I always dislike taking my car to the mechanic, because I feel like I walk into an auto body shop and they get dollar signs in their eyes. I went to this mechanic as I read a lot of good reviews on Google and I live nearby. My car was making a loud humming and rattling sound, so I took it in on a Monday night. One of the two owners took a test drive with me and said it would be one of three things, but he would know more once they inspected it. I was called the very next morning and was told that the exhaust pipe had a hole in it due to rust. They offered to weld out the rusty part and replace it with a new exhaust pipe or put in a new one. The weld option would be $215 versus $600 brand new. I opted for the weld option, which saved me hundreds of dollars. I was also told that my car needed a coolant flush, a brake flush, and the cabin air filter needed to be replaced; however, these are items that can wait until closer to winter. They were very honest about what needed to be done right now and what could wait, as many other reviews on here have said. Im very pleased with the service, honesty, quick-turnaround and friendliness of this shop. I will definitely be going back for any future repairs or preventative maintenance I need done.

These guys do a great job, and I never feel like theyve tried to rip me off. I go to them for oil changes, and they never come and say "Oh, by the way, you really ought to fix this and that and the other thing right now, for mucho bucks..." They do give the car a thorough look, and will tell me if they think theres something that might need to be fixed/replaced sometime soon, but they never pressure me into anything. They also do major repairs, and for much less than the dealership (weve compared). Ive even brought a car there for an issue, and had them fix it and say it was so minor that no charge! Ive been taking my various cars (and now my husbands too) there for about 11 years, and have always been happy. They have 2 shops, and one is open Saturdays, which is convenient. Theyll also refer you to trustworthy body shops and other places, if they cant do the work you need. Its hard to find a mechanic you feel you can trust - which is why I feel like I shouldnt tell anyone else about these guys - theyll get so busy I wont be able to get in when I want to!

I brought my van into D & D to find out why all my break lights were on and found out that I needed a new ABS Module. After they replaced it they were not able to reprogram it with out a Dodge specialist. They told me they would get in touch with the person and let me know when he could make it in. When I did get the call I was told it would be an extra $..., a decent amount, to get it reprogrammed. I was not happy since I agreed to the cost before hand and now it would be a decent amount more. I explained why I was upset with this and they were very apologetic since they werent aware, there for didnt inform me, that they would need to get a specialist to reprogram it and said they would pay half the fee. I really appreciated that they were willing to pay half and that they really wanted to work with me. They really seem genuine and I definitely would bring my vehicles to them in the future!

D&D Auto is the best automotive service Ive found in the twin cities! Eric and other mechanics are knowledge and experienced with domestic and foreign vehicle maintenance. The customer service is great and they care about customers whether the project is small or large. They are also honest about what needs to be done with vehicles and never try to sell extra maintenance, services or parts. Theres always a courtesy call before moving forward with maintenance to walk through repair options and they keep the price originally quoted even if other repairs come up. Ive also brought vehicles Im considering purchasing and they do a thorough inspection for a very low price. I would recommend D&D Auto to anyone needing car maintenance, price estimates, or advice on anything Auto related.

I dont often write reviews, but since the other reviews on this page led me to go here, I felt I should give back. I am so happy I went to D&D! They are honest, prices are what they should be (unlike others), pleasant and helpful. They told me what needed to be done now, and let me know what would need to be repaired in the future (great for my budget:-) Would I go back ... you bet! ... I am ready for my next repair. Yes I need a new car, but sometimes you just got to make due ... and D&D makes it less painful to do so.

Eric and the guys are simply the best. I bring everything I own to him, from Ford to BMW. Honest, hardworking... and busy. Hell tell you if they can do it, if you should do it, or if its a waste of money. And there are no surprises when you pay the bill. You are never lead down that classical automotive path of higher short term profits, but no long term value.

Some mechanics overcharge you to get the one-time payout, but Eric & the gang dont do that. They get the job done right the first time at a reasonable price! Of course, in the long run they earn big bucks with all of the repeat business. Call ahead, because theyre pretty booked.
