The actual renting of a vehicle was disorganized. I had a van on reservation, but it was a little unclear on exactly how to get that van once on location. Finally once I made my way through the line, the clerk seemed very disorganized and distracted, interrupting our conversation multiple times to help out other employees & customers. Once we got out to the vehicle- the van we rented was in great condition and clean, it got the job done. However, on my way to return the vehicle I noticed that on my receipt the same distracted clerk had charged me $10 for the "CDW" coverage that I had specifically said I did not want. I even had a yellow form copy, proof of my signature to deny the coverage. I called U-Haul a total of FIVE times that day and the next day in attempt to get this charge taken off. I was given the run around each time with every person I talked to forwarding me to someone else or saying they had "no authority" to take the charge off of my bill. After spending hours waiting and going back and forth on phone calls, the manager of this location finally reached me and took the charge off. Why did I have to go through all these hoops just to get a charge off that THEY messed up on? It felt incriminating and showed their poor customer service. This u-haul location is just not as reliable as they could be, so if you have a choice, Id pick somewhere else.

I should start out by saying this is a review of the service I was provided prior to actually getting the truck as opposed to the rental with my truck. I confirmed a truck prior to my move, booked flights to Minneapolis so that I could move my belongings out of a storage unit. The day before I am scheduled (and confirmed) to pick up my truck I receive a phone call explaining that UHaul doesnt actually have any trucks (im flexible on truck size and really only need a 10 truck), nor do any in the area. My only two options are to either drive 80+ miles each way and pay for gas to the nearest location with a truck on my particular day or wait 2 extra days for a truck. I scheduled my move over the weekend because I have to be at work during the week and dont have time to take off from work. Waiting is not an option and I refuse to have to take extra time and pay additional money to get a truck I was already guaranteed to receive at a specific location, on specific day. I cancelled the reservation and Penske was able to provide me a truck on the date needed. If your timeline is fixed and not flexible, beware of using UHaul, they apparently do not have to live up to their end of the deal.

Never again. It was my first and last time using U Haul. in the future, Ill pay a little more up front to rent from somewhere else and avoid the HIDDEN FEES Heres the deal: you pay the cost of the moving truck, plus $.99 per mile, AND you need to return the vehicle with the same level of gas. What does that amount to? Well, lets say you you rent a truck for $29.99. Then, you drive 50 miles. that brings the cost of the truck to $79.49. But wait...dont forget about the gas! According to the woman who rented me the truck, it gets 9 MPG. So replace the 5.5 gallons that you burned at $3.50...which is about $19.25. Bringing the TOTAL COST TO $98.74. Thats right, a 6 hour rental to move some stuff out of your old apartment costs just under 100 bucks. Now, to be fair, I didnt have any issues getting the truck, they didnt try to charge me for any damage (because I didnt damage it), and they were prompt and somewhat friendly in getting me the truck. But in the future, Ill rent from a place thats either locally owned, or, a company thats completely up-front about all of the charges.

The van was fine, but I was charged for 22 miles when I only drove 6. Customer service recognized that the issue was on their end, said theyd have it fixed and call me back. A week later, no one had contacted me, so I called back. They recognized that there was a discrepancy again, but this time stuck to the assertion that Id driven 22 miles (nope, not true). Was never given a proper return inspection at the shop because the employees said they were too busy. Customer service said I could speak to their supervisor about it, but not until Tuesday (its currently Saturday). It was only a matter of $8 in the end, which isnt so much, but when there is a discrepancy that was clearly a mistake on their end, I would expect them to issue a refund. I would not expect them to tell me that I am lying about the distance I drove in order to save myself a few dollars, which is what actually happened. If you choose to rent from this U-Haul, watch them very closely. And dont bother with their customer service.

I made the mistake not asking for the receipt when I was returning the truck. They mixed my name with another customers, and charged me 70 dollars for the 60 miles that I didnt drive. The mistake was obvious. The receipt which I got later has another persons name on it, but with my creidit card number. However, they are reluctant to correct the mistake. They told me to call the headquater which is very difficult to call in. When you return the truck, theyll tell you theyll email your receipt to you. DONT let them do that! Ask for the receipt right away!!! DONT trust these people. They dont care at all if they made a mistake, as long as they can charge money from some account. Can you believe that someone can just take money from your credit card and walk away like this???

Worst moving experience Ive ever had. First they told me they gave my truck to someone else by mistake. They then told me they can get a new truck for me, but I cant have it for the full time I had initially requested. I needed it for a multi day move, because I couldnt move into my new apartment right away. They seriously screwed me over on this one. Would rate 0 if i could. Edit: Just called in to ask when new truck is due in, as Im still scrambling to find somewhere to our all of my stuff, and the lady tells me both trucks are still in my name. So not only did they give my reserved truck to someone else, but they didnt even change the name of the reservation when they realized they gave it to the wrong person. This is the most unprofessional uhaul Ive ever been to.

I thought I was being smart calling my neighborhood U-Haul location to reserve a truck for my upcoming move. When I made the appointment I verified that I would be able to have the truck for 24 hours since I had to be out of my apt. on the 31st and couldnt move in to my new place on the 1st. The lady told me that wouldnt be a problem... until I get a phone call a week later informing me that I can not have the truck for 24 hours anymore - instead I could have it for 5 hours! After I expressed my frustration the lady informed me that I could RENT an overnight storage unit. Instead I decided to call another truck rental company that would allow me to rent the truck for 24 hours. Super disapointed with UHaul!
