Worst company ever! Tricked me into upgrading my service from residential telling me I had a problem with my hardware and would take 5-7 days to fix but would be next day service if I upgraded to business which was twice as much per month! Because the phone is very important I agreed to upgrade. The next day admitted it was their problem but I decided I would upgrade for better service. I have now been waiting 14 days! Yes 14 days to get my phone number back!!!! I have 7 open ticket numbers, 2 empty promises that a supervisor would call me back, and even had two sales calls from Charter to sell me more service and when I calmly explained to the second one that it had been 10 days since my problem started...he hung up on me!!! I will see this through to the end and take all my complaints to the better business bureau! I will then file a fraud claim with the department of justice! But as of today, still no solution! I will never use Charter again!

I decided to give Charter a 30 day try. I was paying $133 a month for satellite TV and for internet service no phone service. Im now paying with Charter $110 a month for 3 years with no contract and I get TV, internet and phone service. What I now have that I didnt have before is a TV with HD with on demand service, it is so nice to have a clear picture, fast internet service, and a home phone with caller ID and other services. The install man was very professional and answered all of my question. The sales rep that knocked on my door and talked me into trying Charter, Brian Hughes was very helpful. I said no contract and he said no contract and HD TV. They are even going to pay off the remaining 2 months for my internet service. I only gave them 4 stars because I do not like the way the guide is set up, I wish it would only show the channels that I subscribe to but other then that I am very happy with Charter.

Went to go return my cable boxes at the location in Astoria at 1pm on a Tuesday-the times on the door were clearly and largely posted that they were open Mon-Sat until 6pm. The door was locked and the lone employee inside ran to hide behind a computer so he would not have to deal with me apparently. Im ok with lunch breaks, but please have them posted and at least come to the door and let me know you are on lunch (and when I should come back!!) instead of rudely ignoring me while Im balancing 3 cable boxes/cords/remotes in the pouring rain at a time when you are supposed to be open. I am not impressed and feel this is incredibly unprofessional.

Obviously this is not a local business and the local employees have nothing to do with the way the business is run however the parent company is a colossal cluster. Ive never had so much trouble simply ordering internet service in my life. The website is ridiculous and sends you an order confirmation before youve agreed to their terms (24 months or theyll whack you with a massive cancellation charge. The customer service people have no idea what theyre doing and are completely confused about even the most basic questions. No wonder theyre a billion dollars in dept.

I must first stipulate that I have never dealt with a cable provider with integrity yet, so were comparing evils here: charter is unfailingly polite on the phone, yet cannot accomplish anything except wasting everyones time. The installers are generally outsourced so you may get a gem who fixes everything, or you might get a bum stoned on the job. Since they are the only choice here, they can get away with it until there is real competition.

Having been a Charter customer for eleven years now, I learned I am not a valued customer. Only fresh meat is eligible for the TV specials and on-line promotions. I am punished for my loyalty with higher prices on all three services. If this is a new business paradigm test, you should read the reviews from your customers. Good luck with that.

My first year of service i had no problems with my phone or Internet. Now since my first year is up my phone and internet keep dropping everyday and they say the problem is that their service is having problems in my area...My neighbor has charter and he has had no problems. Worst internet around clatsop county.

This is why monopolys are supposed to be illegal. 29.99 for internet and 29.99 for basic cable when you bundle (Thats what all the adds say) yet somehow it turns into $140+ when you order it. Internet alone is twice what youd pay in portland. But what ya gonna do? No other real choices.

My cell phone is blowing up with up to 10 calls a day, recorded message, regarding an over due balance on an account I dont have, never did have!!! A real person said they dont show my phone number on any account....so the calls keep coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
