I will be going back to Sun Devil. I had been trusting the Firestone across the street for several years, and then they started trying to sell me crap I did not need. My son also goes to Sun Devil because of their honest business practices. He drives an older car and as most older cars do, it has a lot of problems. One of these problems is the fact that the interior lights dont always turn off when you get out and shut off the motor. He took his car to Sun Devil, and they could not find out what the problem was. They also told him they could keep looking, but would have to charge him for the additional labor. After playing around with it for a while, my son figured out a workaround. While it is true that Sun Devil could not locate the source of the problem, I still give them cudos for not taking advantage of my son by putting more labor into it. I took my truck in for routine oil change, tire rotation, and air filter service. They called me back after I had gotten home and told me that my truck needed a whole bunch of front end/suspension/wheel bearing type work, and it would cost about $900.00 out the door. I had gotten the same report from Firestone across the street, but they quoted about $1600.00. Firestone had mentioned having a loose Pitman arm on my truck, which Sun Devil did not mention. I believe the loose rattle that Firestone had mentioned was the wobble I had in the wheel bearings that Sun Devil replaced. I am not a mechanic, but I do know that my truck drives 100% better than it did before I took it to Sun Devil.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR/TRUCK HERE! First my wife took our truck in to get a simple oil change. She made an appointment When she went in there it took them 2 hours to do an oil change. She had to sit in their make shift waiting area for 2 hours with our 9 month old baby. They tried telling us that we needed all these repairs. They wanted like $300 for some real basic items. We turned them down and took it to a REAL shop. It cost $70 for the same items. Our next encounter was just today. My wife called to make an appointment. They guy told her she didnt need one. She said Are you sure, Last time I needed one? He then said, nope just bring it in and we will get it done. I took the truck in and waited for 10 minutes before being greeted. The guy then helped the lady that came in after me! Then I said I need an oil change, He proceeded to tell me I needed an appointment. I told him we called to make one and was told we didnt need one and to just bring it in. He then told me I could leave it here for 3 hours and they would get to it! Who has three hours to waste? I then asked for an appointment in two days and he said. "Well I am booked until Sat" which was 4 days from now. I then looked at the jiffy lube next door and thought "I bet they would take my business" I then said, No thanks I will go somewhere else. He did say sorry but I did make it a point to tell him his lost.. not mine. The thing is, We have a diesel so it would have been a easy $50 oil change for them. Too bad now someone else will get my business!

Taking kids to school and a belt flew off my car, smoke went everywhere, air conditioning died and power steering died. Dropped the kids off with a smoking car that had no power steering. I was embarrassed and angry. I had to pick up my little one in less than two hours and knew I had to get the car fixed right away. I called Sun Devil Auto and I was just one of those angry people on the phone, I was fairly rude to the guy and pushy on the timeline. The dude that answered the phone assured me it would be okay, he would order the parts needed before I even GOT THERE! I showed up a few minutes later, he already had the parts ready to go. Based on my timeline they bumped my car in front, got it fixed and the cost was way less than I anticipated. At no time did I feel like they were trying to upsell me, or tell me more things were wrong, they simply fixed the problem., On TIME and under budget. Seriously, I hate mechanic shops, I always feel nervous discussing things I dont know anything about. These guys took me in the garage, showed me the issue and how to fix it. I will be going back to this shop forever. I was so angry about the car but they just walked me through it. I dont remember the guy’s name but thanks dude!!

This is hands down the worst service I have ever received! We had our starter and ignition switch replaced on 08/17/17 and when we went to pick the car up, it didnt even make it out of the parking lot.... my girlfriend started the vehicle and the starter would not disengage!! When she tried to shut off the vehicle it wouldnt shut off! She ran inside to let them know is was making a horrible noise, she was told "No its not, I just drove it" by what we are assuming was a manager but not exactly sure. By the time the staff came out the car was smoking badly about to catch fire because its been running this whole time with the starter engaged. One of the employee’s asked for a fire extinguisher but one was never brought out!! The car finally died ,but my positive battery cable was burned up from the starter not disengaging. Whoever this employee was (sorry I never got his name because I was so pissed) was completely condescending towards my girlfriend and myself!! He tried blaming my now burned up positive battery cable. Oh yeah and all this after they charged us a frigging thousand dollars to replace a starter and an ignition switch... This place is an absolute rip off!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION!!!

They dont do what you ask them to do I have been in there a few times for various repairs and they have never been a great place for service. But this last time I went in for an oil change and tire rotation because thats included in the oil change package. I asked to make sure they would do it and they said of course. Went back to pick up my vehicle after and told them that they forgot to rotate my tires to which they responded the tech didnt feel it was necessary. So I dont know what kind of competency level their techs have but when someone like me who is not certified as a tech can notice that the front tires are much more worn then the back and need to be rotated and they cant when they are "certified" cant... well you get the picture.. even if that doesnt matter to you consider the fact that i asked them to do it for me and they didnt, horrible customer service, horrible work on your vehicle period, this was the last straw for me.

Its the second time visiting this particular shop, both very dissapointing. They tried to tell me I need $160 worth of lug nuts to do a free brake inspection... I knew they were full of S#!+ Right off the batt. All I got from these people were "I cant, I cant, and I cant..." I took my business to brakes plus and they were able to remove my lug nuts and place them back on no problem.. brake plus has never heard of such issue with "Swollen lug nuts"... It was the most stupid reason Ive ever heard of.. I also saw a man at the front counter that was way too obvious eye oogling a very young pregnant woman... Very creepy.. I wont go into the first time I came here... Today is the very last time I will ever come to this sun devil auto. My mechanic friend warned me that they were trying to rip me off, and I didnt need to buy their $160 Lugs... Ridiculous!!
