I used Two Men & a truck services about 6 months ago. I waited to write this review because I did not want to write it while upset, offended and angry. The Move: Two Men & a truck were hired to pick up my belongings on a Tuesday and store in them in a climate controlled storage for a month. They were also supposed to pick up my items from the storage on Friday and bring them to my new apartment that same day when that month was up. Pros: The guys moving my items were friendly and took the boxes down the stairs by hand (on the initial move). Pros: The day after I found out my items were not in climate controlled storage as I paid for but instead sitting on a truck in SC Late May heat, the assistant manager listened to me express my concern regarding my electronics and attempted to make me feel better by taking $50 off of the storage part of the move. Cons: They did not use blankets for my furniture. Cons: They took my items out of storage about 2 days in advance (without telling me) and had it sitting on the back of a truck. During those days, it was approximately 93 degrees in SC so inside the truck temperatures naturally spiked much higher. Cons: My furniture was damaged. 1 box crushed in on 1 corner. Cons: Damaged claim was handled poorly. Cons: I heard conflicting stories regarding my furniture damage. One week, it was the movers saw the damage and forgot to fill out the damage report. Then the following week it was, they saw the damage and pointed it out to me. But stories were false but the scratches on my new apartment walls and the sliver of wood I found in my new apartment tell the truth in my opinion. Cons: Because my items had sat outside in the truck for a day or 2, some of the first things I started unpacking were my electronics. My xbox power adapter had melted in spots and was sticking to the inside of the xbox box when I opened it. It was still sticky in the melted spots. I provided pictures. However, the person handling my damage claim response was his looks the exact same way. Cons: The worst part of this whole ordeal was it was implied (more than once) that my claim was false and that I just wanted money from them. So first my items were damaged and then my character was being insulted. It was like rubbing salt in a wound. Overall, my experience with the company was a negative one. After going through this experience and speaking with a lawyer, I have learned a few things. Lessons Learned 1. Get things in writing. Verbal promises are not easy to prove unless your state allows you to record phone conversations without the other parties knowledge. 2. Inspect items carefully when delivered. No seriously, look at every corner, each box, on the back of items and furniture. 3. Pay close attention to the contracts that you are signing. 4. Look into getting moving insurance and do not let them convince you that their guys are awesome and rarely damage things. 5. Also, do not let them convince you that they are willing to give you free coverage and that it doesnt need to be on the estimate. I looked online and asked around before choosing Two Men & A Truck. 2 of my friends expressed a negative view of this company but 1 was a different Two Men & a truck located in NC. The other worked with U-haul and so it wasnt his own experience but rather customers that come in to rent trucks. However, I wish I had of listened and went with a different company. I am not saying they are the worst moving company in the world. However, I am saying it will be my last time using Two Men & A Truck. I did not find them to be honest or willing to fix their mistakes. I understand that people must attempt to take advantage of them all the time with damage claims but that does not mean every customer should be treated like a con man.

The office was great. The movers were on time, but they left to the new location without notice and missed one whole room. I didnt know they were leaving until I heard the truck drive off. Both my boyfriend and I were shocked that they just left. We went to the new house and found them waiting for us. I told them they didnt tell us they were leaving and apparently it was up to 30ish guy to do so. He didn’t. Fortunately my boyfriend has a pickup truck & I didn’t have a strict time frame to be out. Once we arrive the 30ish guy was carrying in my formal dining table & I saw large deep gouges in the top. I became nauseous. The 30ish guy said he didn’t do it. He said it was like that before they got there. Not owning up to it was a response I would expect from a child, and it made both of us angry. The 22 year old man saw my furry and said the company would take care of it & not to worry. He said they would fix the table or pay for it. He was like a spokesman for Two Men and a Truck. He was very comforting. Two Men and a Truck should have him cloned. When all was said and done, my table was scratched to hell, my office table base was broken, and the glass was missing from my china cabinet. The base of my office table was welded back together, they found the glass shelves (they were left on the truck) and my dining room table was repaired to substandard. The move took less time than estimated because I had a room full of stuff left behind that I had to move myself. Disappointing to say the least.

The drivers/movers did a great job. They were on time, respectful of my belongings and did the move in less time then expected which resulted in a lower price. They were very thorough and even made sure I checked the truck for anything left. This was a local move from a temporary apartment to our new home. We also had all of our things in storage moved from another state and that was a nightmare. I wish that I had the option to have used Two Men & a Truck for the long distance move instead of United/Mayflower/Nilson Van & storage. The people int he office that answer the phones could not have been more helpful and courteous. After having to cancel and reschedule my local move four times due to problems with the closing, the girl I spoke to said "Im so sorry you have been treated so badly by the seller, but whatever youve been through, that will not be your experience with us. I promise you that" And she was right, but just hearing that really helped me get through and bad situation. Thank you for being good at what you do and doing your job!

We cannot begin to tell you how wonderful our Two Men and A Truck experience was. The young men were delightful, arrived early, and were most accommodating in every way. I was unable to help my daughter and her roommate exit the apartment they shared the last three years and move to the new one the next day. From my first phone call to the paying of the fee, your company and its representatives took all the worry and frustration from all of our shoulders. We didnt need to worry about a thing and their items were safe overnight. The roommates mother who was able to be there but unfamiliar with your company was so thrilled. She was delighted to share the nominal expense and exclaimed it was the best money she had ever spent. Please know how grateful we are and we will certainly engage your company again, as well as recommend it to others.
