I had previously went to monro for a few oil changes and an alignment and all was well. Recently however, I went for an inspection and had a very negative experience. A while after dropping my car off I received a call with a list of things that were wrong including the rack and pinion steering and power steering pump. The man said he would not pass me for inspection and it would cost $1,500 to fix. I went in to speak with the man face to face to get a better idea of the issues. A friend suggested I get a rack and pinion out of a junk car rather than buying a new one to cut costs but the man didnt need entertain any other options but what he had provided me with. He was pushy about me buying the parts soon and was listing off how many days it would take each to come. Being a young woman I recognize that people often take advantage, especially since many my age are unaware of cars. Luckily, I grew up in a family that is very car educated and knew to get a second opinion. I went to another local place and asked them to give me an inspection, not letting them know about what Monro had told me. Soon after the second place called and said my car was all set and I was passed for inspection. I found this pretty fishy since the first guy made it seem like my car was a huge issue. Recently I decided to get a third opinion from my familys usual mechanic. This time I made him aware of what the man at monro had told me. The only thing the mechanic could find was a small leak from the rack and pinion in which he put in sealant, which was a very minimal cost. He said there was no other issues with the system and was not even close to needing to be replaced. Needless to say Im very upset over Monro for attempting to take advantage. So hard to find trusted mechanics!

Wish I could give negative stars! Munro Muffler is a joke, their more concerned about making a buck than having a satisfied customer. Over $300, I asked for an explanation but was told the invoice could not be reviewed until payment was made. One of the services I requested was to change the headlight bulbs (passenger side was blown) I brought my own bulbs. According to the technician I brought the incorrect bulbs, without informing me they took it upon themselves to change both and charged me nearly $60. He told me I could just return the ones I purchased from the parts store but then I discovered I only had 1 bulb, when I asked about it he said "Oh the tech dropped it, it broke, but I can order the same ones then you can return them." I was told Id be contacted Friday morning.. STILL WAITING. Might I also add, I had coupons for a $19.99 oil change and $5 off inspection, they kept it but after reviewing my invoice I do not see the discount! I will never go here again or recommend to anyone! ** Update Munroe claimed they changed both bulbs, today the driver side is bulb blew.. 2 months and its blown?! And I still havent been made right. I hope you go out of business.

I went to Monro 3 times for the same exact problem and they claimed to fix it every time, yet it never actually was fixed. The second time I spoke directly with a mechanic (instead of the sales manager) and he let slip that I needed new rotors, as mine were warped. I had paid for new rotors the first time! I was given some silly story about new rotors warping and rusting in cold weather, but since my rotors were under warrantee, they would "replace" them for free. They obviously never replaced them in the first place. While I was in there demanding they actually fix my problem or give me a refund, a man came in to ask about the tire rotation he had just received. It was not written on his receipt as having been done. The sales manager told him that it was a free service, so they didnt write it down, but assured him it had been done. The man then told the manager that he had marked his back tire and the service had not been done at all! They lied to him just as they had lied to me!!

My inlaws had oil change and tire rotation done at Monroe/valvoline in baldwinsville the day before they gave me their car to drive to Florida for them. 1 hour into the 20 hour trip the tire maitenace light comes on. I look for the closest Monroe to have the pressure checked to make sure Im safe for the trip. Arrive at 7:30 am just as they are opening and the guy refuses to check them for me because I didnt have an appointment but I could leave it for him to look at later in the day. Explained my circumstance and asked if he could just take a quick peek. Nope. I walked out and am now leaving this crap review. Goodbye Monroe/valvoline. Im moving over to jiffy lube.

I recently waited (and watched through the lobby window) for nearly an hour and a half while a technician rotated 4 tires and changed the oil in my car. Two tasks that probably should have taken about a half an hour. Ive honestly never seen anyone move so slowly. About a week later I discovered a pretty large oil spot in my driveway. After taking my car to another mechanic it was discovered that the oil drain plug was loose and leaking oil. Sure the service was cheap but I wont be visiting again.

Tried to sell everyone a ton of stuff. We had two new tires and they tried to convince us they needed to be replaced. While we were there people who had come in for little stuff were told, "Well, Its a good thing you came... luckily we have a sale going on." They did get us in and out in a pinch, but not going back unless there are no other options.

Both my roommate and I had great experiences here. I had my car serviced and was impressed by the knowledge of the manager and his genuine interest in saving his clients money (eg. he found internet coupons I didnt even know existed) and clearly explaining options. I drove from Ithaca and wont hesitate to do so again.

Knew going in I had some major problems with my car. As expected was VERY expensive, the customer service I received was great. The employees were very accommodating and courteous. Hope I dont need that much work done again but will not hesitate to take my car to them again. Thanks guys!

After my car had a blowout, Monro was just what I needed. They had my tires in stock and were able to get four new tires plus an alignment done in under 2 hours. They came across as being knowledgeable and very friendly. If you need tires, go see Monro, youll be glad you did!

Great people, mechanics are honest and will explain anything you need them to. They will price match and take competitor coupons so do some shopping around and make an appointment!
