Overall the service was OK, but there is a lot of room for improvement. I went in for a simple oil change and tire rotation on my reasonably new vehicle that has low miles. I went in knowing there was nothing wrong, but an auto shop will always find something. In this case it was the air filter, which they said theyd install for $20. No tools are necessary and the filter costs about $12 from the parts store, so I said Id just do it myself. After I left I went to the parts store, opened my hood and realized they never closed the casing, so my engine was sucking in unfiltered air and bits that were flying off my loose filter. Was this done out of incompetence or spite? Ill never know. Also, they used paint instead of chalk to mark my tires which cant be washed off. I had to cover it with shoe polish so I wasnt running around with big, ignorant yellow numbers on my tire walls. Had they used chalk and checked their work I would have gone back because its close to my new job, but I dont think I will if that is the level and style of service I can expect from them.

I am the type of person that normally does all the repairs on my own vehicle. I recently moved to uptown and am unavailable to do my own repais due to limited access to my own tools as well as time limitations. I have always purchased my own parts and did so again this time. My car needed new rear brake pads and rotors (simple fix). I called ahead of time to confirm that the Midas on E Lake St was willing to do this repair and that they were okay if I had my own parts. I confirmed with one of the employees that it was indeed okay that I had my own parts - he then quoted me for just labor. When I showed up the next morning to drop of my car, I was told they do not allow use of own parts, otherwise labor is 1.5 times that of normal. I wasted half my morning because of this. This could have been addressed in the initial conversation. I will not be using this Midas again.

I went in for a vehicle inspection. I passed on everything except for the tire tread depth, they told me that my tires had only 2/32"of tread left and I needed to get them replaced. That was a bummer, but ok, I understood. They tried to hard sell me their tires, telling me they could pass me if I bought them there on the spot. I declined. I ended up bringing my tires in to another shop to get them replaced a couple of days later. They told me that two of the tires had 4/32" of tread and two had 3/32", which isnt great mind you, but was indeed good enough to pass the inspection. Its pretty obvious to me that they fudged the numbers a little bit in order to try to get me to buy their tires, and because of that I ended up spending $40 on an inspection that I didnt even pass. Needless to say, I wont be going here again any time soon.

Last night I i went on line to book an appointment for an oil change. The web site offered 5:30 today which I selected. I was busy at work today and didnt realize until afternoon that I hadnt received a confirmation. I called them and was told that they close at 6 so they would not honor the appointment. Very bad customer service. I have been a Midas customer for years. My location closed so I was looking for an alternative. It will certainly NOT be here. UPDATING- As a result of this post, the owner contacted me and thanked me for my comments. He will be checking in to the issues. He was very polite and accommodating. I appreciate his professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Brought my 2005 Ford Escape hybrid in last night because the bolts rusted and broke between the tailpipe and resonator (Ford screwed up not putting another exhaust hanger on that long span and it causes stress on that joint and those bolts regularly break as Ive found on many forums online). I tried to get the rusted bolt out at home but had no luck on the resonator side of the joint because they are actually studs welded in place and not bolts through holes. Anyway this Midas took care of it in ten minutes and had me on my way for a great value - especially considering that in order to repair it on my own I would have had to buy a new resonator pipe for about $250... Great experience for this one.

I had service done on my vehicle here. The front desk staff was incredibly honest and helpful and when I wasnt sure if I needed my break pads replaced (because I had them done at a different place not too long ago) the mechanic took me out into the shop while my car was on the lift to show me the unequal wearing on the pads- a fluke, or the result of my previous mechanic not doing it properly. Either way, I was impressed with the service at Midas and they gained my trust (after being initially skeptical) after physically showing me that I really did need the break pads replaced. They do good work at a fair price and I have been a repeat customer since then.

These guys were awesome! I worked on cars for a while so I normally know when I am being over charged. These guys did a bunch of little maintenance for me (tire pressure, window fluid.. etc.) and the best part was they actually told me everything they did. They gave me a break down on my car and what they saw with it, but unlike other places they were completely honest (Nothing needed to be fixed). For example they did not automatically tell me I need to replace my cabin filters or my oil filter. they said it was just fine when most places would have told me I really needed to replace it. If you need some work done on your car go here. Definitely worth it!

They tried to tell me I needed a water pump because mine had a hole in it and they told me and had done plenty of ford water pumps I looked at the holes and they were machined ford calls them weeping holes I have had no problem with the water pump its been two months. I saved myself $2700 not listening to them. While I was there the manager was going to fight a customer over a complaint. And they offered to replace ball joints another $900 they tried to steal. The owner called today I dont know how he got my phone number kind of creepy. He says he wants to explain the rational behind replacing a water pump that did not need replacing. How do you do that?

This is the place to bring your car. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would! I called them this morning to see if they had time to take a look at a fluid leak after I ran over a curb. They told me to bring it in and they could take a look right away. While I was in the waiting room, I overheard they were booked solid through Monday. It turns out they didnt have time to look at my car, but they did it anyway just to help me out. The best part is they inspected my car, found there was no damage and the fluid was water coming from the air conditioning system which is completely normal. I couldnt be happier with the service!!!
