As the technical manager for AAA Locksmith I would like to address a couple of reviews here that are misleading. First, it is not our policy to try to quote a price on a job for which we have no service tech available. I have spoken to the dispatch manager and she told me that she was firm but not rude with the reviewer who made this claim. He was the party that was becoming rude. Demanding that she try to quote him a price. As a matter of policy, we try not to guess at prices over the phone anyway! This is extremely inaccurate, unless the customer is a lock expert and can provide us with a detailed analysis of the problem! As to the price being quoted by Walmart and Home Depot for transponder keys. These keys are either clones or do not have a transponder chip at all. Either of these cases could result in a lower price. It does not reflect any crookedness on the part of the owning manager of AAA Locksmith. There are MANY variables which affect car key prices! Modern car keys are very complicated and come in a variety of configurations for each and every model! Some have remote buttons, some not, some require expensive programming codes, etc. Never the less, I can tell you that I have serviced MANY car ignitions in the parking lots of said stores because a key became jammed! Please feel free to get your cheap car keys made there. I will be happy to repair the damage. We strive to provide the very best in professional West U locksmith service. I believe that our skill and service have no equal. This type of commitment is not cheap nor should it be. As a customer, if one is looking for the "cheapest" price, then be prepared to be ripped off monetarily and to have poor work standards applied to your particular job. Nothing good is cheap. Nothing cheap is good. Simple. Which leads me to address Mr. McFather. This gentleman called from out of town and claimed that I told him that he could not afford to speak to me. That is in fact not accurate. This man was in the business of selling unprogrammed car keys over the internet and wanted to hire me, the real local Houston Locksmith, to go out and program the keys. After ascertaining what he was accustomed to paying a real local Bellaire Locksmith to go and program keys that he mailed from out of town to his clients, I told him that that fee was not enough to pay for the conversation that we just had. This man is paying real local Houston locksmiths a mere "$50.00-$80.00" to go out and program keys to sophisticated automobiles. This is ludicrous from a service provider standpoint and it is unfortunate that some gentlemen will do this for him. The machines that are required to perform this task cost upwards to $6,000.00 and require annual fees of several thousands to maintain, not to mention the very high expense of vehicle maintenance, fuel, etc. Furthermore, a part of the necessary profit that a real local locksmith earns is derived from selling the key to his local client. By selling the key from out of town, This "key seller" is denying the local Sugar Land locksmith that portion of his necessary profit, which adds insult to the injury of his slave wage fee. By selling car keys cheaply over the internet, he also causes the client to falsely assume that todays sophisticated car keys are cheap. There is no way to avoid the expense of replacing lost keys! This out of town internet key seller is simply not assuming the responsibility of the total cost of providing the complete service. $225 for an after hours (8:45PM) call to fix the tumblers on our commercial door lock. Literally took the technician 4:00 minutes from start to finish. I thought that was bit excessive seeing as how I had the entire lock re-keyed and 6 copies of the keys provided on a Saturday (5:00PM) for about $140 only a month earlier by another company (they obviously didnt do something right, but their quoted price to do the service I requested was in line with 3 other companies I called). I complained and the price was lowered to $185, but I still thought that excessive. I understand it is after hours, and I also understand it is tough to quote things over the phone since you dont know what you are going to find until you get there, but after hours they should probably at least give a disclaimer that there is a MUCH more expensive trip charge. I also understand, as a business owner, that bad reviews can be damaging and it is tough to defend yourself. I appreciate the drop in price, but still feel that more disclosure on the front end could have prevented some sticker shock that I experienced on this one. As the owner of AAA mentioned in another response, you usually only get reviews when you do something wrong, as opposed to the thousands of satisfied customers who fail to keep the promise to write a good review when they are happy. Unfortunately that is just the nature of the beast. Make someone happy, they will tell a few people. Piss someone off, and they will make sure to tell anyone that will listen. As far as the actual service, it was fast and I assume sufficient (havent tried the lock myself, but will see how it holds up in service). My gripe is the seemingly excessive charge for the service. This company is not far from my location, so they were a logical choice when looking for lock service. I know the tech could have been anywhere in the city, but trip charges should be based more on distance from main office as opposed to where the tech is coming from. Im not 100% sure the trip charge is the culprit in this instance since the bill was not actually broken down for me (I was on the phone with the dispatcher, and not at the location where the tech had the actual invoice he created). Im just assuming the trip charge was what was so high since the actual work at my location took very little time.

I needed my 2006 Nissan Murano keyless entry key done so I went there and asked if they had any remotes and they said i needed a 3 button remote when they had a 4 button remote. They said they would change it if i bought the remote. I bought the remote and I drove there, just saying that place is far from my home around a 30 min drive, there was a guy there he was new or something and he didnt know exactly how to do it. He said the main pro guy was on vacation and would return saturday. i said ok try and he said ok it costs 55 dollars but im going to try without charging you because i dont know how to exactly do it. he tried and he said the main guy would come saturday (that day was thursday). he didnt charge me. I went saturday 30 mins again and there was pest control so that wasnt really their fault even though i called earlier that day. i went today (monday) the 3rd time and called in advance and he said come at 11:30-12:00 ish and i was there at 12:30 because it is far and when it was my turn i asked if he could program and he said it costs 90 dollars and theres and big percent that it wont work because you didnt buy the remote from us. i said well the guy before said that you guys dont have the 3 button remote and told us to order it and we did and now we are here and you said 55 not 90. then he said well i can try but you have to pay me 90 either if it works or doesnt. I just left without getting me remote programed and will call another company and get it done. These people lie and scam. The stand-in guy was really nice and gave us really good feedback and when the main guy was here he said its 90 dollars and said the other guy was new and he didnt know prices. Completely waste of 3 hours and not counting the wait times. Do not recommend
