LONG, BUT WORTH READING AS EVERY FACT IS FULLY DOCUMENTED. Im a middle-aged female, who knows a fair amount about vehicles after rebuilding multiple through out my life. I typically have no problem knowing which questions to politely ask to ensure Im being told the truth and treated fair. Theres a type of Southern Good Ole Boy ego that cant handle a womans questions. PAS has at least one. A higher-level employee patronized me and spoke rudely was disparaging pushy about why Id made certain decisions following an auto accident, which were none of his business. These were totally unrelated to the Work Order to Download my 2011 Subaru Outback Limiteds EDR/CDR DATA, which he didnt know how print in the Detailed Report format. I could see other employees were uncomfortable with his attitude, yet none MANNED UP to shut this guy down. After a previous disappointing visit, Id ONLY RETURNED BECAUSE PAS CLAIMED THEY COULD DOWNLOAD THE EDR/CDR DATA, which PARKWAY SUBARUS uneducated Service Manager erroneously claimed was ILLEGAL TO DOWNLOAD BY THE VEHICLE OWNER. Id been to PAS ONCE BEFORE, when the Check Engine Light came on the day after I purchased a Volvo V90 SERVICED BY PAS. Our purchase of the Volvo was significantly based on PAS RECENT INSPECTION, RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUBSEQUENT COMPLETED REPLACEMENT WORK. Though, I was treated politely then by the SAME EMPLOYEE, HE FOUND A FAULT CODE FOR A MASSIVE EXHAUST LEAK AFTER EVALUATING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. DESPITE THIS & ITS DANGEROUSNESS - AND HIS KNOWLEDGE A TEEN WOULD BE DRIVING THIS CAR, he didnt bother to put it on lift, look or check ANY further; ALTHOUGH PAS had completed significant Exhaust System work LESS THAN 6 WEEKS BEFORE! Instead he told me to come back if it continued. I decided to have car fully inspected Grill to Bumper AFTER DRIVING OFF THE ROAD LATER THAT DAY SUFFERING FROM CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING! A NEW mechanics inspection found ROTTEN LINES UNDER THE CAR, SEEPING EXHAUST, WHICH WERE NOT REPLACED BY PASS EXTENSIVE EXHAUST WORK, NOR NOTED AS NEEDING REPLACEMENT IN THEIR INSPECTION. ADDITIONALLY, there were also serious ECM Codes w/ECM TEMP, Struts, Torn Power Steering Boots & BOTH CV Boots needing replacement, FAULTY SWAY BAR END LINKS - ENOUGH that it would be cheaper to replace BOTH AXLES than fix all the individual parts. PLUS, REPLACING THE ROTTED HOSES WOULDNT GUARANTEE THE REST OF THE EXHAUST WAS OK. Estimate to fix between $3,000-$11,000, since most of Dash had to be removed for some repairs & UNK EXHAUST SYSTEM. I cant fault PAS entirely for my losing $3,000 & becoming stuck with an undrivable Parts car as its unable to pass NC Inspection w/o thousands more work that I cant afford even if cost-effective, as Im a disabled single mom of a special needs child. I should have done a pre-purchase inspection & NOT RELIED ON PAS RECENT DETAILED INSPECTIONS & COMPLETED WORK. BUT, ALSO I CANT SEE HOW "ANY MECHANIC" COULD INSPECT A VEHICLE THAT WAS ORIGINALLY PRESENTED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, PERFORM ALL THEIR INSPECTIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS; YET NOT DISCOVER ROTTED EXHAUST EVAP HOSES LEAKING MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF EXHAUST AS EXACTLY EXPLAINED BY THE ECM CODE. THEN, PERFORM THEIR RECOMMENDED WORK TO REPLACE TIMING BELT, REPLACE ALL CRANKCASE BREATER HOSES, REPLACE OIL TRAP ,REPLACE BRAKES, DO ALIGNMENT & MORE OVER FOR $1,100, YET MISS COPIOUS EXHAUST LEAKS BAD ENOUGH TO POISON PEOPLE AFTER A SHORT DRIVE. THATS NEGLIGENCE & Mechanics 101. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PAS TO ANYONE! They may be named in the lawsuit with HANOVER FINANCIAL, who FRAUDULENTLY sold this Volvo as a PRIVATE PARTY vehicle to avoid THEIR DEALERS REQUIREMENT of a CURRENTLY NC INSPECTION. People like these take advantage of those in challenging personal /physical conditions.

DO NOT take your car to Performance Auto Specialists. I took my car in to have some service lights addressed. I was told I needed a couple sensors replaced on my tires. I agreed to have them do the work. After pulling out of the shop I noticed that my woodgrain steering wheel had two chips in it. I immediately called the shop and notified Chris (the manager) that this had happened while in their care. Chris stated that he believed I was being honest and was just not sure how they had caused the damage. He told me they would look at it when I returned the car for the sensor repairs. After I took the car in and let them repair the sensors we discussed how to get the steering wheel fixed. I told Chris I found someone locally who could do it for around 200 dollars. Typically, this is not something that anyone repairs and a new steering wheel, which costs $2500-$3000, is the only solution. Chris instructs me to go get an official estimate to bring back to the shop. I return with an estimate for $125, which is $75 less then I originally quoted them. I was then sent to talk to the owner, also named Chris, who basically called me a liar to my face and said they he didnt do the damage and said there was no way he was fixing it. He was rude and unapologetic and very dismissive of me, he actually made me cry. My family spends lots of money at his shop and he was willing to lose all our business over 125 repair that he or his staff caused. I wonder if I had been a man would I received the same treatment. This used to be a nice shop when it was smaller and now that they are growing they forgot how they got there.......their customers. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Response to PAS- You know that I did not chip my own steering wheel. You need to take responsibility for your mistake. I told you that when I felt the chip I thought it must have been something you had gotten on the steering wheel. I was driving at the time, when I was able to look at it, I saw it was chipped. The gentleman at Lexus told me that mechanic make mistakes often and chip steering wheels and that I should have you replace it. I was nice enough to try to fix it another way. You know what you did and I dont need to address it any further. I will still be filing a report with BBB.

I had called early morning to see if they had time to do an oil change, replace fuel filter( which I provided ) and check over a few things for me. "Yes, no problem. bring it in at 10:30 and will do that for you" I was not in any rush at the time, so I dropped my vehicle off to them, and explained the squeaking noise my truck was making. Hours later I had not heard back from them and it was almost 5:00. They closed at 5:30. So I called them and asked if they were finished with my vehicle and the person said "the squeaking is your rear drum breaks metal on metal and estimated over $500 to fix! I thought that was a little odd because I had new tires put on a month ago and they said my breaks were good. Also I thought that was weird because the squeaking doesnt happen when Im breaking (which I had explained to them when I dropped off truck) so I said okay, did you guys get the new fuel filter put on? "Uhhhh let me call you back and Ill go check" 15 minutes later I got a call back. "No, no fuel filter was put on and the oil change was not done" I couldnt believe it. So I go pick up my truck since I needed it that night and the next day for work, they told me about the breaks and what not and the estimate so I said okay Ill call you guys back about that. Today I went to another shop, oil change was done in 30 minutes, they told me the squeaking is FOR SURE a U joint, and my rear breaks were fine.. So not only did your guyss place keep me waiting over 6hours to do NOTHING, but you guys almost charged me $500 to "fix" something that wasnt even the problem to begin with..
