I wish there was a way to give them no stars. I have been to this post office 2 times since Ive moved to Minnesota and they were all terrible experiences. I have never seen customer service be so terrible. I have worked in customer service for 7 years now and would never let any of my employees treat a customer the way they do. The 1st time I visited this post office the horrible woman behind the counter literally told me to stand in the corner while she helped the customers behind me. WHO DOES THAT!? She seemed annoyed at the fact that I would dare to enter the post office and ask a question about sending a package. In my most recent visit, I walked in and the male worker didnt even ask what he could help me with. He looked up from the customer he was attending to and said "you have to leave immediately we are closed. Come back in 30 minutes." I did not realize that in order to work at a post office you needed to have an extensive background in being a horrible, inconsiderate, and offensive human being. I will no long use this post office, even though it is a 5 minute commute from my place of business. Work on your customer service skills Hamel Post office, or should I say learn the basics of customer service.

They have never screwed up anything, that being said, every single time I go in there and ask a question they literally look as if I am asking them to jump off a bridge. Both the male and female worker have been just not friendly in any way and I really wish going to the post office did not involve feeling like a hassle. I have left two Google reviews in my life. This needed it. Today I am updating this because I tried to simply call to come pick up a package that my tracking numbers shows has arrived. I call to find they have no tracking system so not only does it look old fashioned but it is. They are overwhelmed and only have two people working so if you ask anything they act like they are breaking their back to help you. The lady has to dig through a stack of boxes to try to find the package, with no luck so now I need to wait two days because there is no mail ok thanksgiving. Very sad they do not have a better system in 2015

I wanted to set an appointment for a passport, so I called the Hamel post office roughly 20 times on Tuesday and it was busy every time. I drove to the post office and was told by one of the trolls that i needed a slip of paper and that I needed to call to schedule the appointment. I told him i called a bunch of times with no luck. I asked the guy directly what time should I call, he said "dont call in the morning, call after noon". I called the next day which was Wednesday and again the phone was busy all day... I drove in and of course that same guy told me the schedule was full and he "had something to do in the back office" bottom line if you like wasting time go to this post office.... BOTH THE POST MASTER AND THE WORKERS HATE WORKING HERE, THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH NICER SMARTER PEOPLE!

Worst experience at any post office Ive ever had. We just moved to the area and I stopped by to purchase stamps. There was no line, however, I felt like I should have apologized for taking up the womans time behind the counter. She did not have a cheerful disposition by any stretch. I have a high respect for the job as my brother is a postal worker. I rarely rate services unless it is extra good or really bad. It looks like other comments are similar. It was a zero star-rated experience.

My family and I lived in Hamel, Minnesota, for over a dozen years. During that time, we frequently visited the Hamel post office for stamps or to drop off packages. The staff were always knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and kind. And, may I mention our home Letter Carrier, Vicki… if the USPS saw how she took the "extra measures" to please her customers, they would have not only given her a raise, but also, "cloned" her. She is greatly missed! Another satisfied USPS homeowner, Don Bania

Sorry to say but this post office is going downhill. They missed a package on a truck, and basically said too bad it will have to be tomorrow. My grandfather, among other relatives as well, was a postmaster. He would have never let this happen, or at least if it did- would make it right. Not make you feel like you have inconvenienced them. When in fact it was their mistake. Service needs to improve, and I will never bother using them for package deliveries again.

There are a lot of negative reviews, but Ive had nothing but a positive experience here. The USPS has been intentionally stunted and defunded by both political parties and as such most Post Offices cant fund a full front staff. If the Bush-era law about fully funding retirement liabilities, an active act of sabotage against the USPS, we would have more staff and better customer experience like we used to. Given all this, the staff do the best they can.

Do not let them to take your US passport picture, it felt like they were doing my mugshot and I was some kind of fugitive for not having the photo done beforehand; the photo came out awful and I regret the whole experience of getting my US passport appointment in there. One of the ladies is so not customer oriented and exudes negativity, but the other, her name starts with an M was friendly and helpful.

Please avoid at all costs. I have never had to deal with a worse mail service. Such rude service. It make me sad for anyone who has come across this post office. The post master is rude and demeans customers. The other staff looks like robots...im sure its because they are scared to work for her. Take all these negative reviews seriously...too bad the government cant come in and help them out.

I never leave reviews but just had to after my experiences with this post office. Every time Ive had to go there the wait has been over 10 minutes and this last time it was 30. There was another person working and she made no effort to come and help the growing line behind me and both seemed annoyed that we were there (I had my children with me).

Rudest "Post Master" ever. The woman should actually pursue a career in debt collection or something similar that requires no customer service skills... If you hate your job so much, find something else to do. So rude every time... I manage a business in Hamel, but drive to Plymouth to avoid this woman and her joke of a Post Office.

Neighborhood Postal Carriers --> Awesome!! BUT -- Rude and unhelpful in the office. Worst customer service I have ever experienced anywhere we have lived. Post Mistress has been asked to solve several problems with our neighborhood PO box and has failed. We need someone in there that actually cares about quality service.

Service was prompt but poor (over phone). I never did get to schedule my passport date and the person I was speaking with put me on hold as I was disconnected seconds later
