I write this review in the hopes that others who are less knowledgeable about cars wont get taken for a ride. A cylinder on my car wasnt firing so I decided to change the spark plugs and wires hoping for a quick fix. This still didnt fix it. Well, I had taken it to this place before on a friends recommendation and they seemed decent. Now I really wonder if I payed too much for previous repairs looking back on it. Anyway, I drove my car over to the place since it is relatively close and a few hours later they told me the problem is spark plugs and wires. Ummm, ok. They said it would be around 200 dollars and I told them I had just replaced those and if it was really what they said then I would do it myself and take the faulty plugs back. Now I know the guy looked at my spark plugs because he knew what brand they were and claimed they were prone to breaking down easily. On the off chance something was going wrong I did my due diligence which I shouldve done the first time and checked for an actual physical spark by holding the plug to ground once the car was started. What do you know the spark plug worked fine. Hmmmm...thats odd. After searching the internet and various forums I found an easy way to check the fuel injector. Apparently, you can put a screwdriver on a fuel injector and then listen for the clicking sound of the solenoid. No clicking. The next thing I did was to build what is known as a noid light and checked for an injector pulse. No injector pulse. Checking for continuity to ground and power...yep. What does that leave? The powertrain control module which is the "brains" of the car. Im pretty sure they checked all of these things because the connector to the cylinder that wasnt firing was cleaned and the others werent. Very obvious on an old car. At least these guys only got $50 for the diagnostic. Then again, they also got this very bad review. Hopefully, they will change their ways if these reviews start piling up. Now, you may ask if you can do this all yourself why did you take it to a mechanic? Because I thought these people were fairly honest and would tell me whats wrong. Also, most of this I learned as I went so it did take me a couple of days to really figure out what was going on.

I just picked up my Jeep today, I had them doing quite a bit of work and normally it is work that I would do myself but I have been very busy. They do a very good job, however today they did $300 dollars worth of extra work without speaking to me first. I would have been fine with it had they called me and spoke with me beforehand and since he called me about doing an extra sixty or so dollars of work already youd think he would have called but they didnt. And like I said its work I can normally do myself so I know how much it REALLY costs. Then they tried to tell me that because of this that they had done my serpentine belt for their cost of the belt, well I can get the same belt for less than half the price so... you decide. To be fair after I brought this up and Ryan could see I was upset about these things he gave me the belt for free. They also broke my cupholder and didnt tell me, but fixed it sufficiently upon my complaint. Overall I am happy with the prices they charge and their thoroughness. But I will be much more explicit IF I go to them again.

Ive been going to Little Garage for 8 years now. I keep coming back because they are fair, honest, reliable, professional, and they do great work! One time I took my car to another shop for an alignment and that shop went through my car, without my permission, and told me that it needed over $2000 in additional repairs. I took it back to Little Garage and they looked over everything mentioned by the other shop. They gave me an honest assessment and told me that many of the "problems" did not need to be fixed and when they did need to be fixed, would cost much less than what the other shop quoted. My $2000 in repairs ended up costing me nothing and my car has not had any issues for a year. I am a Little Garage customer for life.

A clean and well organized shop that gets the job done and stands behind their work. Needed my emergency brake cable fixed on my 1993 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab truck. They were prompt in assessing the job and giving me an estimate. Turned out to be a bit of a gnarly job because of the way the three old rusty cables worked together. Had to bring the truck back a second time to get it to work properly. They made it a priority, and got right on it. Very pleased with the results now. And that is important because I have a camper on the back end, and really want the brakes to hold on steep hills, and it does. Really appreciate a shop that stands 100% behind their work.

I had a car breakdown on July 3rd and had it towed to the little garage. They were very friendly but they said they wouldnt have time to fix it before the long weekend. I told them I would come pick it up.. When I arrived they had been able to diagnose that a sensor was bad. I told them i planned on doing the repair myself and they were friendly in offering advice. They even stayed late and offered to let me borrow some tools. Great guys! The price for the diagnostic was totally fair.

I had my daughter take her car to these guys and that was a big mistake .If your looking for a place that wont over charge , look somewhere else .I found a place down the street from them that did the work for half the price and great service , which saved me a lot of money .I highly recommend people to get get a couple of estimates on there car before having these guys do any work , because you will be paying more for work you could get somewhere else for a lot cheaper .

I just moved to SLC in August 2011, and I was worried about finding a good, honest shop and mechanic. But Little Garage has been wonderful. I had my timing belt replaced for $200 less than I was quoted at the Midas down the street. A few weeks later, I had something dragging below my car, and when I brought it to Little Garage, they fixed it and didnt charge me. Amazing! Theyre also timely and kind, and I highly highly recommend them for any car need.

Ryan and his team do excellent work. They make it cost effective without cutting corners, always explaining the work, the extent of the work, the consequences if it doesnt get done. Theyve saved me money when I went to a tire shop that told me I need a ton of work done. Took it to Ryan to get a second opinion and he told me what did and didnt need to be done on their list, and why. I frequently recommend the Little Garage to friends and coworkers.
