Ive now had two TERRIBLE experiences at this Pep boys. Ill explain each in detail but if you arent interested in all that, just know that I would be more confident having a kid from the local high school work on my car than these guys. They are incredibly unprofessional, incompetent, and do not stand by their service. I dont expect everyone to be perfect but if I pay for a service and a mistake is made, I expect an effort to fix that mistake. I received no such effort, no compensation, and no assurance that things would be different in the future. Twice. Avoid this place at all cost! Fool me once: I took my car in because I was experiencing above average wear on my brakes and the responsiveness of my car was concerning. I explained to them in detail what the car was doing and what my concerns were. They took it out for a test drive and did an "inspection". They indicated that they did not find anything out of the ordinary but said that my rear pads needed to be replaced. I found this odd because I had them replaced at a different shop in Arizona less than 6 months prior. I give them the go ahead anyway and after driving my car for a day noticed the problem persisted. Took the car back in and told them to check it out further. They put their "Top guy" on it and after his inspection he again said there was nothing wrong with the brake system but that he suggested we change the front pads as well. I give them the go ahead and leave for a few hours while they do the work. When I come back to retrieve my car no one can find my keys. After waiting for over three hours at the shop while these guys frantically make phone calls to each employee who has come in and out of the shop that day I finally solve the problem for them. They gave my keys to another customer who drove off with a spare set. Turns out im right. Problem is that the other customer lives over 3 hours away. My only spare key is on my significant others keyring who was in New York at the time. I end up stranded without a car for three days while we wait for the other customer to bring my keys back. I was offered no compensation and little by way of apology. I was resigned to never do business with these guys again but 6 months later my brakes are acting up again (surprise). I figure they may still be under warranty so Ill give these guys a second chance. Which brings me to... Fool me twice: I take my car in and explain the situation. I go over my first experience with these guys and many of the employees either remember me or heard about the whole fiasco ("That was you?"). I let them know that Im a bit upset because the original problem was clearly never resolved. They offer to do another inspection for free to see whats going on. It takes them THREE AND A HALF HOURS to inspect my car and print up a work order. They then inform me that my brakes are no longer under warranty and neither is the service. In addition to that they now suggest that I install an entirely new break system including new drums and pads for over $1100. They offer me nothing by way of compensation for their botched labor the first time or all the hassle I dealt with. Ill be taking my car to Steves Intermountain in Provo. Steve is honest and stands by his work. He goes above and beyond to make sure youre satisfied and taken care of. I refuse to even buy windshield wipers at this Pep Boys. Do yourself a favor and buy your parts from the Auto Zone across the street. If you need actual work done go see Steve. These guys are a joke and a bad one at that. -Ben

I should have listened to the other reviews here, but Pep Boys have convenient operating hours and could get me in the same day, so I went against my better judgement. These guys are very unorganized at this location. I made an appointment for 1:00 on a Saturday over the phone. When I got there, they had no clue what was going on and had to re-enter all of the info into the system that I had already given them over the phone. Just trying to get put into the system was a pain. I knew that my emissions werent going to pass due to a check engine light indicating a vacuum leak in the fuel system somewhere. I had requested a smoke test to locate the source of the leak as recommended by other mechanics that I had talked to about it, but who didnt have the machine to preform the test. To keep this brief, I got a call at 5:00 saying that they had done my safety/emissions test saying that it wouldnt pass due to the check engine light. Duh! I already knew that and they were supposed to be fixing the problem so that it would pass. Had they located the source of the vacuum leak? Nope, after 4 hours, they hadnt even preformed the smoke test yet. They said their tech would stay late to get that worked on and that theyd call me. I knew that they closed at 9:00, so when I didnt hear from them, I went down to the store. In a nutshell, they billed me $60 in diagnostic time just to tell me that there was a vacuum leak in the fuel system. They did not do a smoke test and said that they had reset the system and didnt think the check engine light would turn back on. I had already tried that long before I had brought it in to Pep Boys and the light came back on the next day. They didnt listen to anything I had told them about the history of the vehicle either of the two times I registered it into the system, they didnt fix the problem, they didnt do what I had asked them to do with the smoke test, and they didnt have anything new to tell me that I already didnt know. It was a complete waste of time and money. There are a lot more idiotic things that happened with this, including sending me out the door without my keys and with another persons paperwork, but Ill suffice it to say that I have absolutely zero confidence in these guys. I just wanted my vehicle fixed and I didnt care if it cost me $300, but paying them to send me away with nothing was very frustrating. There were 4 guys in the lobby when I again asked questions and they all just had that deer in the headlights look. NOBODY knew what was going on. Theres a complete breakdown of communication at this store. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone, and I wouldnt bring my vehicle into them again.

Very unprofessional. I bought 4 new tires and had them installed. I had a bad air pressure sensor in one tire and they said if I brought them a new sensor, when they were changing the tires they could replace the bad sensor without a problem(because you can only do it when the tire is off). I brought in my car and the new sensor to have the work done and requested that they do not throw away my tires because they will charge you $10 to do so and the old ones still had some tread. When they finished, I picked up my care and it wouldnt read the new tire sensor. I asked the manager and he double checked with the mechanic and they both assured me they installed the new sensor and Id have to take the car to the dealer to get fixed. They also threw away my tires and charged me the $10 to dispose of them. So, I made them go find my old tires, then when I asked about the $10 disposing fee, the sales rep asked "Oh. Did you want me to refund that?" to which I responded "Oh, did you want me to pay for you to throw away the tires you threw away and werent supposed to!" After running all over town and going to the dealer then back to pep boys, I had them take off my tire and low adn behold, they never installed my tire sensor. So, I asked them to install one and they tried to charge me for it when they lost the origional one I gave to them. So, after more haggling they got a new sensor adn isntalled it but never activated it telling me I had to go to the dealer to do that. But, I checked with 3 other pep boys locations and they are supposed to activate the sensor when they install it. They also performed the alignment and charged me for it when I specifically asked them NOT TO! And its not just the employees that make the mistakes because most of the time the manager was the one that made the mistakes. This entire problem has taken 7 trips to pep boys and they never even got it right or offered to go out of their way to fix anything. BOTTOM LINE: terrible service. TERRBILE. Incompetent employees and complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Save yourself the trouble and just go somewhere else. They may have deals on tires from time to time but its not worth the hassle.
