Terrible service. They lie about attempting to delivery the package and about leaving a notice. 5 people were home on the day the item was to be delivered (amazon 2 day shipping) and I basically camped out by the door waiting. I got frustrated and checked usps tracking online and saw where it was claimed that a delivery attempt was made at 11:29 am that day and that a notice was left. Incredible. I went to the post office the next day (as instructed by a representative on the phone) and was told that no package was there for me and that "Its probably still on the truck. If you dont get it by tomorrow come back again". "Tomorrow" has passed and still no package. I assume i am expected to visit the post office daily, wishing and hoping to receive this item I paid for. No communication, cant get a hold of someone on the phone (no answer and busy tone). I am visiting the states from a 3rd world Caribbean island, and I can safely say that a lot of Americans like to bash companies with the "3rd world service" insult. I dont get mail often back home, but when I do it is nowhere near this. This is nothing short of deplorable. At this point I would be shocked if I actually receive the item before I return to my 3rd world country. I ordered several items while in Colorado and received them with no issue. I am now in Brooklyn, New York and I am basically hitting a brick wall. I have no choice but to assume why the service is so poor. Completely different demographics, very similar to 3rd world slum with the main difference being the geographical location. Poor service should not be protected and encouraged under the guise of political correctness. Take some initiative to fix this service, among numerous others. Such a shame. A much needed package was sent to my house thursday afternoon. Being unavailable, as i was unavailabe the slip was left by USPS at the time of the delivery. The writing on the orange slip had the most illegible hand writing yet. That same thursday i called for a friday redelivery, inspite of the most absolute illegible handwriting since hieroglyphics. I still managed to rescheduled the appointment via phone using the most horrendous automated telephone service since the teleprompter president took office. It took me about 4 phone calls to correctly do the rescheduling. Total time, i would say would be about 25 minutes. Today i waited patiently for my package, in yearnest that USPS would deliver. What i got was no package, though the mail man did make his rounds. Evidently the bell still works, as does the telephone, as do I. There was no package. I will have to try again tomorrow to receive this already over due shipment. I can just see it now, the PO CYA argument that it takes 3-15 business days. I guess i dont qualify yet, as it hasnt reached the 15 days, inspite of the fact that the package is here, but yet has to be delivered to me. I have had this scenario happen to me on numerous occasions, in particulary over the last 10 years. This is why i am against municipal unions. The higher the prices go, the more things get worse! USPS is not even in the same league as UPS or FED EX for that matter. Complaining wont help, as probably the help line is under union contract as well. So to CYA, lie, lie lie... The PO has just assured me that UPS is the way to go, and if you want overnight, FED EX is the way to go....

I have traveled throughout the US and some foreign countries and this is the worst post office in the Western Hemisphere, possibly the world! Small, cramped, dingy, it defies reason why anyone would purposely go there. Picking up packages requires standing in a mob of customers and giving the package receipt to a worker at the package window in random disorder, and waiting an absurdly lengthy amount of time while workers call out the names of the package recipients in no discernible, and equally random disorder. Instead of actually delivering mailed packages, the Sutter Ave post office workers usually prefer to leave the pink postal receipt slip in your mailbox, forcing you to endure a frustrating and exhausting trip to the level of Hell that is the Sutter Ave. post office (I allow my packages to return to sender and then make alternate delivery options, and I ensure that none of my required medications are mailed). More than once I took the receipt to the post office to pick up a package, only to be told that my package was not there, was probably still on the truck, and to come back tomorrow. The fact that the Sutter Ave. post office is located in predominantly black, lower-income East New York, Brooklyn, is definitive proof that racism is not dead in America.

I have lost several packages due to this post office. The employees are extremely rude and non efficient. I have had several issues and when i go to the post office, i am given the run around, attitude, long wait in line and the employees never seem to want to help me at all. The delivery people never deliver to the door. They scan packages as left with individual and never even knocked on the door. When signatures are required, they dont ask for signatures and packages get lost that way. Some packages are stuffed into the mail box and damage the item. they always scan as "notice left" and that has happened 1 time only!!! They never leave notices. I have to look on m own for the status of my package!! for such a big POSTAL SERVICE< these folks here sure do bring USPS name down to the dirt. I have not had not one good experience with them. They had 225 reviews on internet, and 1.4 stars!! Someone needs to do something about them. A year ago, a manager cursed me out and told me she did so, because she did not like me. This is ridiculous!!! this place should be closed down, remolded and new staff needs to be set in place immediately. Everyone pays for the service and everyone deserves good service no matter what the area is.

I have been living at the same address for over 26 years. Mail delivery is great--mail carriers are courteous and helpful. Package delivery is the major problem. Deliverers will knock or attempt to reach someone at home some of the time. At other times a slip is left or not at all. I know this because I have been home when they write or post online that an attempt was made to deliver. Ive also checked online where it states that a slip was left when it wasnt. Once or twice--coincidence. But when you shop and avoid using the USPS, you know there is a problem. Worse is going to the post office. They seem overwhelmed. Im usually surrounded by other customers that are complaining about the same issues Ive faced and some that are quite vocal about their displeasure. I believe they may be understaffed. I have friends that work at the post office--its hard work. And if you have to deal with customers that are unhappy with their delivery service, it can be a stressful work place. Dont know what needs to be done but something has to change.

HORRIBLE. I was one of the first to go in at 9:00 for pick up. Someone came and took everyone slips and left. Packages were coming out every 20 minutes and the line stretched out the front door. Then the guy working the only window was just sitting there ON HIS PHONE!!! 10:15 Im still there when they call me only to tell me to "come back later we cant find it." The place isnt the problem. Its the staff. SLOW, RUDE, and DISORGANIZED. 7 months later. I had to go back there for 3 days in a row. on there third day they seemed to have recognized me because they handed me my package within 10 mins with a apology. Im expecting a delivery tomorrow so I am online to see if anything has changed with this place and according to the latest reviews they have not. Which makes me really nervous about tomorrow. Already took off from work and I planned to run that truck down tomorrow if necessary to avoid going to that post office.
