Today I went to this great clips and was helped by Carlos. I had been having a horrendous day and decided that the time had come to donate my hair. I needed a pick-me-up and finally biting the bullet and lopping it off to give to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Foundation seemed like the right thing to do to turn my day around. I knew the donation day would be here, but I hadnt really planned on when. I decided on today. And Carlos decided that wasnt the case. I asked for a shampoo and cut, and explained that I needed one solid pony tail which was eight inches or longer for the donation. As Im a dude and did not intend to leave with long hair, I assumed that we could pull several small pony tails from different parts of my head and wrap them into one conglomerated pony tail at the end, which I could then mail into the program. I explained to him that the hair had to be shampooed before sending it in, so he shampooed me, which he sure seemed to enjoy. Then we headed off to the chair. Where he immediately put some sort of product in my hair. This is where I should have said, "hey, thanks but no thanks, Im out." But I didnt do that. Carlos cut off one pony tail, nearly ten inches long. He laid it on a towel on his vanity. Then another, and he banded the two together, tangling them only slightly. No biggie, yet. Then he cut off the third, which he banded with the first two, tangling them into a total mess. He repeated with the fourth, leaving me with a wad of hair which I spent two years growing that I would be embarrassed to offer as a "donation" to anyone. I think Im going to have to get contacts just so I can see what people are doing when theyre cutting my hair. I cant just re-do this tomorrow. I spent nearly two years growing this with the intent to use it to better someone elses life. Instead, I spent $20 on a mediocre haircut and an overwhelming feeling of failure. Thanks Carlos.

The hairstylist I had was very friendly and did a good job. However, I had purchased a groupon coupon and had never used it before. My printer wasnt working but it came up with the coupon number, so I brought my laptop with the reciept showing that I had purchased the coupon and the number. The girl at the desk said that it would be fine and I would be able to use it. However I did not get the services that the coupon said, and when it was time to check out the manager was EXTREMELY RUDE. I have worked in customer service for a very long time, by the time I was 17 I had recieved a regional award from my company and flowers from a customer, I know what good service takes and I couldnt believe how horrible the manager was. She insulted me, tried making me look stupid, walked away while I was talking to her, didnt offer any solutions except that I would have to pay the whole thing and go print and come back and she would refund me. I am sure she had a printer, a smart phone, internet access but didnt offer anything to help. I have a second coupon for my husband and we will be going across town because I dont want roseanne (the manager) to have our business because she was horrible. I cannot believe that she is in charge of a business and if I were corporate I would remove her immediately because of lack of professional attitude and poor values of business that she represents the company with. If you want a good haircut but want to be treated like crap, go here.

I needed a cut when my usual stylist was off on vacation. While shopping in Old Town, Google Maps pulled up Great Clips and I saw other reviewers said Brittany was really good. I walked in with no appointment and asked a beautiful lady behind the counter if Brittany was there — I was talking to her. She proceeded to cut my hair and, wow, "intuitive" is the word for her. With only a brief description about my artistic background, she totally picked up on exactly what would work well for me. She inspired my trust by demonstrating her competence and I was able to relax knowing that my hair was in safe, artistic and highly competent hands. At the end, she was excited about the cut, and you know artists just dont get excited unless what they do is really good. Id recommend her to anyone. Besides talented and intuitive, Brittany is also gracious and friendly. Great Clips lived up to its name. I will be back.

I went in to get my hair shampooed and cut, which I thought would be easy enough. I had been sick for a while, been to the hospital and all that, and so my hair was not in the best shape. When I went to get my hair shampooed, the lady inspected my hair, told me it was very dry and flakky (her word exactly) and refused to wash it. I had told her my situation and she showed no sympathy, just said she wasnt going to wash it so I just had to leave. It was an awful, humiliating experience and I am never going back there again. The hairstylist barely knew English and there were mostly men there getting haircuts. The other hairstylist didnt even acknowledge my presence. I wouldnt recommend this place at all.

My haircut was ok, but not so good. But my boyfriends haircut turned out awful. His hairdresser was this talkative lady with pink hair and she kept blabbering away with the other staff. The way she cut looked like she had absolutely no training in the field. Her attitude was also very bad and nonchalant towards her job. When he asked her to use a shorter trimmer she just stared at him with a "raised eyebrows" expression, as if she was getting paid for just having her presence there. I wish these people had a better understanding of what their job is in the first place. If u ever go there make sure u dont let her lay a hand on your hair, or be one of her own kind.

I went in with pictures (attached) and I got something completely different. I hate confrontation so I played it off like it was okay, but honestly I look like Im wearing a cheap wig with how bad this haircut is. Went in 3 months ago where they messed up my husbands hair. But his grows back quickly. Mine doesnt. It took a year and a half to get it to the length it was. And all of that is gone. I just wanted a simple haircut. Its way shorter than we agreed on. Its even, sure, but too short. Weird layering makes it impossible to get the cut I was looking for. It should have just been a straight cut just above my shoulders. Not this.

I felt greeted as I walked in to the salon. However, I asked for them clip it all the way down since I trimmed it myself and had a misstep. The stylist ignored this and told me why it would look better another way. I listened but the front of my hair still looks Ive had plugs with little hair nubs. Also my short sideburns are about 3/4 inch off in height when compared with each other. Ill go back tonight after work for what I asked for and maybe a refund as well. This salon was good in the past, but they wont let anyone be helped unless you give your phone number. Some might see this as invasive. Lately the quality is declining.
