There is very little available parking immediately in front, but if you can walk a block or so, you can park. Their phone is busy most of the time, I dont know whether they leave it off the hook or just get lots of calls, but if you try back every few hours, you will probably get through eventually, at least that is my experience. The counter staff may not be customer service all stars, but I have never had a real problem. Come in, be polite, be direct, get your stuff and leave. One guy told me some wrong information but another guy rectified the problem. Remember, youre in South Troy, not the darned Bellagio hotel. People are overworked, some are new, if you come in at the last second and demand to be treated like a superstar your might not get what you want. Another reviewer said someone was rude to them, and Im not surprised. People are rude sometimes. Maybe it was undeserved. Im always polite to them and theyve always handled my business, even though one lady seemed a bit edgy when I talked to her. Again, dont expect a five star treatment. A good dose of patience will go a long way when dealing with the post office, or your bank, or whatever third world call center you find yourself talking to on a given day. The South Troy post office is not out to get you, but there are bad apples in every barrel. Keep your temper, come back later, or take your business elsewhere. If your expectations arent too high, and if youre not unlucky, this Post Office will serve your needs. If you get grumpy or need something *This Second*, you might be disappointed. If you have bad luck, you might get a rude worker. Hang in there, baby.

Going here is great since I always get the same woman but when I call theres usually a man who always answers the phone very rudely as if you asking him a question annoys him. I have two packages being sent to my house today and I called the day before and the woman said I could just call in the morning before they open to have them hold it. I was never told I would have to grab all my mail just to let them know the tracking and thats it. He was peaking to me as if I was stupid. I didnt know you couldnt just grab the two packages but instead had to grab all your mail and when he asked for my address I told him and before I could say it was apartment 2, he hung up on me and now Ill probably get mine and neighbors mail since theres two floors not a house but for him to be very rude he doesnt deserve to work there when I was nice to him and didnt deserve the rudeness. His name is John btw so if you talk to him dont expect him to be nice because he comes off like he hates his job and taking care of people

Quite possibly the worst post office in America. Ive lived all around the east coast, and never had issues like Ive had here in Troy. International and express packages are often left behind at this post office for days, until I call and have to pick them up myself. Letters and bills arrive several weeks late, if at all. The carriers are horrible. They often deliver mail to the wrong apartments, Im constantly getting my neighbors mail and vice versa. The mailbox is always left wide open, so mail can get blown away, rained on, and stolen. If they do bother to deliver a package they either drop it off at the wrong door, or leave it near the sidewalk to be stolen by people walking by. I have most packages sent to a friends house the next town over, and I cringe whenever something has to be sent to my own home. Complaints fall on deaf ears, and Ive heard the "oh its a new carrier" excuse every single time. If you recently moved to Troy, dont have anything of value sent via USPS, youll regret it.

This post office is terrible. I have been calling for weeks, most of the time the phone is busy for hours. The few times I got through the one woman lied to me and never called me back or completed what she said she would. The second time I finally got through the man I spoke with also lied to me and has not redirected my mail as promised. I am far less them pleased with this horrible service they are providing. Hours later, I finally was able to talk with someone who in response to my lost package informed me he "does not know where it shipped to as of last week" So you lost my package and cant tell me where it was. He told me talk to the company and hung up on me... You are horrible at your jobs.

These guys (& Gals!) @ Troy P.O. have always gone out of their way to help me out, even letting me pick up a package when I needed it before the place was open for business once or twice! Never had a bad experience except long lines sometimes, but that aint their fault. They even answer the phone quickly when you call them, something that other P.O branches many times dont do. Ive seen the girls @ the windows have to deal with some pretty rude customers a few times and still manage to handle it like professionals. Thanks, and keep up the good work, your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Gordon Mac...

My family and I went in to apply/renew passports. We respected the times noted in three places in the building and also online, however they couldnt accommodate us, because the ONLY person that could do the job had gone out to lunch. After speaking with a man, who claimed to be the post master, we still got nowhere. He was rude and disrespectful. As a supervisor, shouldnt he be able to do that job? Not only could he not do the job, he couldnt even suggest another place to go. Just a note...any county clerks office can process passports, and the clerks office in Troy was friendly and super helpful.

It is incredibly how a company of service can have a have costumer service. Make me wait for one hour to speak with a Supervisor, because I have a label to pick up a package at the location and they couldnt find it. Than one person came saying that she is the Supervisor and she dont care what happen in the past and in order receive my package I have to sing before I get it. I totally dont understand what happend at that store. (I am paying extra in order to get it faster and they have 3 days of delay)

two women working at the post office today( 4/5@1125am.) one young one old. The old woman was very rude! She would not let me pick up a package for a friend. My friend clearly filled out the PS Form 3849 by entering my name at the top and signing on #2 for an authorized agent to pick up. I had my ID and she asked for hers for me to pick up the package. She needs to be retrained!! Thanks for having me stand in line for 45 min. for nothing

The employees at this Post Office branch put up with a TON of "garbage and trash and verbal abuse"!! They are pleasant, helpful, and hard-working and always have a smile for everyone!! I have been using this Post Office for almost 50 years!! Some of their customers, who have to wait in line are rude and abusive!! Their customers need to grow up and adjust their schedules to allow for waiting in a line... It is no big deal!!!-
