This review is not indicative of Sun Devil Auto as a company and not even the guys working there. Ive spent over $3,000 at various locations over the past 3 years, but will never go back to this location and will likely limit any future visits to warranty work at other locations. I went in to have my brakes looked at due to a grinding noise. They are warrantied via Sun Devil Auto. As always the guys got my van in quickly (even though they were busy), tinkered a bit, and sent me on my way. This is the customer service Ive grown accustomed to. I noticed my passenger-side door handle was broken later that day. The only person who had exited it was the mechanic when I was driving the van to demonstrate the noise. I called, let them know about the issue, and the same guy Id talked to earlier in the day said bring it back in and well look at it. I went back in and he, again, tinkered with it and told me it would take a while to fix; and told me to bring it back Friday. Today I brought it back in and Dave (Hyland I believe is his last name), the manager, came out of the building as the tech was looking at the handle and accused me of trying to scam them. I recorded the entire conversation. He said "you cant just come back days later and say we broke your door handle and demand we fix it." He said the van is old and were not liable for it. When I informed him I brought it back the same day and they would have fixed it that day had I not had other obligations he said he would have fired the technician(s) if they fixed it for free. Again this is all on tape and it will be published online. There was no way to have a conversation with this guy after he accused me of trying to scam them despite records of me spending $3,000 there in 3 years. I even had an appointment to get my 36,000 mile transmission service done tomorrow (another $150-$200, but obviously I will not be doing that now. This Dave character does not fit the company culture of Sun Devil that Ive grown to know over three years: empathetic, good listeners, good workers; explain things you dont understand, stand behind their work, etc. They may be a bit overpriced, but they always stand by their work, of course except this situation. It was just a humiliating experience all together and this guy should not be a manager for any Sun Devil location. Dave does not fit the high-level customer service of the overall culture. ***EDIT*** Though my plan was to simply let this whole situation go after the weekend, the Sun Devil Auto manager referenced above (Hyland) called my workplace and told them I tried to "fight" him in a retaliatory attempt to get me fired, take down the review, and/or apologize to him; none of which happened nor will happen. Ive never heard of a store manager from a company harass and threaten a customer at their workplace; and actually believe this could be unprecedented. Therefore the next step is 1) exploration of legal action and 2) potentially filing a police report. The same review and info was posted on Yelp, but that forum filters reviews based on how much respective companys pay them to look good. Here is the audio of Hyland threatening to fire his employees for doing good customer service. https://youtu.be/MjMJRRGY5Co To all future Sun Devil customers: make sure if you had a bad experience and let the public know that you are prepared for the offending party to harass and threaten you further at work, home or anywhere else in your personal lives. This has now turned into a scary situation, but will be handled accordingly.

Friendly staff greeted me. Showed me the filter that should be replaced and let it be my decision. Price for the service was equal to the value received. The staff even offered me a slice of pizza since it was lunch time and they had just received a pizza delivery. Overheard a few phone calls during my wait. Even before the potential customer brought their vehicle in the staff full explained all the options along with pricing estimates to include the potential pitfalls one must consider based upon the age and mileage of the vehicle. This was valuable information that was offered up freely before the person on the phone was even a customer. It is difficult to understand where some of the negative comments for the various auto service shops in the area that I have read. If you dont do preventive maintenance items, you will pay for it in the long run. People call these things "up sells" and claim that auto-shops just "nickel and dime you", but in reality they are additional services offered by the location that is servicing your vehicle that will pro-long the life of your investment. They dont use scare tactics either. It is plain and simple truth. If you dont replace it now, it could make things much worse later. We live in Arizona. There are dust storms all the time. Replace your filters!! Dont make the vehicle work harder because you want to save $20 bucks. Regarding the anonymous reviews by "a google user" those people were not signed in to their google profile so it just puts "a google user". There is nothing sketchy going on. I am not affiliated with any auto-stores. Ill be bringing all of my vehicles here, even though it is farther from home than other locations.

August 11, 2015 was my third amazingly positive experience with Sun Devil Auto and specifically dealt with David Hyland, service manager... I was so impressed with the caring and competence shown by all with some serious repair work, like replacing a radiator, tires, and so on; it has restored my confidence in the auto repair industry, which I normally compare to going to the dentist, expensive and painful, but necessary. David went above and beyond the call of duty (ABCD) in so many ways. Loved the communication and texting back and forth was another service provided. On another occasion, David arranged for me to receive top quality service at another Sun Devil location, where I happened to be close to at the time I needed service. Wow, what a team! You can trust this shop. David and his team will creatively go out of their way to help make the whole repair experience as comfortable and stress-free as can be. If youve never been here before, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. Nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Called 43rd and t-bird 8:20 am wed.4/1/15. asked for a price to replace some belts on my kia. Gentleman asked my last name, then confirmed first name and phone. Quoted $97.00 for two belts and $30.00 additional if third was needed. I made appointment when daughter arrived they had no record of appointment and no record of me in the system(so they say, weird).daughter called me, gave phone to staff I confirmed phone number i called earlier and price quote. was called 2 hours later and was told belts needed replacing and was given a price of $332.00. (The dealer charges $200.00.) Was told this is a max 1 hr job $100.00 labor $232.00 for the belts (approximate) Needless to say I tried talking to the staff only to have them tell me how special the belts they use are. After looking them up, the only thing special was the price they wanted to charge. I WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE.
