After my 1st vist at Firestone they wanted to over charged me for work , witch it was fine becouse I wanted my car for the weekend , after they had my car up they wanted another 90bucks to flip my front sway bar over , so I told them that was to much I will pay 45 even tho I think that is a bit much but I know they need to eat too but they wouldnt flip it for the 45 plus the 85 for the job , so 130 wasnt enough money for them to make a 1st time customer happy to were I would want to come back , now after my 1st time going there nor did I even get good customer service , after leaving there I drove home flipped the sway bar laying on the floor in ten mins , called 4 other firestones shops thinking I would try another shop thinking maybe it was just one bad apple , every shop I just called they where all very rude over the phone , they said my car was too old and no Firestone can do the work , okey if no Firestone can do the work then why was my car On a rack at one of their stores going to be worked on , , I will never go back , I will go back to Les swab , they always have been good and at my door before I can even turn the car off , much better customer service , I cant believe Firestone is even still in bissness

I have lived in the country most of my life with the only place to go for tires was Les Schwaab. When I moved to Portland, I thought I would look for another shop to support and I became a loyal customer of Firestone. I bought a set of 4 tires some years back. I got a flat tire a couple of years later. I could see that the side wall was compromised so I understood the need for a new tire but they talked me into two new tires due to the amount of wear on the other tires and the damage that could happen from being out of balance. I had a flat tire again this week. I could see that the puncture was in the tread not the sidewall. This time they said they didnt want to be responsible for me having a blowout with the sidewall compromised so a new tire was the only option. They wanted $167 for one tire! I needed a second opinion so I took the tire to Les Schwaab. They didnt see anything wrong with the sidewalls and they fixed it for $15 dollars. I can no longer recommend Firestone to anyone, they use scare tactics to get you to spend unnecessary money.

I managed to damage my rear shocks pretty badly on my 98 BMW M3 in a rush to get to my sisters wedding (told the wrong location 3 times), and had to find a shop. This was the one my insurance company towed me to. When I got there the problem was gone, and after explaining my situation, Lex said if it was him, hed risk driving back to Washington. This was also after he had checked my car for over, free of charge. I ended up coming back to have them replaced, and got nothing but sound advice, i.e. power steering leak, consider replacing tires due to wear (were not pushy at all!), and the like. After being quoted a price, I was even happier, it was about $600 lower than anyone else, for the same set of shocks. These guys will deal with you straight, and their service shows a desire to build a customer base rather than make a quick buck. Id recommend them to anyone in the Portland area. Hell, Im stationed in Fort Lewis, WA, and these guys will likely remain my go to mechanic.

Youre money would be better spent at Alamo Volvo Repair on NE Glisan (just past Fred Meyer). I had an oil change and tire rotation on my S40 done at Firestone down the street from my house. It was way over-priced and there are a bunch of questionable characters working there, over--selling. It made me feel dirty. They told me my rear brakes needed to be replaced but Alamo told me they were still at 50%! I had them do a cleanout of my fuel system but that was a mistake. It made my car smoke and smell for days ("its burning all the carbon out"). Who knows what long term damage may result. Alamo was much more professional, priced how you would expect, and all they do is Volvo. I would also never go to a Volvo dealer again as they charge arm & leg. If you want to take good care of your car stick to the Manufacturers service schedule at a small, good specialy shop. Theres at least one good specialty volvo shop in every major city.

Went in yesterday to get the tires I bought here rotated. They said Id really need an appointment for that and they were booked for the day. No big deal, schedule for today 1:00. They said it usually takes 45 minutes. Showed up at about 12:45. Asked if I was waiting. I said I was going up the street for lunch and would be back in about an hour or so. They said they would also call when done. Got back about 2:00 and they hadnt even started the car. Left. Thinking about trying another location. Its always something with this location. Up-selling stuff I dont need or giving half information. When I got back there were 2-3 empty bays, so not sure what they were doing. But certainly now wish Id bought tires down the street.

I called for an appointment at about 2:30 P.M. to have my Firestone tires rotated; I was in no particular hurry. I was told if I came in quickly by the desk person, a Mr. Keeber (spelling?), it could be done right away today, 06/16/2015. I arrived within in 15 minutes. After starting the work order Mr. Keeber informed me they had become suddenly busy and they might be able to get the rotation done by 6:00 P.M. I politely reminded him that I had called and he had told me he would do the rotation soon after I arrived. He did give me a blank look; he obviously needs training on customer service. I left, and will let everyone I know to go somewhere else for tires and service. Willard Eames

This auto shop is by far the best Ive come across since living in Portland. The staff are very friendly and they care about their customers! I took my car in for a overdue brake job with a limited budget. Turns out that I had done over 250.00 more dollars worth of damage then I could afford. The Firestone general store manager was so awesome. They were more worried about my safety rather than the $$. When all was said and done, I walked out of there with what needed to be done, at a price I could afford. I'm definatly taking all my car woes here in the future. If you want a shop that is going to treat you right and is very knowledgable... Look no further!!

Funny experience. Manager confronted me about a bad review I never posted and told me I should post a better review... Bad idea because this is what happens. This happened on a return trip because their shoty battery wasnt holding a charge... Worth a good review? First visit was crap anyways (shoulda left a bad review). Took them an extra hour to get to my appointment. Once done I was told my car was basically falling apart and near everything needed work (I know enough to know this is an exaggeration) and my brakes were one thousandth of an inch (.001) too far gone to qualify for their brake promo (how convenient) Rip-off artists. There! Now you have a bad review.
