My family, and I have been going to Shadetree Automotive for a very long time now. Theyve always treated us, and our vehicles fairly, and with respect. Theyve not only diagnosed, and fixed whatever weve had issues with with our vehicles, but have also in the past found other issues we had no idea about, then solutions. They did this building a comprehensive, easy to understand "plan of attack" on what should be fixed, and in the order of severity. Never "pushing" work that didnt NEED to be done before it actually did. All the while we knew, and understood that theyve always had fair prices, put in great work, and held our well-being, and interests as customers above everything else. Weve always had great work come from this company, and because of that well not only continue to bring our vehicles to them, but we also tell anyone who needs any type of automotive work done to go to the amazing people at Shadetree Automotive. Specifically this last time I was there was because my new Jeep Patriot kept overheating on the long business trips I take monthly to southern California, and back to Utah. Not only that, but the "check engine" light had just come on. It was all very frustrating for just having bought this vehicle only 2 months prior! While my Jeep was there I dealt with Brian who as a side-note not only treated me curtiously, and with respect, but also took the time to inform me of EXACTLY what the problems were, why they had occured, and why exactly I needed to purchase, and fix what I did. He spent the time, and energy to walk me through the entire process. As a bonus it only took him, and his technicians less than 48 hours to diagnose the issues, and have me back on the road again! Amazing! As an even BIGGER bonus they lent me a very clean Kia so that while I was without my OWN vehicle for those 48 hours I still had the use of a vehicle, and could therefore still run all the errands I needed to, and not miss my doctor appointment. This last part greatly relieved what couldve been a very stressful period. All of these reasons (Brians humanity, and expertise included) are why my family, and I will not only continue to bring our business to Shadetree Automotive, but well also try to get everyone we know to use their services as well. Oh, did I not also mention that my family, and I live in Ogden, and since going to Shadetree means going to Layton its a little out of the way for us? This is how much we love the service there! Keep up the amazing work everyone at Shadetree Automotive, and if youre wondering who YOU should take youre business to? Take it to Shadetree! Just do it already!

WORST EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I recently bought a car from Shadetree Auto (757E HWY 193 Layton, UT 84041)and at first it seemed to be a wonderful experience, but it soon turned into a nightmare. My mother-in-law was the first to look at the car and was told that it had been well taken care of, that it was looked deeply into to make sure everything was working perfectly, and that the small scratches on the bumper would be painted in (which they never were). My husband and I paid good money for this car and were assured that it was a well maintained and reliable car. They failed to notify us that the car had been wrecked and abandoned in a police impound lot and then left sitting in their parking lot for at least six months even after asking about the history of the car. Had we known this, we never would have bought that car. As soon as I drove off of the parking lot I noticed some white smoke coming out of the tail pipe. Not knowing much about cars, my husband and I assumed it was not a big deal as the car was running fine. After a few days of the problem continuously getting worse, we decided to take it to our regular mechanic that we have known and trusted for many, many years. He informed us that the engine needed to be replaced and that we needed to get our money back. My husband called Tom (the manager at Shadetree) and told him this. Tom got very defensive and angry and told my husband that there was no way he could do that. Our mechanic later told us that there was no way that Tom could not have known about this problem unless he hadn’t taken the time to drive it and make sure it was ok. (Tom had told us that he had driven the car for about a week.)We were later informed by our mechanic that the engine was full of gunky old oil and that it looked as if the car had never had an oil change in its life (which is over 100,000 miles). Of course, Tom denied all of this. My husband continued to try to talk to Tom about returning the car or exploring other options and was always treated extremely rudely. Tom told my husband that this was not his problem and that he didnt have to deal with us because he had more important customers to attend to and that he would not help pay for any expense in repairing the car we bought. We have honestly never been treated this badly or dishonestly in our lives. We hope that we can spare other people the frustration that we have been through by spreading the word that this business is NOT honest or trustworthy. WORST EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seeing how I have been accused of writing a review I figured I would. Sheep Vs Free thinker, ShadeTree Vs. “Shady” Tree. I have recent had 4 interactions with “Shady” Tree. The first was to drop my vehicle off where I was ignored as I told them the problem, and was told they would figure it out. The 2nd interaction was with Tom who I understand to an owner of “Shady” Tree. In the 30 minute phone conversation, the first 25 minutes was about unnecessary repairs, the last 5 minutes was about the real reason why I took my vehicle in. The suggestion by Tom was a mechanical fix to an electrical problem, which I said no to. My 3rd interaction was once again with Tom, where I stopped by just to pay and to pick up my vehicle. I was verbally abused and threatened, all because I did not care to listen to list of repair on a 15 year old vehicle that were unnecessary. My 4th interaction was once again with Tom. I call requesting a refund do to their written policy on “Shady” Trees website. I was told I would get a refunded if I listened to Tom. While listening to Tom I was once again verbal abused and told he did not want me or my vehicle back. He was only interest in the person who refereed me, due to him buying some expensive equipment just to service one vehicle. I was then told by Tom, he would not refund me unless I got with a person who wrote a negative review and have them remove it. Needless to say the 4th interaction showed how truly “Shady” they are. The reviews are mainly good due to extortion, bribery, trash talking a customer to another, prompting a good review from others. In my interaction with Tom and “Shady” tree I have learned that the only customers that he wants are Sheep, who will mindlessly do what he suggests so he can fleece them at his pleasure, with unnecessary repairs. Free thinkers who know their cars should stay away from “Shady” tree. You are not welcome, because you will question Tom and the established order of “Shady” Tree.
