I would NOT recommend that anyone use this franchise of 2 Men & a Truck. I have had previous experiences with this company with no complaints, but DO NOT USE THE TROY FRANCHISE!!! I moved in early July using 2 Men & a Truck – Troy franchise (1250 Rankin Dr, Troy, MI 48083). On the move day the 3 movers showed up a little late to assess the items to be moved. About ½ hour later the local manager showed up and looked at all out items and indicated that the team should be able to move all the items in 2 loads, at worse 3. While the guys were loading the first haul, we made a comment that more could fit on the truck, but were told to mind our own business, they have been doing this for years, let them do their job. We should have realized that after the 2nd load (this load also could have been optimized, but we said nothing), that this was going to be a long day. It was already a drizzly humid day, so the weather as well as the guys not working well with us should have been an indication, but I was still holding out that we would move everything in the 3rd load. When we got back for the 3rd load, the guys haphazardly loaded the truck and (while the truck was so poorly packed, they could have easily fit everything in that load), they indicated that they could not fit any more and that this was their last load, they had another job to get to. This was along with the comment that everything would not fit in the new house or garage, so they were not going to move it. I had an emotional breakdown at this point. And my partner called the main office. After some (not very pleasant) ‘discussion’ with the main office, the team agreed that they would return for a 4th load to pick up the remaining items. Keep in mind, it was approaching rush hour, and were paying these guys by the hour, so another load over rush hour would easily add 2 hours onto the move charge (which it did). So be it, I said, I need everything moved out of the rental house and into our new purchased house today, no ifs, ands, or buts. However, in the process of being told to do this, they decided that they would stack the items in the garage so haphazardly, that I could not unload and organize the items by myself and needed help. They also thought it was a ‘cool idea’ to put our living room couch on the bottom of the stack IN THE GARAGE!! After complaining about this, the manager agreed to send over a couple of guys the following weekend to help me unload the garage, put the couch in the house, and reload the garage so everything could fit WHICH IT DID. But it was already too late (as I was told) to file a complaint that the couch back (material) was ripped and that 3 items of furniture were scratched pretty bad, since the time limit to file this type of damage complaint is 7 days from the move date, and this was after 7 days. So they did nothing. I would NOT recommend that anyone use this franchise of 2 Men & a Truck. I have had previous experiences with this company with no complaints, but DO NOT USE THE TROY FRANCHISE!!!

I had a terrible experience with this company. Mary Fisher is a rude, lying, and incompetent person that seems to hate her job. From the beginning, in my dealings with her, her communication with my wife and I was abysmal. The 2 young movers they brought to us were nice, but they did damage a few items in our home. Further complicating things was the fact that when I set up the move, the person (Stephanie) told me the movers could help us pack as long as we knew wed pay by the hour. That was fine with me. I was paying them to handle this move. She wanted to make it seem like she was doing me a favor so I wouldnt ring up a $3,000 moving bill, but I was more than willing to pay that much for someone else to handle this. When the day of the move arrived, Mary Fisher, the incompetent rude liar, told us we werent prepared and postponed our move for 24 hours. This caused my wife and I to scramble around to find someone to watch our 6-week old for the day while we packed everything. On the day the movers came back, Mary and I talked about the fact that having someone like a consultant come out and help first-time movers would benefit both the customer and company. She actually agreed with me on that point. That was only positive interaction I had with Mary. From there, the movers promised me they wouldnt charge me for the boxes we had to get from this company that we needed to pack. Mary Fisher, the incompetent rude liar told me I was still being charged. The funny thing about all of this is, the movers told me they think it would be a good idea for a consultant to come out and help first-time movers get an understanding of everything that needs to happen. They told me it would make their job easier. In an unsolicited fashion, they also told me they hate working for Mary Fisher and used a couple very unkind words to describe her. I can now see why they used the words they did to describe her. I will never use this company again and I implore you to not use them as well.

I could not imagine a worse moving company to spend your money with. I have moved several times over the past few years for my job and have used other companies, all of which were good experiences. Two Men and a Truck out of Troy, MI was the complete opposite. Beyond the fact the movers asked for Red Bull to try to get some energy to move in a semi quick manner(not sure if hung over or just very tired because it was at 8:00 A.M.), they also damaged my home in multiple places and did not report any of it. I had to bring it to their attention before they agreed to document the damages. From that point on it only got worse. The follow up with management to try to get the damages repaired was almost non-existent and took numerous phone calls and emails to even get a response. Once we finally got something set up to have the repairs done we then had to take off work numerous days to meet the repair vendor they use and accommodate his schedule, which is 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday. If you’re like most people that’s when you’re at your workplace and it’s not always easy to just take time off work and lose wages in order to accommodate repair for a service you paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars for. When I asked the “manager” Mary Fisher about some type of compensation for the experience she basically said “well the move could have taken 6 hours and we did it in 4 so sorry about your luck.” That was the response after weeks of trying to get some type of follow up and losing wages and time to accommodate their company’s mistakes. My move was performed nearly a month ago and still don’t have drywall repairs completed and have yet to have my light fixture repaired as well. This company is horrible and I would strongly recommend using someone else.
