BAIT AND SWITCH WARNING!!!!! I hired Local Motion to load my belongings into a Pack Rat cube. While making my arrangements with their sales team, I was told that if I purchased all the supplies, the team would wrap all of my belongings for me. The price was fair and I reserved 3 movers to come help me. On the day of my move, I only had a team of 2. I pointed out to them where the wrapping materials were and they acknowledged the materials and the proceeded to load the cube. I thought it was strange that they were not wrapping anything but thought they were maybe wrapping the items downstairs so it was easier to bring down. After about a half an hour, I asked to confirm that they were in fact wrapping my belongings to which they said, "no, we do not do that". I was confused as I was specifically told they would. I called Local Motion to speak with the gentleman that handled my move and told him they were not wrapping my items and that I only had 2 out of the 3 man crew I requested. He stated that he would call dispatch to have them phone the movers regarding wrapping my belongings as well as to find out what happened to the 3rd guy and he would call me back. As time went on, I became very stressed and upset as I have to begin wrapping everything myself. Eventually I had to insist they wrap things (they had not gotten a call from dispatch) which ended up being pointless as they had no clue what they were doing (their idea of wrapping my bookshelf was going around the middle a couple of times and leaving the to p and bottom completely exposed). I called Local Motion again, this time in tears, to once again tell them that the movers were not doing what I was told they would do and were being careless about my belongings. I was told the lead of my team was one of their top performers and knew what he was doing and that he knew he needed to wrap items. As for the 3 member missing, I was told dispatch had "left me a message to warn me" which they never did. After the call I spoke to the lead and repeated what I was told and he responded with, "I dont know why he would have told you that, we dont wrap things, we just move stuff." Fast forward to 2 weeks ago when my cube was unloaded to my new home. Not only was everything that did not get wrapped damaged, I also found that they packed all of my TVs in the cube laying down flat and even stacked other items on top of them! Clearly showing that no consideration was given to my items. I called my rep again and he directed me to claims who said they wouldnt do anything because I didnt have insurance. Fine, I get that. However, I explained to him that if their crew had done what I was told they would, my items wouldnt have been damaged. And on top of that, I made the company VERY CLEAR that they were not doing what I Was paying them to do during the move. He said I would need to talk with the supervisor and transferred me there. I left a message and waited a week with no answer. I called again this week and left another message asking he contact me within 24 hours or I would be filing a complaint with the BBB which I just did. While looking at their record with BBB, I found a number of other customers who experienced the EXACT SAME ISSUES. Im not asking for thousands of dollars for repairs, I just want them to reimburse my move as they pulled a bait and switch on me. They said I would get 3 movers and I didnt. They said they would wrap my furniture and they didnt. And now, they are providing awful customer service.

I had the worst experience with LOCAL MOTION. Its not even 1 star worth company..please do not hire them for your moving. They are careless, useless and irresponsible. they broke so much of our stuff while moving and later do not even bother picking up the phones or return your calls. We had our house moved in the same area which is with in a 5 mile radius. I was home when they came to pack my stuff and did the initial walk through what stuff I wanted to move. We had purchased a brand new LCD 60" TV and they broke it. While they were packing the TV I told them to be very careful as it was brand new with the plastic seal still on at the borders.They told me they have been doing this for a long time and I need not worry. Right in front of me they flipped my TV and started unscrewing it. I again reminded them to be careful and they just smiled and dint bother to reply. They snapped and flipped my TV over and over which resulted to its damage. I had a doubt and as soon as we entered the new place the first thing I did was to switch the TV on to see if it was working. And there I was, It wasnt working. We had the samsung guy come in to see whats wrong and he said "TV panel needs to be replaced and it costs $1300". We were shocked to here this. On telling this to the local motion people they said we will look into it. Its been 8 months now they didnt reply back. Despite getting addition insurance they didnt reimburse the damage. Their phone is always on voicemail and they dont reply to emails. Just a suggestion for the people who are planning to go with local motion, please do not hire them for your services. They DAMAGE YOUR STUFF and they RUN AWAY WITH IT.

First they charged my CC 4 times, I couldnt even buy food for my kids because they wouldnt release the hold on my card!!!! I literally called the company 20 times & nothing was done. Tony Lupton is a COMPLETE cocky, arrogant JERK!!!!! He didnt care at all that I had to borrow money from friends to buy food & gas!!!! The one mover was supper SLOW, he keep spitting all over my yard, driving, porch!!! He dropped 2 loads of my belongings off my truuck. Tony Lupton didnt seem to be bothered at all, just said, "Oh you have 9 mths to file a claim." My dead mothers collectiables are irreplaceable!!!Tony Lupton NEVER refunded my money, threated me over the phone saying " I can just not refund your money", because I was upset that he was only going to refund me 30 min!!! They charged me double then what they were supposed to. I have moved over 30 times, it should have NEVER taken as long as it did. I had EVERYTHING packed, by the door & ready to load. I will NEVER use them again & I make sure to tell EVERYONE what horrible service I got. This has been the WORST moving company I have ever used!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EL

Id have to agree with the others on avoiding this moving company. I used Local Motion this past weekend (5/31/14) and it was a terrible experience (outside of the actual two individual movers who moved me, they were great guys). They showed up three and a half hours later than my designated move time (1pm). When I inquired after an hour of lateness I was told my window was actually from 1pm - 4pm due to earlier moves in the day. Which is completely understandable but NO ONE previously mentioned that to me. Convenient. The move took over two hours more than my past move with the exact same belongings and trip time. I believe this was due to the poor employees who told me they worked a 15 hour day previously and then had two moves prior to me that day. Understandale, but again, not my problem. My move shouldnt cost more because you over work your employees. Then the bill. I was misquoted initially, had to argue with the dispatcher and was treated like I was the crazy one for wanting the quote price. I used Bester Bros. for my last move and I am kicking myself for not returning. Never again.
