My favorite aspect of this place is the gentleman that runs the front. Hes super polite, helpful and never rushes you off the phone. Further he makes every effort to fit you in or be realistic on when he can take a look at your car. He never says, "bring it down well take a look" and then like 3 hours later youve heard nothing. He gives good time estimates and then keeps you apprised of the analysis and repair. I also really like that he will send you away. I had a thermostat issue that had an intermittent warning light. He clearly explained that VAG COM results indicating although sometimes registering out of spec it doesnt mean the water pump (connected to thermostat) must be replaced. You can absolutely drive it until you have an issue. I never had an issue and for 5 years it was fine including passing emissions that year w/o the light on. Id still be rollin if the light didnt stay on and I had to get the regular emissions done. I took it in and he knocked it out for me. I hate the laurel VW Dealership. Im so glad I have this place who has fair prices and great service and they back it up. UPDATE: I had a problem with my sunroof and called to ask if they do the work. Gentleman said they do but also gave me the name of a Sun Roof specialty shop named Car Care Customs that I could consider.... WOW!. Ive referred this place to multiple friends with VWs - just awesome.

VWs, unfortunately, require specialized care...and its not cheap. I found Wheaton Service Center through its many, many positive reviews. They have always been able to work on my car when I need them to. They always fix my car in a timely fashion. Most importantly, Ive never felt that I was paying for unnecessary work or been treated in a dishonest fashion. Look, my father owned and operated a repair shop in the NY/NJ area. I grew up around it. I know how they tend to operate: if they think they can get a few extra bucks from you or convince you that you need work done that you really dont, they will. Thats the way my father ran his shop, and thats the way his competitors (and friends) ran theirs. Ive never felt that Wheaton Service Center has taken advantage of me or charged me for work I didnt need. In fact, they are pretty straightforward with, "Well, this is something you need right now, but this is something that can wait." On my limited budget, thats always a plus. An honest repair shop and they do great work. Why go anywhere else?

This is hands down the best possible place to have a Volkswagen serviced and cared for in the DMV. Tom is one of my favorite people in the world, and not just because he extends the life of my vehicle every time he works on it. The whole team is friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and kind. You simply cannot find a better place to take care of your vehicle. Tom has personally spent 30 minutes or more explaining in detail (complete with printed diagrams of my engines interior!!!) the exact issues that have arisen with my car in the past, and how exactly the process of repair would progress. Bring your vehicle to Wheaton Service Center and know that you are receiving the best possible service at the best possible prices.

I had my first experience with Wheaton Service Center earlier this week, and it was wonderful. Not only did they explain what was wrong, they also explained the risks involved with my repair. They went out of their way to find the part needed to install the same day AND it cost no more than getting the repair done at any national brand service center -- except I had genuine VW parts, and not junk! I will not hesitate to take my Jetta back here for TLC -- my only regret is that I did not do so sooner!

The ONLY place I took my 2001 VW Jetta wagon since I moved to the DC area in 2006. I trust them implicitly. They explain the problems and repairs clearly. They dont try to upsell you on repairs you dont need (which happened at dealers.) Now I take my 2011 Audi A4 there as well. Recently the dealer quoted me $932 for rear brake pads and rotors (but if pads are 4 mm thick still, why do I need new rotors?) Plus $200 for an alignment. I immediately called Tom to schedule the service with him instead.

At one time, almost every member of my family drove a VW and Tom was the only guy we went to! He helped us sell, buy, and maintain our vehicles for years, and I couldnt be more grateful. Reputable, transparent, and a little quirky - couldnt ask for more! You wont go wrong with Wheaton Service Center.

These guys know Volkswagens. They work fast, prices are fair, and theyre honest. The took the time to explain how the entire exhaust system works and why I DIDNT need to replace a part they found was faulty. Cant say Ive had another shop do that before.

These guys know Volkswagens. Theyve been around a long time and they are very friendly and courteous. The prices are also very reasonable. If you have a VW, this is the best place to take your vehicle.

I have been taking my 2006 GTI here for almost 5 years. 130,000 miles and still going strong. This shop has always done a fantastic job of diagnosing problems and they provide fair prices.
