I have used this shop many times for my fleet vehicle work and maintenance. I had been fairly happy until recently... I brought my Kia in due to a noise it was making. I couldnt make out what it was but I knew it had to be coming from the front wheel or brakes. They asked for me to leave it so they can take it apart and figure out whats going on. I left it with them I get a call about an 1 1/2 hours later and said they had finished. When I got there I was really surprised that they had charged our company $200 to fix a wheel bearing that would have been covered under warranty and there was a Kia dealership literally 2 minutes down the road.. I asked why my maintenance company authorized something that would be free. Troy the service manager said he had told them its dangerous to drive and that they would have to tow it to get it to a dealer.. I knew this was bull because the dealership is literally a few blocks down the road and it was still very drive-able. I was a little irritated but my maintenance company should have contacted me before they authorized.... Anyways, I drive off and low and behold the sound is different and much worse now! I call Troy back and he tells me that they need to do an additional $850 in work in order to fix it! I was really irritated now! Not only did Troy trick us into paying for a warrantied part but now the noise is worse and is asking to to add an additional $850 to the bill! At this point I took the car over to Kia down the road for a second opinion. They basically diagnosed it a faulty bearing; The one Oregon City Firestone just put in! I then call Firestone back and tell them what Kia said. Troy gets back on the phone and proceeds to tell me that all the other work needs to be done as well in order to fix this and it will be 5 business days before they can get me in! Funny how when they did the wheel bearing the first time they were able to sell it, order the part and install it all within 2 hours! I was so mad at this point I took the Kia to Vancouver Firestone which is near our corporate office. Larry the manager at Vancouver has more experience then all of the workers at Oregon city put together. I left the car with them and they called me same day to say that it was a bad bearing install!! He then said I will have the part in ASAP and will call you once we have fixed it and that those other repairs were not necessary!!! He called the next day and the car is perfect!!! I think Firestone as a whole is a decent company but when you have shady people like Troy working for you it puts a blemish on the whole company! What a shame... Beware, Troy is a scam artist!!

beware....Friday afternoon I suddenly discover a leaky rear tire that, after I checked, has leaked out almost all air in a short time. Im close to Firestone, so I pull in. The shop is slow. Its 5ish, Friday afternoon. The counter service man responds, "well, let me check to see if its an OK tire", or something like that., Ive had several leaks in the last year, (really) and never before has a remark been made like that. So he comes out, says the stem is undamaged, measures the tread ,says its OK and then proceeds to check across the exposed tread.Never had a serviceman do that. Normally they say, OK, well take a look at it. Im sure they do those things, but this guy is making a point of me seeing his inspection---for whatever reason. Then he says, "here it is. Thats quite a laceration. It might be over two ply and, if so, we wont be able to repair it." Then ,when he writes it up, he tells me, due to the manufacturer warranty, Ill need four new tires if its not repairable. You think my radar isnt turned on now? It is. I know about the warranty. Its an all wheel drive vehicle, but why is the counter guy preparing me for an bad tire? Sure enough, in short order, the real repairman comes out, shaking his head, explaining that my tire is irreparable. Well, Ive got my speech prepared. "Thats OK, put it back on. My son in law likes to fix bad tires". As i leave, The new counterman reminds me I gotta buy four new tires cause this ones bad and because it might void the manufacturers warranty not to. I take it over to Les Schwab., The counterman says, "lets fix it up for you. " And they do. Plugged it up and Im outa there in 30 minutes. Dodged a $600 bullet. I had to give it one star. They should have a minus star. Beware.

The bathroom and waiting room were so dirty I couldnt get out of there fast enough. Im not a clean freak by any means, this was just an extremely dirty place. We walked the shops, then the mechanic said they needed more time so we went to the waiting area. If you can avoid the waiting area, maybe its an OK place. The bathrooms were unacceptably dirty. The toilet, sink, floors, even the walls had more scum than any restroom Ive ever seen. The drian on the floor was CRAWLING WITH BUGS! I wish I had been carrying diapers because I would have rather my son sat in a soiled diaper than use that bathroom again. There are only six seats in the waiting room, and it was full. I had my two year old with me so it was hard for him to wait for an hour. The floor was so dirty I couldnt let him down to play. Because all the seats were full he had to keep rather still to not disturb the other customers. There were dried coffee spills everywhere, bugs crawling on the coffee table and the garbage cans were overflowing.

We set an appointment for a "comprehensive" inspection and specifically asked if they would check everything thoroughly and not just eyeball things and they said yes. We even made a point to ask if they can repair our broken windshield wipers and they said of course. When we got to our appointment two days later (which, due to weather, meant we had to borrow a friends car in the meantime) they said they do not do comprehensive inspections and that they dont fix broken windshield wipers without first doing a $100+ wiper inspection, which had not been mentioned when we asked about cost initially. What a big waste of time... now we are stuck with a car we cant drive in this weather and have to wait for another appointment at another store in order to get it fixed and get a COMPREHENSIVE inspection. Very disappointed that we got false information and wasted our time going here rather than setting up an appointment somewhere we could actually receive help, sooner.

When I took my car in to get an alignment, they said it was going to be $115 which was $35 more than my online quote said when I made the appointment. Then they said I needed 2 new tires and I asked if they have the same ones that I do now and he said not the same brand, but similar and I asked if they would look the same and he said "theyll be black and round". If they werent already working on my car I would have walked out then and there. Then when I was about to pay I asked why it was $35 more than the online quote and he said "online prices are different and since you didnt mention it, we didnt change it." Are you kidding me?! He changed the price for me, ran my card and then the other guy jumped in and said the more expensive one had one year warranty. Well ya failed to mention anything about that didnt you! Never going back there again.
