Took my bmw in for a diagnostic, they diagnosed it with bent exhaust valves and wanted $ 5 k. I was charged $ 380 or in that balpark. I took it to another mechanic, they diagnosed it for free and said something got into the cylinder, said it would be pointless to fix and lined me up with a new motor for $ 3800, and free diagnostic. I wont be going to stellar again for a $ 380 diagnostic and thank god i didnt have them fix the engine. Feeling taken after spening all that on a diagnostic for sure. Also please dont offer me coffee as all i want is a refund. update, the used motor they put in runs like a champ, Id hate to think how much stellar would have charged me for a motor replacement after spending $ 380 just for a diagnostic. That price point is beyond outrageous in my opinioni and im still smarting over paying that much! 2nd update March 1, 2016: BMW running great with the new/used motor, still wondering why Tim had concerns, my opinion is he overcharges, I havent forgotten the $ 380 I was charged just for a diagnostic and Ive been telling everyone I know with a foreign or domestic place to avoid stellar autoworks! 3rd update March 21 2016. The more I look back at my experience with stellar the worse I feel. I dont understand why a diagnostic is $ 380.00. That is insane. After reading other reviews I very much regret taking my car here. Hearing Tim offer me coffee makes me angry. Why would anyone want coffee with their auto mechanic who they have a disagreement with? In my opinion any reasonable shop or business would reimburse half of the cost when there is a fundamental difference of opinion in how the transaction went. This transaction left me with a bad taste in my mouth and it is 3 months later.

RIP OFF ARTISTS! I brought my Infiniti truck in for a full assessment of what was wrong with my vehicle, and had a long list of items I wanted checked, and fixed as well which included checking my transmission. They found my transmission fluid was 3 quarts low, but did not bother to find out why it was leaking. I was told that my transmission now shifted fine and there were no problems, and I left there with a 2 grand bill for my trunk actuator (which they tried to charge me 15% above dealer retail price before I caught them by calling Infiniti dealer), and emergency brake pads. Mind you I wanted a full assessment so I could know if I should sell the truck or not; and 4 months and less than 1,000 miles later on my truck and this is what is now wrong with it...my transmission has gone out completely ($5k), my front U-Joint on my drive-shaft is so bad its not safe to drive which again was like that when I brought to stellar and didnt happen in 4 months (200$), gauge cluster needs replacement (800$), power steering pump lines needs replacement (350$), license plate light assembly is out (200$). The list goes on with what Stellar did not find when they did there sub-par inspection of my vehicle. They even let me leave with my front headlight out, and they had ample time to fix as they had it for a week at least. Bottom line, they let me leave with a vehicle that was totally not safe to drive, with a bunch of problems theyre mechanics did not have the experience, or take the time to diagnose. Owner Tim offered me 2k if I would bring back to Stellar for repairs, which I declined as his estimate was 2 grand above even the dealership price! NEVER TRUST THEM!

Very dishonest people, who not only will gouge you for prices, they will miss major problems or overlook them so you will bring it back for service. Owner Tim does not stand behind there work at all, and Justin is the other owner who is non existent. Guarantee that if you double check the price quoutes for repairs, that it will be higher than dealership prices, and not be certified. Also, be wary of any positive reviews for this company that are short and from anonymous users, as they are likely fake reviews done by people who work for, or are affiliated with Stellar. Save yourself thousands in future repairs, and grief of dealing with an owner who will send you down the road with a thousand dollar bill in a vehicle that is not safe for the road. This is how they do business, and a cup of coffee isnt a solution by any means (Tims idea of doing the right thing. Also, I recommend anyone who was put in a horrible position by this company, to immediately speak with a lawyer or file a complaint with the better business bureau. This business needs to be shut down. Worst shop I have ever dealt with.

I would never go anywhere else but Stellar. As far as Im concerned, every other Audi repair place is a ripoff waiting to happen. These guys are honest, straightforward and will never overcharge or try to get you to make repairs you dont need. They are the best on the Twin Cities. Period. I know a few very good mechanics in this town who do not work on Audi, Porsche, etc. and they say, "Bring it to Stellar. They know what they are doing. Yes, you can bring it to a dealer and they also know what they are doing -- but you will pay twice as much." PS. They even offered to pick up my car, fix it and drop it back off to me because I couldnt get another person to drive with me to drop it off. PPS. Any time they have had to keep the car for multiple days, they have given me a loaner so I am not stuck without a car.

My friend has his 911 serviced at Stellar, he is the guy that researches everything and he told me the best place to have my Cayenne serviced is Stellar and that I can trust my Porsche with Tim. I believe that I am getting better service at Stellar than I did at the dealership, not that they weren’t great as well, but I feel that the personal relationship of a smaller shop with knowledgeable mechanics who truly care about each customer and their vehicles counts for 5 stars in my book. 3/29/16 Brought my Volvo in for a suspension checkup the mechanics were very thorough and inspected the entire undercarriage. They reported the conditions of the suspension system and spotted a leak which will need repair. Thankfully the extra attention to detail will keep my vehicle in perfect working order. 5 stars again!

Ive brought multiple vehicles to these guys (i.e., Audis, Mitsubishi, Mercury, and a couple others). Ive had all good experiences with quality and service. Its nice working with guys who explain the problems clearly, make recommendations, costs are always at the ready, and are techno saavy--using the latest, high-end tools including internet accessed information. They also seem to enjoy their job. We have purchased two vehicles (almost three) with their help and recommendations. Lastly, they seem to work well with my wifes cars and personality, which for me is hard to do. :-) Anyway, thanks for the solid work!

A rare find in the service world of automobiles. This shop not only diagnosed problems but also redirected their efforts to what was needed to be done rather than just blindly doing what I anticipated was required. The job was done swiftly and accurately and also was done on time. Free loaner cars are a great advantage here also, but one must schedule the car ahead of time. I will be back for future service work. If you want to get your car "going", this is the place to stop. I recommend them very highly even with my first visit!
