Ive had my PO box now for a full year. I use it for personal and business mail. For the first 10 months I always received my mail as expected. Nearing the last (11th and 12th) month, my mail was occasionally getting returned to the original sender. As it turned out, the Nixa Post Office said that my business name didnt appear to be on my PO box any more. After they had confirmed with me that they had corrected this problem, I began to start receiving mail regularly as I always had before. Not long (approximately 2 weeks later), it started happening again. My mail was getting returned to the original sender again. I spoke with Barbara and she confirmed with me, for the second time, that the problem had been rectified. Now, after my 1st year was nearing completion and I would be required to renew, I chose to make my renewal payment online w/ usps.gov. After doing so I continued to receive statements in my PO box that my renewal was still owed. I spoke with Barbara, yet once again and she asked me to email her my receipt. After doing so she confirmed that my PO box was in fact current and I wouldnt have to worry about anything. My PO box was required to be renewed on or before July 31st. I renewed it around the 17th. Now because of the past uncertainties with this post office, I decided to visit with them face to face to be certain that my PO box was current and I would not have to worry about any expected delays due to their poor tracking system. In doing so, I went in to their office and spoke directly with Barbara. She assured me that my PO box was current even though they obviously had and internal problem acknowledging so. I felt assured and went about my day. Yesterday, one of my staff went to pick up the mail and told me there was a hard piece of pink colored plastic in my PO box. Being concerned that this may be their internal way of monitoring boxes that were up for renewal, I called them to ask why it was in there. Unfortunately, I forgot the ladys name I spoke with, but it definitely was not Barbara this time. I asked her about two things, 1) what was this pink piece of plastic about and 2) did it show that my PO box was currently paid in full? She said that the pink piece of plastic was accidentally placed in there for no known reason and also that my PO box was in fact currently active and paid in full. Now, tonight, after checking my mail after their normal business hours, It appears that my box has been locked because I can not access it with my key. I hate to sound cliche...(government employees), but the entity or individuals who oversee this location should definitely look into the person who is actually running the Nixa Post Office because they are doing a terrible job. For those of you who are considering using this post office, If you have alternate options for getting your mail in the Nixa, MO area, I would highly suggest it.

Apparently Nixa USPS can take liberties and assume whether or not someone has moved into a new home. I recently moved to Nixa, made my prior arrangements by change of address form online...no big deal. But I order two packages for the holidays, and they made their all the way to Nixa USPS, went out for the delivery, and the mail carrier noted the home as vacant...never once bothered to deduce that there were 2 cars in the driveway and a new trash bin on the curb. Never even bothered to knock on the door and ask, Hey, does someone live here now. This also means that whatever system the USPS is using to keep their carriers updated on the residency status of the homes they deliver to is just as broken and in need of repair as the whole USPS system in general. I will grant that the man at the counter actually showed empathy, and had me fill a form out to ensure it wont happen again, but this experience has certainly diminished my faith in the USPS as a whole operation, despite how much I want to support it and make it work. A slip in the cracks is one thing...but this was nothing more than some mail carrier taking liberties and assuming, and now my special packages for the holidays have been sent back to the companies I ordered them from, and I wont receive again until the middle of January.

This is BY FAR the worst post office Ive ever dealt with. Almost every other week the mail carrier will leave new mail, but not take the mail in the box. Ive had the mail carrier return mail to the sender saying "Wrong address" when its the right address. Ive had mail sent back to the carrier saying "Business is closed" when the business is open, they just didnt want to get out of the truck. Ive filed 3 complaints against this office just this year - and am writing this today after the mail carrier decided to drop off a new round of mail and NOT take the mail sitting in the mail box. Called USPS to file another complaint this year - and was met with a 40 minute hold time. (Good work guys!) Tried calling Nixa USPS directly - line has been busy for over an hour (Prob fielding angry calls for not picking up mail!) Guess Ill go into the post office to drop off the mail they refused to take. Filed another online complaint requesting a USPS supervisor call me back.

I swear, this has to be the worst Post Office in Missouri, if not the country! They are slower than and as friendly as the dead! Worst attitudes and customer service I have ever experienced. And What would take any other post office 3 days to deliver, it takes the Nixa office 7-8 days for some reason. And I have seen in the news that they are considering cutting Saturday delivery, but yet I see commercials on TV for the Postal Service with bight, happy faces?!! Have you heard of what these people make an hour?? Starting at $18-$20/hr!! Heres a clue.... I understand that the post office is related to the government. But since the post office is giving such horrible service, its no wonder we are moving to FedEx or UPS. They are making the case for FedEx or UPS to become the daily delivery service. Just cut the post office off already..

If an establishment cannot hold regular hours that are convenient for the majority of whom they serve, the place shouldnt do business at all. This post office has unreasonable hours, which benefit nobody except the actual employees here. I dont care if theyre government or not, the service isnt warranted if nobody can use it during the whole 4 hours theyre open each day. Wed be better off closing the public portion of the post office, and just offering mail delivery. I usually drive to Springfield post offices, anyway.

I went in to the Post Office recently to renew my passport and was very impressed. When I first arrived there was a very long line and honestly I expected a "DMV" type experience (slow and unfriendly service). I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the ladies behind the counter worked and immediately noticed their friendly attitude towards all of the customers. The line went very quickly and the lady who helped me truly went above and beyond helping me get everything lined up and mailed out.
