If there is a minus 5-star indicating of absolutely a no-no, I will use it but since one-star is the only one I have here to demonstrate the degree of my dissatisfaction and frustration, I have no choice. When things are going well and no issues, all parties are happy. But when something is not going well and there are issues, this is the time the true virtue of human beings is tested. It has occurred to me today (08/14/17)! I have taken my car to Christen Brothers in Lewisville (TX) for an oil change on June 16, 2017 and have them checked the brakes as well. My car hit a curve last weekend, ending up with a flat tire and a damaged wheel. When trying to put the replacement tire on AAA roadside services told me that one of the wheel lock nuts was “round-off “and cannot be unscrewed by them and that I have to take it to a tire store to “break it” and replace the wheel stud. I realized that the only possible cause for this broken lock nut was when the mechanic removed the wheels and performed a brake check in the June oil-change service, so naturally Christen Brothers in Lewisville should be responsible to fix it. I took my car to Discount Tires Lewisville, and bought a set of 4 brand new wheels and a $45-wheel lock nut kit including the key. Discount Tire put all these new wheels on, and told me to go to Christen Brothers to get the broken wheel stud replaced. I went to this location around 11 AM Monday. They set up an appointment at 2 PM and told me that the job can be done in an hour while I am waiting, it turned out to be two hours. After I picked up my car and found that the mechanic forgot to put my wheel lock nut key back to the glove box, I had Matt (who released the car) to get the key for me from the mechanic and told Matt why I was there to replace the ruined wheel stud. Matt suggested I talked to their manager/owner to improve their service for their customers. When I conducted the conversation with this “manager/owner”, he adamantly denied that they have done the oil change for me, and then said they were supposed to keep the wheel lock key in their shop. These are ridiculous because not only they should have a service record in their computer for the oil change service but also there is a sticker from them attached to the car’s windshield showing the date for the next service; and the wheel lock nut key is my property because I paid for it and, what if I have a breakdown on the freeway with a flat tire and need to put on my replacement tire while the key is in their shop? This “manager/owner” kept arguing regarding the above two issues and furiously insisting his shop is flawless and their right to keep my wheel lock key, I was so upset and then told him that I will never go back to his shop, this “manager/owner” responded with very strong body languages and yelled at me loudly in front of his employees and two other customers to get out of his shop. Christen Brother as a chain store used to have good reviews and reputation for customer service but not this one in Lewisville at this time. I hereby advise any of their future customers not to come to Christen Brothers Automotive in Lewisville. This "manager/owner" is absolutely a bigot bullying his customer and a liar not being able to be trusted with and counted on. Their workers may be good such as Matt but this "manager/owner" is beyond reason and lack of any decent human-quality, and because of this once any service issue occurs, you are in big trouble and have no way to get through. I was told that this “manager/owner” is new to the shop while taking over the business in April 2017. I reserve my right to take legal actions against Christen Brothers Automotive in Lewisville, TX.

I generally prefer to do everything I can on my car, however I couldnt afford to be stranded a bit far from home. I needed to do my brakes, but my wheel studs broke off of my car due to being overtightened when I got my tires replaced by a small tire shop. The first one broke off, and I called around for pricing immediately. I was hit with, "I dont know, like 50-300 bucks per wheel," or an assortment of other "maybe" prices. Christian Brothers, when I called, provided me an estimate of around $180, but it could be less than that if they didnt need to remove the wheel hub or if there were no issues with the brake rotors. They gave me a description of what COULD be required, but told me they would avoid any extra work. The vagueness of other shops and the extraordinarily expensive quote from the Honda dealership led me to go to Christian Brothers at this point. They were friendly, verbose, and seemed to know what would be going on with my car even at the front desk. Got my car in to the shop and was given a courtesy shuttle back to a friends house while they worked on the car. A few mis-steps made it take a little longer than expected, but it was still done that very same day. Their write-up in the notes was clear and explained everything fully to me. I paid less than I feel I would have at any other shop that I would have had to deal with. The wheel studs in my car, I could have replaced. I would have had to bang on them with a hammer, potentially destroying my wheel bearing. Im not in the mood to do that, so I let professionals handle it and they did a great job. I was able to finish my brakes without even the slightest hiccup the next day. I would HIGHLY recommend going here. You may not get the lowest quote on the phone, but theyre going to do everything they can (SAFELY AND RESPONSIBLY) to come in under that number.

An example of how they must try to rip people off all the time: After being screwed $40 to connect a hose (my bad, I agreed), I received an estimate (from their software) of 8 hours labor to replace 8 control arms. An hour for each control arm. Each one should take an average of 10 minutes from someone who has experience. Even adding some more grace time, if it takes you 5 times that amount of time, then you dont have any business working on the car or charging $100/hr. Auto repair shops must believe they are performing rocket science to ask for that kind of hourly rate. They also had the nerve to quote me a price of $777 on the control arms. Really? Sure, might as well try to screw me on the parts as well. You can buy a set from a quality parts company on Amazon for $190. You think you deserve a 400% markup for ordering parts? Their hourly rate would be fair if they actually charged for the amount of time it took to complete the job and not go by some inflated estimate found in some labor guide software. If you want to represent the name of Christ, you dont get to screw people with impunity. If the estimate had been half as much, it would still have been overpriced, but at least it wouldnt have caused this review.

What a mistake using this place to repair my vehicle. I drove my vehicle here for an diagnostic $85. Three days later the guys call me chuckling on the phone saying he dont know whats wrong but the truck wont run anymore. They wanted to charge me another $500-$600 to remove more parts. They said no fuel getting into cylinders they would have to remove the intake to check the fuel injectors which is BS. You can check them without removing the intake. After they messed up my vehicle during there three day diagnostic test they said they wouldnt charge me the $85 but I was responsible for the $130 tow truck fee to tow my vehicle that I drove to there shop that they messed up during there diagnostics. I said no that I needed to speak to the shop owner about this, and as I was leaving they had a stranger run out to me with my keys and a receipt stating they werent going to charge me for the diagnostic. They messed it up. If they cant figure out what they did to fix it or get it running as it was when I brought it they should tow back to my residence or another shop that actually knows how to diagnose & repair vehicles. Pretty shady deal!
