I just had my first experience with Kirkbride. They are very friendly, engaging and seem to be very knowledgeable. My service: 1989 Ramcharger. I thought it was leaking oil because of a spot under it on my driveway, and there was dripping from the oil pan. The motor itself was pretty oily as well. It was making some lifter noise when first started after sitting for awhile, and the oil pressure gauge read quite low all the time. During our first phone conversation, I mentioned the lifter noise and the oil leak concern. It also needed safety and emisions and an oil/filter change. When I took it in, there was a form to fill out detailing the specific service I wanted done. A very nice and helpful girl was there and walked me through the form. In the process of that, I forgot to mention the lifter noise and oil pressure concern. I had them road test and check the steering because the weight of the snowplow mounted on front makes if feel a little squirrelly. I also told them that "If you notice anything else..." When I got it back I was given the good news that the steering was good, the tranny was good, and overall condition was good, and that there were no oil leaks. I didnt know what all the oil on the outside of the motor was that I see, but I didnt argue. The next week, I took the vehicle out the the hydraulic experts for a plow issue. I took the freeway for about 10 miles. When I got to the stop light and the bottom of the off ramp, the oil pressure warning light came on and the gauge went to 0. I continued about a mile to my destination and dropped it off with the intention of taking it back to Kirkbride the week after to check it out. I called Kirkbride to tell them of my dilemma. The mechanic I talked to said they had noticed the low indication on the oil gauge when they drove it and that when I bring it back they will check the oil sender and see if its leaking. Im thinking to myself: "Why didnt you check that out when you had it there, and didnt you already check for oil leaks?" I took it there with oil system concerns. Even though I didnt specifically tell them I was noticing a low oil pressure reading on the gauge, why wouldnt a mechanic investigate that when he/she noticed it? I had it there to do a pretty extensive check up. I did tell them when I dropped it off the first time that if they "noticed anything else..." Okay, having said all that: I am dissapointed that the oil pressure issue wasnt investigated and taken care of when they noticed it the first time. Thats why I took it to a mechanic in the first place. BUT I still feel like I like them. I will have a discussion about the above and post it back here if I remember. I will try. I want to build a lasting relationship with a shop close to my house. This one feels very good to me and I hope I can post a positive follow up to this post.

I have been using them for about a year. I was so pleased with the services and the owner. I never second guessed their work or services. Whatever he told me, I paid it. My last service from him was my transmission. He saw it was $930. I didnt question it but money was tight so I checked it online for the labor and parts and few other places. THEN I found out I was GROSSLY overcharged. He explained I was paying for his expenses to run his business in the surcharge. I was SO hurt. Being a woman, we usually get charged out of the butt for things we dont need, but I trusted the owner. Needless to say I never went back and wont go back. I asked for a partial refund, needless to say I was denied. Please check your labor online.

Charlie went out of his way to provide us with the best service Ive ever experienced at a repair shop. He even mailed us some very important documents we forgot in the car. Ive never left one of these places feeling like I had reunited with family until now.. if you need repairs in Utah this is the place to go!

I recently got an estimate for repairs on my vehicles and the parts prices were way overpriced for what you can get the parts at any automotive store, at least 60% higher. I will not be having any of my vehicles serviced here, and I would not recommend them to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

Worst ever. If you have anything that is remotely hard to do on your car, they take your car for 2 days look at it through their office window and then call and say they dont want to work in it. I wouldnt even suggest an oil change here.

Fast, friendly, actually care about your car. Have even recommended against repairs and saved us money when they could have run up the cost like most shops.
