Dropped off my 2003 Volvo to check out gas smell and occasional RPM gallop. The guy didnt give any price, or have me sign anything and said "Ill call you before I spend your money." Later I get a call telling me there are 2 issues that will cost about $2,000. I said we didnt want to put that into it. Then the owner calls back and tells me he knows these cars well. Says he drives a similar one with "engine lights on for years with no problem. Then he offers me $400 for the car, minus the $250 I owe him for the "diagnostics", basically researching 2 problems he knows is not worth fixing? I recommend you avoid them!

Great work, Great value!! I have an older model 1996 Light SUV and the guys and gals at Hopkins Tire and Auto Service have it in tip-top shape! I have had the following items on the car fixed: muffler, fuel leak, brake line, and each repair was done quickly and effectively, and often times at half the cost of other estimates! Easily accessible from downtown via public transit if you have to leave your vehicle for repairs or maintenance. Highly recommended, trustworthy, great workmanship. Thanks Hopkins Tire and Auto for keeping my car safe and on the road for a fair price!

Great service and very knowledgeable. My 2005 Suburban had been to another place to fix the heat/AC three times and at a cost of a few thousand dollars and the problem was never fixed. Gary had the car for a short period of time and solved the problem! They are honest and friendly. The price was very reasonable and I plan to return when other issues come up with my vehicles. Thanks! It is a huge relief to finally get the problem fixed without the run-around!

When I had just moved into the area, I took my car here after reading a review for them. My windshield wiper fluid had apparently frozen :) but I had no idea that was the problem. They figured it out, thawed my car, checked for leaks and refilled it with proper MN fluid and sent me on my way for little more than the price of the fluid itself. They also gave me a light-hearted advice about taking care of my car in the cold. Thanks!

I feel compelled to leave a review after having selected them based on their high rating. I brought my car in for some brake work. The owner quoted me at $200 over the phone and I agreed. During servicing the mechanic broke another brake line that needed to repaired. When I finally get my bill the quote DOUBLED to $400. I shouldnt have had to pay for damages caused by them. Period.

Hopkins Tire and Auto has been fixing all my vehicles from the day they opened. They have never done me wrong. This is the only place I have my vehicles done and I always will until I’m dead or have moved away. However, you know I just might come back from wherever I go, just to have them service my vehicles anyway. Yes, they are that good.

1. There is a woman working here, which is awesome. 2. She asked me if I wanted to see what was going on with my car, which no one has really ever done and I appreciate! 3. I was helped right away and, since it ended up being a really simple fix, they sent me on my way at no charge. I will be a return customer for sure.

Honorable and Trustworthy. 15 years ago my car broke down the day before my wedding. One of the guys came in on his day off - for no extra charge- to fix it so my husband and i would have it for our honeymoon. Even now that we have moved farther away from them we still drive our vehicles back to get them worked on.

Needed an oil change, new brake pads, new switch for the fan, and a tire rotation. They were able to see me same day, bright and early in the morning. Did an amazing job with everything and didnt even charge me for the tire rotation. Will definitely be going to these guys in the future.
