I have been using the AAMCO in Hopkins for about a year now - I was referred to this location by my extended warranty company. I know my way around the basics of a vehicle and maintenance. I can honestly say that I will never go to another mechanic. Not only is the staff friendly but they are trustworthy and honest. The rates are extremely reasonable and they will only fix or replace items on your vehicle that need it. I have NEVER been sold a service I didnt need and Ive never been charged to run a code or just have the vehicle checked out. These guys really take care of their customers! I have always been provided a transparent and detailed invoice, the estimates have always been accurate (and dont magically change once the work has been done), and the work is always completed on time. Even when they are busy, theyve always made time to look at my car or sneak me in for an oil change. They specialize in transmissions, but AAMCO has never had any problems fixing anything else thrown their way and I will only use them for my scheduled maintenance. I cant say enough good things about this auto repair shop!

Jared at Aamco is a real professional. Ive dealt with him both on a wholesale and retail level and in all dealings found the shop and him knowledgeable, easy to work with, and very reasonable on the pocket book. I"ve had two to three transmissions rebuilt here and have had brilliant follow up on each occasion and a no hassles type approach to dealing with any warranty issues. On one of the units it was out of warranty by a decent amount of time and Jared/Aamco went above and beyond to take care of me which you dont find at many repair facilities anymore. I would and easily do recommend this shop for all your major driveline issues and know they do general service also which Im sure is top notch. Ive dealt with other transmission shops in the the past and none have come close to their speed, quality, and ease of use. A+ in my book!!!!!

They fixed my Dodge Dakota, I had brought it to another mechanic and a dealer to fix the problem and neither one could figure it out. These guys did though! Jared had a good idea where to start after I explained the problems I was having. They even waived the initial diagnostic test fee because I was a new customer. Turned out I had a bad cap and rotor which had caused my brand new spark plugs to go bad along with the O2 censor. They replaced the cap& rotor, spark plugs, o2 censor and the negative battery cable for $500. Which is reasonable for what mechanics charge in this area. (I came from a small town where labor is cheaper) anyone with a truck acting funny should take it here, Jared is worth his weight in gold with his truck knowledge!

An Aamco service rep repeatedly insulted me at my doorstep for rudely rejecting the $50 service punchcard he was pushing during a dinner hour door to door sales trip through my St. Louis Park, MN neighborhood. As I was setting the table to have dinner with my extended family and my wife fed our infant this gentlemen brazenly appeared at our door with a sales pitch. I told him I would not take his offer because he was putting me on the spot to make a decision at which point he took offense and argued with me. He was pushy, accusatory, and condescending, exactly what one should avoid from any services professional. I will never take a vehicle there, no price makes this service reasonable.

I have called multiple days during business hours with no answer and left a message with no callback even after waiting 10 days for a response. I was just looking for a quote for some work to be done, something that would probably take 30 seconds to answer. This is very unprofessional and I will never consider this shop again. Instead Im going to another shop that gives a discount for Costco members (and has a better rating).

Not very often that you run across people like Jared, store manager. Helped me through a difficult situation with my warranty company even though he knew he wasnt likely getting the work. Ill take all my future transmission/transfer case/etc work to Jared!

Initially I took my Cadi CTS to Key in Edina. After one misdiagnosis & over charge from Key Cadillac I started to bring my car to Jared. He has found and fixed every issue (electrical and simple) at a much better price. Great guy and mechanic.
