For any car guy that has a modified vehicle, we all know it isnt always easy to get a safety inspection done. Let alone a quality one. Based on other reviews, I thought that I would at least get a fair shot, but Lynn Wood Services didnt want to "take a chance" on my vehicle because of the heavy modifications done to it. Regardless of whether or not it could pass a safety inspection, they simply chose not to do it. I understand a shop has to be careful on passing or not passing a vehicle, but when they insult the builder (me) by ASSUMING that what Ive done to my car is unsafe, its quite offensive. When asked for examples of what they felt "unsafe", they showed how little they really looked over the vehicle. First, they assumed that my water/methanol-injection tank was the "fuel cell". Look closer. You would have seen that the pump from that tank was NOT going to any fuel rails of any kind. Youd have seen that it was a completely isolated system. Not connected in anyway to the factory gas tank (the actual fuel cell). Furthermore, I was told that the driveshaft was rubbing my exhaust. That is accurate when the car is supported by the frame on jackstands and the rear end housing is hanging. I wouldnt have been able to drive my car to their shop without hearing the driveshaft rubbing the exhaust, and youd see marks/scars from the contact if it were being driven while rubbing. Cars arent supported by the frame on jackstands when moving. Theyre on the ground, supported by the wheels/tires. Funny, when the car is on the ground, there is absolutely no rubbing of the driveshaft against the exhaust... not even close! I take a lot of pride in the work Ive done on my car. The car is SAFE. Far more safe than the majority of cars on the road. If an NHRA sanctioned racetrack lets me run it down the 1/4 mile in 10 seconds at 135 miles per hour, then its more than safe enough to drive around to car shows and car club meetings. Yes, there are 2 sides to this story, and again, I understand why a shop would be hesitant to pass a certain car, but to not even look at it? I dont want to be the reason that some shop loses their license to do business. Its offensive being told that something you built is a hazard to others. My car should have been given a chance at an honest safety inspection. That was all I wanted. It would have been a totally different scenario if they had just done the inspection (like I asked them to), told me what wouldnt pass, maybe even SHOWED me, let me pay them for their services and then let me fix it and try again. Instead they just told me that it was too "modified". Dont assume that the car isnt safe just because of ones desire to make it faster. The last few years Ive taken my car to be inspected by a Jiffy Lube, and its never had an issue being passed. A comment was made by a staff member at Lynn Wood Services that Jiffy Lube hires "idiots" and thats why my car passed inspection there. My whole reasoning behind going to Lynn Wood Services was because I WANTED a quality safety inspection. I WANTED to take my business to a local shop instead of the Jiffy Lube that was outside of Layton. I understand Jiffy Lube may not staff the smartest technicians, but they would at least go through the checklist of safety inspection items and give my car a chance. Lynn Wood Services refused to do that simply because of "first impressions" on what the car looked like. I apologize to Lynn Wood Services and the staff for showing how upset I was in the way that I did. It was uncalled for, and I should have just left and took my business elsewhere. However, not giving a guy a fair shake because his love for making a car "his own" is extremely upsetting. I trust that Lynn Wood Services does quality repair, and good work; so dont let my review sway you from trusting they provide good technical services. Im not giving a 1-star review because I do trust that they do good work... when they are WILLING. lm simply letting all those other "fast car" guys that need a safety inspection done to look elsewhere.

I had a strange sound coming from my car while passing through Salt Lake and decided I ought to have someone look at it. This goodyear was the closest auto place and I am so thankful we went there! Not only did they have wifi, which came in very handy while being on a road trip and without wifi a good bit of time, but they were SO kind and helpful! It turned out that I needed a new wheel bearing, a fairly expensive fix for something small. Kameron made sure to find me the best deal possible and did extra searching around to make sure I wasnt paying too much. Unfortunately, they had a lot of cars already in the shop that day and scheduled for the next afternoon, so I wouldnt be able to get in right away. We needed to be on the road again as soon as possible and so Kameron called around and found out that the Les Schwabb nearby was able to get me in early the next morning. I called and got an estimate for this repair from Les Schwabb and it was way over what Goodyear had estimated. I talked to Kameron again and he called the folks over at LS and helped them find the less expensive part and lower the estimate they had given me. I have never encountered such a friendly, helpful, understanding and kind auto man. Even though I had to take my business elsewhere due to time constraints, Kameron went above and beyond to help me out while I was in a crunch. I really, really wish I could have given my business to them! I highly recommend this shop and will remain very grateful for all of their help. THANK YOU!!!

Kam and the folks at Lynn Wood in Layton went above and beyond!! My daughter was having a tough week. Lost her best friend, was running around helping with memorial arrangements and was just generally stressed out and very sad. To top it off, she called and said she was having a tire problems and didnt know what to do. I called Lynn Wood in Clinton and they said theyd be happy to help but to call Kam in Layton because he was closer to where she was and she needed to get somewhere quick. I explained the situation to Kam and just asked him if he could take care of my stressed out, bad-week-having daughter. He asked her name and said he would. She called me later and was in tears about how kindly she had been treated by Kam and his folks and how they had helped her out quickly and efficiently. She was over-whelmed by their compassion and professionalism. Thank to Kam and everyone at Lynn Wood!

My husband, now deceased a year, used to go to Lynn Wood Services Center for as long as I can remember. Whenever we took a vehicle problem to them, no matter what the problem was, it was corrected. We have never gone awry by using Lynn Wood Service Center. So, when I finally got my head out of the sand and realized Lynn Miller(my husband) would have taken the car in for lots of reasons, whether it was having the tires rotated, to having the oil changed, or getting it ready for inspection I gave Lynn Woods a call and made an appointment. It was a natural call to make and soooo easy. I have complete faith in Lynn Wood and his crew to do the right thing. If you have never used their service, I for one, a Woman, would recommend them.
