was quite impressed after talking to these guys on the phone, they seemed sharp. I took my car down for a diagnosis, and was told it would cost $40 per half hour. I get a call 35 min later that they have figured it out, and am charged $90 for the diagnosis? Radiator, hoses, fluid... I spent about $600 total. Two weeks later Im having the same problems. Take it back and discover that the mechanic had overlooked the cracked gasket on the radiator they had just replaced. Their fault, no charge, great. A couple of weeks later, leaking fluid again and fluctuations with the heat. My husband checks it out and finds that the power steering belt had not been tightened back up and all 3 hoses were loose. A couple of weeks later, still leaking fluid... So today he took it in AGAIN and we are told that the mechanic who had first worked on our car is no longer with them because he was doing half-assed jobs on cars to get them through quickly. They had my car for a few hours and I guess did a bunch of tests and were on the phone with the manufacturer forever and yada yada. Come to find out it is what that mechanic refers to as a design flaw with older Nissans. I understand that "diagnosing" can be a process of elimination but I would think they would the wrong fluid being pushed back through the engine, and then a belt, a gasket and some hoses. Not to mention the admission of the "slacker" mechanic. Now what I need will cost me three to six thousand dollars to fix, which is more than the value of my car. Had my car been diagnosed properly I would not have put $600 into it to be able to drive it for a few more months. AND the guy has the nerve to say that if we buy a used car to bring it to them for a look over for $60 before we pay for it! Then when we picked up the car, my husband went in for the key. The owner didnt even come out to talk to him and as my husband was leaving he walked past the owner and said, "Have a nice day", to which my husband was ignored. So much for that customer service. It is ALL just bad! I do not enjoy leaving bad reviews but this one IS deserved!

I stopped in to get a 2nd opinion on my muffler system. Told the manager or owner that I had a trans installed and now my muffler system is loud. That Ive been getting the run around from the other mechanics who did the work. And Id like them to check it out and let me know if the muffler system needs to be fixed or what ever. I was there before 8am to be the 1st. So there where 3 employees and it was slow. I being the only customer there. The guy up front really seamed mad that I was getting a 2nd opinion. I handed him my keys and went and sat down. About 15 mins goes by and finally he asked to have my truck checked out. So I though sweet Ill be out of here soon. Just a few more mins. No truck sat for another 15 mins. So finaly after 30 mins then they pulled my truck out and parked it up front. I figured he would have cam and explained whats going on with the noise. So he sat down at the front desk working on the computer. I thought maybe hes typing up a list of what needs to be fixed. Then he takes a few phone calls. Then after that he goes back to the computer. So now Ive been there 45 mins. He finally gets up comes over to me hands me my keys and says muffler looks good. Turns around and walks away. So I stood there for a min and was dumbfounded. 45 mins and I get that?? I look back at the guy and asked, so u had me sitting here that whole time for that?? I think he was mad because I said a mechanic is rippen me off and I need a 2nd opinion. If your not the mechanic rippen me off you shouldnt be getting butt hurt over the situation. Now Im going to go get my truck inspected at the DMV. Lets see if my muffler system passes its inspection.

I took my car in back in March because my check engine light was on. They suggested a tune-up and letting them have a while to look over things. I had them preform the tune-up and got a lecture about the place Id had my oil changed and a list of about $2500 in work they felt needed to be done. Which would have been fine, but none of it made sense! They told me my brakes needed to be replaced in the next week for "safety" - Id literally just passed the safety inspection which specifically checks your brakes. They told me I needed my timing belt replaced...MY CAR DOESNT HAVE A TIMING BELT!!! I found that out when I took it to the dealer who had to redo the tune-up these guys did because my check engine light came back on again, after that fix it stayed off because that was the issue. This place was recommended to me because they were supposed to have good prices but they made me feel so stupid and taken advantage of. What a disappointing experience. I will never go back and the one good thing this taught me was to educate myself about my vehicle - which I shouldnt have to do because I am not in the car business.

Ive had to come here several times for different problems, and Im always happy when Chad is involved because he takes the time to explain whats going on, what he plans on doing and why, and both cheap and high-quality alternatives for replacing parts. Its always hard to tell when a mechanic is working you over, but this open communication gives me more control over the situation instead of just dropping off my car and hoping for the best. Their solutions arent always a complete fix, but thats just because Chad and his team try to find a more economical solution before suggesting something extreme like replacing an engine. Hes also very open about how long I might be able to last doing "bandaid" fixes instead of repairing the heart of the problem, leaving me in charge of my car with full knowledge of what Im getting myself into. Bottom line: Im very happy to have found this location and would recommend it to anyone whos looking for a trustworthy auto mechanic!

I had Big O put new spark plugs in my truck, Afterwords I heard an exhaust leak that sounded like it was coming from my exhaust manifold. I took my truck back to Big O and asked what they did to my truck as it didnt have the leak before, they told me it was nothing they did and they could fix the leak for me if I wanted to pay $400. I went to a Ford dealer to get a second opnion on how much it would cost to replace the manifold and was told about the same and even had a tech look at it to verify it was indeed the exhaust leaking. A few days later I passed Master Muffler and figured an Exhaust shop might be able to give me a better price, Within 5 min of showing up they had my truck in the bay and the problem fixed. Big O didnt tighten one of my spark plugs all the way. I have been going back for all my car needs the last two years and will as long as I live in the salt lake area. I now live in Sandy and it is worth the drive for a trusted mechanic!!!
