in itself is a testament to their excellent, caring, and professional work. With Gary, Mike, and Sean, you are treated more like a family member than a customer. If repairs or maintenance are expected to take more time than usual, they offer to drive me home since I live approximately two miles from their shop and pick me up when my car is ready. They even remember to ask about my pets. What other automotive shop would remember and care enough to do that?

Just moved to the area recently and since we live in an apartment and park in a garage, I am unable to do any of my own basic auto care. Fortuitously we live just a couple minutes drive from Preferred Automotive. All the online reviews were outstanding so I was quite comfortable going here. Just had the oil changed, so nothing major, but I got a good feeling these were honest folks. They also gave me a helpful list of other things my car might need done, since we had purchased it used and didnt have a maintenance history, and prioritized them so we would know which were more important. But, unlike other mechanics, there was no pressure or guilt and they didnt try to make me feel like my car would explode tomorrow if I didnt get all this work done immediately. But, what struck me most is how they helped another customer. An elderly lady brought her car in because her brakes were squealing and she evidently wanted a brake job. Well, they tested the brakes and checked them over and came back to the tell the lady that they couldnt hear a squeaking noise. He went further to tell her that he looked at her brakes they had plenty of wear left, so he didnt want to replace them. Most mechanics would have just changed the brakes without asking questions. Honest. I will definitely be returning here for all of our future auto repair needs.
