Feeling concerned but hopeful. Within five weeks this is the third time Ive had to bring my truck back in because I feel that the problem has yet to be diagnosed correctly. My truck was beginning to have problems going into gear, catching whatever it catches these clutch valves within the transmission? Or is there something else?. Having a current warranty with this business I chose to take it back to rule out the transmission issues. My first visit I was told that my transmission fluid was simply low 2 quarts and that they replaced it and charged me only for refilling. It was strange to me because when I check the transmission fluid prior it was it was showing full? When I asked them at the time why was it showing for when it was low 2 quarts, they said it could be many things perhaps an air bubble? Ok... Truck ran fine for about a week and a half until it was doing it all over again. So I took it back After having their mechanic ride with me and hearing the problem first hand he reacted by stating that it had to be something to do with the pump. Which is covered in my warranty which expires end of next month. When we arrived back at the shop we lifted the hood and recognized that the transmission fluid was going into my coolant and they stated that my radiator needed to be replaced and after $622 spent I was back out on the road feeling confident that everything should be fine. Yesterday while driving down the highway stopped at a stoplight, when the light turned green my truck failed to go. Its just reved up. I could not get into any gear. I had to have a friend help me tow it to the shop. I borrowed a work van so that I can get home, and called shop to remind them what their mechanic told me upon my second visit. The management responded saying it could not possibly be that and said the mechanic had "misspoken". My question is how do you know that for sure yet havent looked at it? Im hopeful to write a five star review after all is said and done. Until then I will remain skeptical. Ill keep you posted… UPDATE! These guys came through for me. Thank you Mike Adams and Doug! I didnt realize reviews got noticed since this is my first time posting one. Well, it wasnt the pump after all! But it was definitely something internal within the transmission. Turns our water got into my transmission clutch valves from my radiator and created my "no go" problem. Hard to tell if it was due to the leak prior to them replacing my radiator last week or from it being replaced. My warranty on one end expired however on the other end it did not (mileage vs. years). Feeling unlucky until Doug called this afternoon. He gave me the "bad news", telling me about the issue. Then he gave me the "good news"...??? Im thinking... "theres good news?" These folks HONORED MY WARRANTY! You have no idea how relieved I am. I spent the last 24 hours scrambling to finish some work orders to be able to afford to get my truck back. Scheduling jobs around to gain cash flow quicker....I was beginning to think I wont have my truck back for another few weeks having spent my last $ available on the radiator replacement. Im a self employed/ jack of all trades guy. When Im not active Im not earning a living. My truck is a necessity to my earning a living. So, pending the outcome I was planning on doing what I did before when they had to rebuilt my transmission back in June 2015. Pay installments until I could release my mended old friend from their fenced in lot behind the shop. Well...not this time, they did a customer right! I appreciate it. I needed some good news today. I had a family member involved in an accident over the past weekend and learned they had to take him on life support this morning. Thank you! Mike Schikora

If you are having transmission problems. TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP! I had my 08 Ram 1500 stuck in 3rd gear. A guy at Autozone hooked up a code reader and told me it was throwing a transmission solenoid code. That I should flush the transmission. The truck has 150,000 miles on it. I decided to get online and came across The Transmission Shop in McKinney. I called and spoke with Allen. I told him what was going on and what AutoZone suggested. He told me that was the worst thing I could do. He instructed me to bring it by, they would hook it up without charge and see what was going on. I took the truck down there, he checked the code, checked the fluid off the dipstick and told me I may only need some solenoids, but he couldnt know for sure until they dropped the pan. I told him of my last experience where the shop came back with an astronomical amount for a rebuilt transmission and when I told them "no", they told me Id have to pay them $800 to have my car towed off their shop. He told me that he would find out what was going on with the truck, call me, tell me an estimate, if I said yes then they would do the work. If I told them no, he would put the pan back on and not charge me. He found out 3 of the solenoids were bad and a 4th was on its way out. His first parts company quoted him what he felt was a high amount, so he shopped around for a better deal. He quoted me $675 and explained that this may not fix the problem, but due to how clean the fluid was, there was a good chance. I gave him the go ahead, his mechanic replaced the solenoids, tested it and it fixed the issue. I ended up paying $680 out the door. He also warrantied the solenoids, where if my transmission fails, he will replace them at no cost for the next 6 months. I will never use another transmission shop, and have already been telling people that if they run into an issue with their transmission, to give him a call. He did everything he said he would do, in a timely manner, kept me up to date and gave me a lot of information. Its good to know that there are still shops out there that want to SERVICE their customers rather than shaft them! Just want to say "Thank You" to Allen and his crew. The only other time I had to use a transmission shop, I had a terrible experience.

I am the office manager for a commercial plumbing company in Garland. I really didnt know much about that place until one of my employees needed his transmission replaced. I dealt with them brief when I needed to call being we (the company) agreed to pay the bill. (I might add was very easy, just logged online and paid it).......... Before we could even get his truck out and paid for, MY differential went out on my suburban in the parking lot of my job, I called the Transmission shop, being I had a truck there for my employee. They towed my truck and fixed it with NO problems. Did I get a call back when they said they would, NO, but I called back and each time they were nice that does not mean they are not a great repair shop, they are BUSY. Jeff was pleasant to deal with, I was not trying to make friends so I guess them not being real extra talkative was fine, AGAIN they had several cars and they were busy. Jeff also did not charge me for the tow, being it was a major repair. I would send ANYONE I know to them, and I PLAN to next time I get asked if I know of a good shop. I also plan to take our fleet there if need be for repairs when needed.
