We unfortunately had a very negative experience with Evenflo Plumbing. They are not transparent with their billing and seem to capitalize on the inexperience/trust of some customers. Most of our complaint was turned back onto us, blaming my wife for not asking the right questions ahead of time. So, if you are not an experienced tradesman, and/or accostumed to the games that dishonest serviceman play, it seems that Evenflo would love to have your business. For what its worth, we had 2.5 hours of work completed at our house (shower drain leak, and a clawfoot bath tub drain reconnect) for a shocking total of $540. Their hourly rate is supposedly $92/hour. What was not disclosed upfront or at really any point until I called to complain, is that they bill for their "travel time". Not once did the tech mention that, nor does their website mention it, nor did their correspondence before the service visit mention it. Their "bill" also did not mention it. I say the "bill" because the service technician refused to provide my wife with an itemized bill... even when asked. Instead he convinced her that a lump sum was a "better deal" and if he did an itemized he would really have to include all the parts that he used, and this way he can kind of hide them in the bill..... What a farce. I called their office today to inquire, and they seem more interested in backpedaling and blaming my wife for not asking the right questions before the service visit than addressing their lack of transparency and dishonest practices. Even with travel included, the bill includes $200+ unknown charges... supposedly parts related... but no justification. Wendy told me she would call the technician to "get his side of things" and call me right back.... 36 hours later and no phone call, but I did just receive an amusing email from them asking me to review their business.... so here you go. Its a shame to be a small community, and consistently run into people who just dont get it.... they are more eager to take advantage of you, then to do a job well and be honest and upfront and develop a relationship for return business. We have a lot of future renovation plans, and could have been a lot of business for them, but we will be going with someone else next time.

They missed two appointments and were insanely rude. They called before the first appointment, said theyd had an internal scheduling mixup, and rescheduled me for "first thing 9 am" on another day. They NO-CALLED NO SHOWED the rescheduled appointment. I called at 30 minutes after the scheduled time to inquire where their plumber was, and they launched right into phoney baloney excuses. Within 30 seconds I was told that road conditions are icy (its 31 degrees outside) so dispatch instructed the plumber to pull over "for safety", the plumber is travelling from out of town, and that my appointment window is actually from 9am-11am so the plumber really wasnt late yet. If road conditions are poor, leave your house earlier. Thats how I get to work on time. I cant believe this ludicrous story that their plumber is pulled off the road, just waiting for the weather to warm up "for safety", yet noone bothered to call me to let me know. I and this company are in Corvallis, so Im not thrilled hearing "our workers are from out-of-town". And noone at any time mentioned there was a two-hour time window. Why should there be a two-hour window for the first appointment of the day?? Its ridiculous, and you only find out long after theyve no-called no-showed, even though I was word-for-word told that my appoinment was "first thing 9 am". Thats still not the worst. I get a call an hour late saying the plumber is still delayed, and will I be available all morning? I say no, that I have to work. She asks if I want to reschedule again, and I say no because this is the second appointment theyve missed. Ten minutes later, I get a call by someone else at the company that was 100% HARRASSMENT. I was told that I was rude for not waiting for the plumber (what??), accused of hanging up on the dispatcher (100% untrue) and I was repeatedly told that I was being taken off the schedule. Im still baffled by that call. When I saw them calling my cell again, I was hoping it was an attempt to still get my plumbing issues fixed! Ive had good and bad service in town, and this is the worst of the worst. Insane level of rudeness, no-call no-show, cant keep their word on anything, and lies freely.

Evenflo recently repiped my home and also installed a new hot water heater. The people in the office were very responsive and helpful. I used them because one of their employees (Sean) had dealt with a broken pipe issue I had before and obviously knew what he was doing. Sean and Kyle did the repipe, and they dealt with an extremely tight, unpleasant crawl space with a lot of professionalism and grace. (When the code inspector came out after and peered into the space, he said, "I bet those guys must have been griping the whole time!" Well, actually, nope! Though I wouldnt have blamed them if they had.) They also went above and beyond in fixing a couple of other issues which came up along the way, and they left the place cleaner than it was when they came. They did a bang-up job and I wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone. Thank you to Evenflo and your wonderful employees! P.S. Sean also cleared up a mystery that had been bugging me. There was a weird smell, like male cat urine, around the front of the house and I couldnt figure out what it was. I asked him about it (I was afraid maybe it was a sewage leak or something) and he said, "Maybe its the bushes." There are boxwood bushes there, and it never would occur to me it could be them, but then, I realized that the only other place I ever smelled that odor was my friends house who also has boxwoods lining their walk. I googled it, and yes, sure enough, boxwoods make this weird smell. Thank you, Sean!

We were in need of a plumber on the weekend and their after hours visit is reasonable; $99 vs. their normal business hours visit price of $49. Response time to call back was quick; around 30 minutes. The front desk person who answers the phone during the day said the night shift had nothing scheduled, but when they called back I got a different story, but wed used Evenflo in the past and decided to wait until the next day. Kyle was very courteous and willing to wait 10 minutes while we called our landlord to confirm the price quote and humored the questions the landlord asked. He worked efficiently and kept things tidy and even put back things back he had to move in order to install the water heater. They have an odd system where they cant tell you the price breakdowns of things; for instance the cost of the water heater vs. misc. parts vs. labor. Perhaps this will be more clear when I get the e-mailed receipt. Prices were a bit steeper than expected; around $200 an hour, but for a Saturday job that couldnt wait much longer, not outrageous. Id definitely give them a call again. Update: Very honest company, when they went to e-mail the receipt on Monday, they realized Kyle overcharged for misc. parts that were meant to be included in the flat rate, they issued a credit and wrote a check for the amount and sent it right away.
