I should have looked at the reviews before going to this location. Funny thing is that a few years ago the service here was bearable. I moved away for a few years and have moved back into the neighborhood. I used to go to a Pep Boys in Buffalo, NY and the service there was great. Today I took my car to the Metropolitan Avenue Pep Boys and it was by far the worst experience ever. This is the third time where I have received the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE from this location. Today (12/2015) I brought my vehicle in for a simple state inspection. I asked the associate how long will I need to wait in order to get this job done. He informed me it would take approximately one hour thirty minutes. I decided to get the job done and wait the time out at a nearby Dunkin Donuts. THREE HOURS went by and I didn’t get a phone call or text saying my car is ready for pickup. At this point I figured the job was done and they may have forgotten to give me a call. I went in to pick up my car and I asked a different associate working there if my car was ready to be picked up. He said “he didn’t know and needed to find out.” To my surprise he would come back and tell me NO it is not ready to be picked up. I told him “I waited for THREE HOURS how longer will I have to wait to get this state inspection done?” He responded that I would have to wait another 40 minutes to get the job done. He was not apologetic or did not value my time. Clearly you have to sit at the horrible dirty waiting station they have set up next to the mechanic’s shop and babysit these people to get a job done. I couldn’t trust them alone with my car to get a simple job done. This place is lacking supervision and can not be trusted with your time OR your car. I decided to take my car and leave this place. I pledge to never enter this Pep Boys location ever again due to horrible customer service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS LOCATION!

Terrible experiences at this location. The last one was when they did the "electrical evaluation" of my jetta for the drivers door window. This guy, Maurice D told me the estimate is to tell me what is wrong and "as a courtesy, mechanic will fix it IF he can". The verdict for which I paid $49: " bad news, is not working". REALLY? On top of everything, the mechanic ,Adam, forgot to place back few screws (are still on my carpet) AND BROKE a plastic part next to my window (he was pulling teeth when he tried 45 minutes to pull that door cover, and he was supposed to be the "master" at the electrical. When I asked for the manager (that was a lady -Tyewanna) I was told- "get the part yourself and the mechanic will reimburse you" after all, she said, it cost like $5-$6. This is what defines professionalism at this location. SHAME! Remember, this is a auto shop that sells part , but they said that part is a "body part" and must get it myself from the dealer, as they sell different parts.. I was disgusted with the way they handled this. I was told to pay and wait if I want, until shell call the service manager. I left with a bad taste in my mouth and willing to let everybody I know about this experience and to AVOID THIS LOCATION by all means. They just get money to tell you is broken (its and estimate!), like if you go there for fun, and tell you most of the time to get a new part, maybe a new car, because they cant fix it, but can for sure, broke some other parts and send you to the dealer to get them yourself! SHAME and POOR, UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT , and INCAPABLE mechanics. Mistakes happens, and I understand, but when you handle poorly a problem like that and show attitude, then you deserve this. Never again I will go there.

I took my car in for a alignment didnt want to go but I figure its close to work. I get to my car the lights were on then inside of my car was wet from the rain. I go to drive my car it wont accelerate Im like maybe its due to the alignment of some sort in addition I had all these lights on that I didnt have on before. Long story short they said I had transmission problems. They cleared the lights and fix some minor issue and I drove my car a couple of blocks and it would not accelerate. im so Fing pissed car my gave no indication that something was wrong with it. The mechanic wouldnt even come out to talk to me. This is going to cost me so much because I Live in long island and I dont trust mechanics as it it. I feel as though they did something to my car. One of the guys said there is a very good transmission guy across the street that may a light go off in my head I feel as though they have a relationship because prior to me bringing my car to their store it was fine. I will never ever go to another pep boys again if I do not have to yall suck to high heaven. I am also noticing you all dont have good reviews. I also experience one of the guys being rude I mean people work hard and come to spend their money wisely. Some people live from paycheck to paycheck some people dont have a job if you dont like your job go somewhere else. I seriously think yall did something to my car I dont care what yall say and once my mechanic looks at cause he has integrity if he states that it wasnt yall fault I will come on and rescind this but right now im so furious cause now I have to take the lirr home im going to be to tired to deal with my son and I have to take the lirr to work tomorrow. no star for me.

most of the people that gave a bad reviews are just impatient or wasnt able to control the people that work there like how they wanted to. when i was there, some guy came and left. before he left they told him if he leave with the car, they will not put his place in line on hold. people will have to skip him and when he gets back, they will put his car back on the line he will not be able to skip. he accepted and left. when he came back he started an argument about how they cant put him at the end of the line even though he was told that will happen, he didnt care he just wanted to have it his way. my point is, they operate on strict rules which is programmed to fit all customers. lets say you were the one your car was going to get fixed and he came and demanded that he need to skip you because he was here first and left, how would you feel. they get a lot of jobs. meaning a lot of people go there. do you want them to rush and make a mistake? what if it was your car they made a mistake on and you end up dying from it. if you dont have the patient to wait to get you car properly fixed, dont go there. and since most people gave bad reviews due to their incapability to wait, most people go there with the intent to find something bad. even if they act nice, the person will find a bad thing to talk about like there were a lot of people. of course there were because they do a good job.i went there to get my brakes checked and fixed and they did a wonderful job at that. i went around noon when there were not a lot of people. you should do the same. have a good day.
