Facility is ok and does the job . However, I rented a unit and in only 5 months received a nearly 20% rent increase. I called the "need help" number on the website and went in circles with an automated menu. I pressed zero in an attempt to speak to someone and the call disconnected. I then called the local on-site manager who I know has nothing to do with price increases and was told it was to "cover the cost of your unit" (what?). I didnt even want to continue a dead-end conversation and just said ok thank you. Prior to that, I was told I HAD to take out their insurance policy which I thought was odd (the on-site employee insisted). I said my homeowners insurance covers contents in storage and she said its a PS policy. I then sent an email to PS (unable to speak with anyone) and they replied/apologized that I wasnt required to take THEIR insurance as long as I signed a document stating my contents are being insured privately, so I was able to cancel the policy. I also dislike their procedure of locking the carts at the front office. Whenever I go to retrieve items I have to park down by the storage entrance doors, walk to the office (a separate building a few hundred feet away) and check-out a key then push the cart to the storage unit and load/unload stuff. Then you have to walk the cart back to the office, lock the cart return the key and walk back to the storage entrance. Seriously, are people really stealing carts? Whatever...mine is a temporary rental due to a move and the increase will just motivate me to empty the unit to give it up faster.

Today i came to public storage to check out unit prices. An elderly man walked infront of me and according to the name tag val was behind the counter. Right away this man raised his voice at her and went on complaining. It was hard not to listen so i started to observe what was happening. She was very calm,smiling and listening to this man. I have never seen someone handle a situation so well before she was understanding and patient. Val broke down information to the customer so well he had no reason to be mad anymore. Val was very outstanding that if i were her boss i would feel so lucky to have her as an employee. She is knowledgeable and kind. I know when i come to public storage i will be asking for val because she is the type of person you would want to come too if you need anything! Public storage is a great facility with a very strong professional employee.

I signed up for the $1 for first month special that wound up costing me $86. Jillian was very nice. I wish I could say the same about the manager Greg Barber. Upon opening the unit, I was told I HAD to take the insurance and if I found out my insurance carried over just to call the office & they would credit my money back. I left 2 messages & it wasnt until I closed the unit that I noticed I still was credited for the insurance. Upon leaving, Vinessa told me that I had to call the Insurance carrier for credit. After reaching out the them I was directed to Customer Care & left a message for Greg who never called me back. Poorly managed or they just dont know the policies fully. I will NEVER use them again. Be very careful. iNSTEAD OF ARGUING WITH ME & BEING RUDE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SOMUCH NICER TO CREDIT THE LOUSY $10 OR WHATEVER IT WAS.

I came to this place looking to store some equipment for my mobile dj company. First thing that i look at is the cleanliness and they keep everything clean and neat. A few things to note that are a big plus in my book: elevators, rest rooms available for tenants, plenty of hand trucks and dollies. The prices are even exceptionally lower than those ive seen at other companies. Lastly the staff is beyond pleasant. A woman by the name of Tori was very helpful in explaining all the details of the rentals and gave me a tour of the units that were currently available. Im giving this place 5 stars because from the moment i parked my car up until i left there was nothing bad to say. I am now making arrangements to move from my current storage place to public storage. Thanks again you guys are great!

I was going to be moving and needed some packing boxes. I stopped at Public Storage, on Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma, to see if they had some for sale. I was greeted there by a smiling young woman, whose name I will probably not forget, since it was spelled in a way that I had never seen - “Vinessa”. She was a big help to me and assured me that, if I need storage space, she would be more than happy to help me find a suitable unit. It’s rare to find a person, who will go out their way, as Vinessa did, to make sure that a customer is satisfied. Thank you, Vinessa! Thank you Public Storage. Ernie Rickert

Sherrel was great.Extremely helpful & friendly.Such a good customer service employee,Im trying to steal her away from public storage to come work with me.So far,no luck but will keep trying.I recommend this place because of her.Always answered my questions completely & was always friendly & helpful.Its rare these days.People in this city are not very nice anymore.Thats why the storage business is booming,everyone is moving..Thanks again Sherrel,you give me reason to believe there are still some good people left.

I came here for the first time not knowing anything about renting a unit. I talked to Jillian on the phone a few days before and she eased my stress by explaining everything to me. On the day I made the reservation I walked in with loads of questions and Jillian and Vinessa helped me. They were a pleasure to deal with. I walked out not having any questions because they answered everything. They were so pleasant to work with. Wish other companies had employees that were so dedicated and a pleasure to deal with.

I had an appointment at 5:30 one night to open a storage unit. I was running late (about 20 minutes due to traffic) and the property manager stayed late to help me. I knew she wanted to go home but she was so very kind and didnt seem the least bit annoyed. I was very thankful to have her help. Even the next day when I encountered a problem that I didnt think would be fixable and she was able to help me once again. The unit is very affordable and exactly what me and my fiance needed for the time being.

Every time I go into this public storage, I am met with the best experience. Valerie and Sherrel are a great asset to this company and always take the time to go over each detail with me and are so respectful of my needs. They catered to what unit I needed based on my furniture and went over all the paperwork and forms I would need. I love going in here every time and I am confident that this will remain my storage of choice. I love the cleanliness and location.

Never rented a storage space before; Young lady, Vinessa, in office explained all the details of renting - including available space sizes, costs, security, insurance, storage environment, access times, etc.... She also indicated packages (box sizes, mattress covers, etc...) for sale. Though initially I had no intention of renting a space today, due to her presentation and what she had to offer, I signed a contract immediately. Thanks Vinessa - Bob
