I have moved many times in the last 20 years with Sorensen Moving and Storage and have always had a good experience until this last move, which was from TN to Florida in June 2015. The crew did a great job, showed up on time and finished all the packing and loading in one day. My belongings were moved into Sorensens “climate controlled” warehouse in Melbourne, FL. During the year that my items were in storage, I once paid for warehouse access to remove a few unboxed items. I discovered that there were a few items in my crates that did not belong to me. So I told the warehouse employee to remove those items because someone will be looking for them. In September 2016, they delivered my belongings to my new home. They also tried to deliver someone elses belongings, including a sofa, shoes, and some other items, and I refused them. After unpacking, I realized I was missing some things (coats, clothes, some tools, lawn equipment, and some small kitchen appliances), which I can only imagine were delivered to someone else. I also discovered molded lamp shades and books stuck together and mildewed (climate-control?) Additionally, I found that several pieces of my furniture were dirty and/or damaged (ie., my buffet had a broken leg, gouges in the top, and blue moving blankets stuck into the stain). I took photos of the damage, as did the delivery crew. When I told Sorensen all of this, the claim processor sent me a claim form and told me that my claim would be processed in 30 days. I submitted my claim, after which they sent a furniture repair man out to assess the damage. Without discussing anything with me, he told Sorensen that most of the damage was old and predated the move, which is not true. Since then, I have called a number of times to try to find out the status of my claim. Initially, I was told by the claim processor that she had to get help because she had never seen a claim with so many missing items. After not hearing anything for a while, I left a message with the office manager, and then later with the owner asking for assistance with my claim. I was afraid that the “trail” for my missing items was growing cold. A couple of weeks later, the dispatcher called and rudely told me that I needed to stop calling and harassing them, and that if I “behaved” he would send me the reimbursement for the cleaning of my two sofas, and he would repair two pieces of furniture, and he might compensate me in some way for the lost items. He told me he would have it settled and off his desk by the 15th of November. I have heard nothing since. Here it is mid December, and I still have not heard anything. I share this experience to warn others not to do business with this company.

I put household goods into storage a few years ago at Sorensen on Eau Gallie Blvd before returning to the DC area for work. I liked the fact that they were locally owned and operated and that they had a good reputation. All dealings with them, ranging from billing to delivery of goods in motion as well as goods in storage, have been exceptional. Everyone Ive dealt with has been fair, respectful, and professional. The duo that delivered my household goods arriving from VA into temporary living space in FL was great. JD and Ron teamed efficiently and went out of their way to accommodate my needs. The delivery went quickly and smoothly and nothing was damaged. Jaclyn coordinated all moving details. She was prompt and thorough. Again, she went out of her way to accommodate me by attempting to pull items from long term storage for delivery with the items from VA. Though not possible, she informed me immediately and delivered as promised. Jamie and Steven, the crew who delivered the longer term storage items was just as efficient, professional, and friendly. Again, nothing was damaged. Moving is stressful. This transition put me into temporary space so I plan a more permanent move at the end of the year. Im grateful to be working with a company that seemingly strives to exceed expectations. Thanks Sorensen - you seem to be well managed throughout your organization.

Beware of the insurance coverage! This company is extremely deceitful, they marked every piece of furniture I have as badly worn, scratched, or dented. Of course all my furniture is not damaged and some pieces were even brand new. Then use this as an excuse to not honor your claim because (they say it was damaged before it was shipped) The sheet is every hard to read and with the stress of moving I missed this and foolishly signed. I only had three things damaged (not a big claim at all) and they flat out refused to do anything. They even forgot my safe at the house and had to send it via FedEx. When it arrived it was badly damaged. I called as soon as I received the package and they indicated they would cover it. When the claim was submitted they told me FedEx would have to handle it. This is a very shady company! Its a shame.. Be careful hiring them!!

We used Sorenson yesterday to do a local move from one 2 story home with delivery to two different homes. This was after my husband suffered a torn bicep from lifting heavy furniture prior to them coming. Not only was it efficient and without incident, the movers were able to complete the move in less time than quoted so we saved money! I highly recommend Allied Sorenson for your next move whether it be local, long distance, a single item or full truck. They do it all. The emergency room sees a lot of people with back injuries and torn muscle from trying to accomplish what these pros do every day! Leave it to them!

Insurance does not cover "mysterious dissapearance". Be warned, if anything comes up missing and wasnt specified on the inventory Sorensen wont cover you. This means you need to list EVERY SINGLE ITEM if you value it at all. Most of our boxes were labelled "living room items" or "game system" and the like. When my iPod and sunglasses went missing Sorensen said they wont cover it. It didnt help that we had three different crews who would show up completely uninformed by corporate. "They didnt tell us that" was a common thread among them. Beware.

One star is too many. We used this company several years ago during a corporate move. It was the worst experience I could have imagined. Several items were stolen and broken . I had to call the police before we even left Melbourne. They stole the cash from my kids piggy banks. It only got worse as they were late and broke furniture and other items. The owner of the company personally called me to apologize but did absolutely NOTHING to remedy our situation. Any other moving company is better than this one.

I thought that I had picked a reliable company. However, I was frustrated and exhausted from this company. From beginning with only one young man sent to pack my entire household to a driver who lost my belongings and failed to set up my piano and buffet correctly. The driver refused to check off my items by number. He insisted that all of my boxes and furniture were delivered. I foolishly signed the receipt. That was the beginning of the end of my negotiations. I would never, recommend Allied to my worst enemy!!
