I have never had such a terrible experience at any car repair shop. I was lied to and nearly scammed out of $2500. I needed some work done quickly on my car and they were the only place open on Sunday. They told me they may be able to get it done that day, if not first thing Monday, which would have been great as I was trying to get out of town. My car was in at 11AM on Sunday and wasnt finished until 5PM Monday. I later found out that the job I needed done was a 2-3 hour job. I understand that things happen, and jobs end up taking longer than anticipated, but they took almost a full day longer than I was told, which means they had no intention of getting my car finished Sunday or Monday morning, and I was flat out lied to. Worse yet, as my car was in need of Safety and Emissions testing soon, they took the liberty of telling me a bucket list of things that "needed to be done before (my) car would pass inspection". The total of these things was almost $2500. I had them complete the job that I had asked them to do (which ended up being close to $100 more than I was quoted), and no more. I soon after took my car to another repair shop for testing and my car passed inspection, with no additional repairs, with flying colors. This sorry excuse for a repair shop is incompetent at best, and a downright scam at worst. Ill let you be the judge. Under NO circumstances should you ever subject yourself or your vehicle to such a miserable business. The owner seems to be pretty active at responding to some of these reviews, so before you get in here, Ill tell you how you can make it right. You can refund me my $100 I paid that was over the quoted price of the original job, and perform the $2500 worth of "repairs" at no cost to me. As you essentially tried to scam me, I think its only fair that you pay the cost I would have had to pay, had I agreed to the "repairs".

I had purchased my Vehicle (Toyota Rava4) at the end of December 2013 from Larry H. Miller Toyota in Murray (who I would NEVER recommend purchasing anything from), and had nothing but problems with it!!!! :( I had taken it back to Larry H. Miller Toyota, due to the fact they sold me a CERTIFIED vehicle with an extended warranty that had nothing but ongoing problems, regarding my alignment and parts that had affected the alignment. PEP BOYS in Murray Utah, are extremely professional, efficient and truly cared about my safety with the problems that were presented to them. Thank goodness for "MATT" whos the service manager for Pep Boys in Murray and has 15 years of being a specialist with Chrysler. He professionally diagnosed the problem after looking at the unethical initial report that Larry H. Miller Toyota gave me and wasnt even the problem that was stated in the initial report by Larry H. Miller. For that reason and the efficient review of what the problem really was… Saved me hundreds of dollars and reoccurring issues with my vehicle!!! The caring and professional nature of MATT and his team has utterly sold me in being an honorable customer with Pep Boys in Murray forever and ever!!! I have not had further issues with my alignment nor the wearing of my tires after having my vehicle fixed by MATT and his team at Pep Boys in Murray!!! :) MATT has even followed up with phone calls to make sure the issue was resolved. Thank You, Thank You and Thank You!!! -Laura Richmond (an honorable and forever customer)

Every time I have come here its been a vile experience. The first time brought it in to run diagnostic cost 89.99 then after asked me for more money to run a "better diagnostic". Brought it in Saturday, told it would be done Sunday. Received no call all day, called with 10 mins left of their store hours to them checking for 9 mins then telling me they would need it another day, grabbed in the afternoon on Monday. Because no one had touched it since I brought it in Saturday said the tech. As I was getting ready to leave, I was sitting in my car sending a few texts when a technician ran up to my car telling me that they forgot to put something back on. It was my tire plate, very encouraging. It also managed to take them a whole day to change a tire on my car another time I brought it in. Today I needed a reservoir for my wipper fluid. Turns out apparently the part is discountined, rather than have them wait and order the unit and pay more. I decided to get it myself. I bring in one at my scheduled appointment time 30 mins later they decided this one wont work, I go to another shop, get basically the same thing and come in and saay they wont be able to work on it till tomorrow. What a beautiful waste of time. If I had another shop that could do this installation I would never come back!

Awful experience, and terrible customer service. Yesterday, we took our van in to get a battery changed. They did check the starter and alternater, which is good, but then chose the wrong battery, and didnt realize it until it was already in place. Not terrible. The brakes were making funny noises, and they told us the rotors needed some service, which would cost $40. We go back in today, and they said it would take up to 45 minutes. After waiting for two hours, watching them eat pizza and mess around, my wife indicated that she needed to leave, so they quickly removed the wheels and fixed the problem in about 15 minutes. They then charged her $95, saying that it took an hour of labor. They hadnt even removed the wheels until 15 minutes before! They said they had explained the cost all before, which they hadnt, and continued to argue with my wife until she finally agreed to pay. Never again will we visit ANY Pep Boys, and we will urge everyone else to stay away! They were rude, unprofessional and argumentative, and do not complete work in the time provided, besides overcharging for their time!

I went in to have my tires rotated. The girl at the front desk didnt seem to understand what that meant and she asked me where my spare was that I wanted them to put on. This is when I probably should have grabbed my keys and drove away. When I was finally able to talk to someone that knew what a "tire rotation" was they told me I needed an alignment because one of my tires was wearing badly. They do an alignment check and said it really wouldnt fix anything but the manager would still recommend doing the full alignment. Shell out $90 for an alignment thats not going to fix anything?? No thanks. So after waiting for over 2 hours on an early Thursday afternoon all they did was rotate 2 of my tires and they couldnt give me a reason one of my tires was wearing out. I mentioned that it was probably a faulty tire and should be covered under the warranty but they didnt want to hear about that. This place is a funny farm, walk in and you will know what Im talking about. I will never buy another tire or service from this location. They wasted my time and I will never go back.
