Ive been to mechanics all over the country in my travels, and worked in a few shops as well, and by far, this is the best one Ive found in America. Story time! Last year, I ran into some bad luck and wound up stranded in Utah with some serious rear end axle problems, stemming from a blown axle seal and bad bearing noise, 1200 miles from home. I called about 15 different shops all over the Utah Valley area from Ephraim to Orem getting quotes on how much it would run me to get the seal fixed. Dave (the owner) answered, and was exceptionally friendly and professional. He was the only one out of all the shops I called that gave me a straight and honest answer. "I cant tell you how much it will cost until I see it. It could be a seal, it could be a bad rear end. I wont know until I see it." He stood out the most. I told him Id call him back, called 2 more shops, got quotes, called Dave back and asked if he could get it in that day, to which he said yes. So we drove up, trailer in tow and arrived at his shop. The hardest thing when youre out of town is finding and honest mechanic who also knows what hes doing. It was immediately apparent that him and everyone in his shop definitely exceeded in both of those areas. You know a good mechanic when they have a window that allows you to see them work from the waiting room. So I watched them pull my sad F150 into the bay, and they began diagnosing it. Immediately it was apparent I was at the right shop. They took a stehiscope to my rear axle and began the diagnosis procedure, which was absolutely to the books. Shortly after they confirmed the issue, I watched him and his tech take apart my entire rear end and pulled the axle and the bearing in about 15 minutes flat, textbook protocol, everything they did was to the books. Every specialty tool required for the job was organized and available, and they moved through the process with incredible precision and finesse. Him and his tech both worked extremely well together. Shortly after they informed me of the bad news, the bad bearing had chewed through the axle and it was outside of tolerances. Not only did he tell me, he showed me, another trait of an honest and knowledgable mechanic. He pulled some strings, and stayed late for us, since we were already way behind schedule to get home and low on funds. Once he had the parts he had the truck back together as quickly as it came apart, and we were on our way. Despite staying late, he charged honest rates according to shop hours that coincide with ASE guidelines (IE, he had very honest and reasonable rates for how exceptionally professional they were). Ive since called him for advice on certain problems since, and hes had an incredible way of helping even if it doesnt pay, and I continue to trust him more than I trust my own mechanics in Chicago. Dave and everyone at DJs auto that Ive ever felt with are amongst the best you can find. If youve got a car that needs work, and youre looking for a the most honest, professional and knowledgeable mechanics in Utah Valley, youve found your shop. Theyll do the work right, wont bend you over the barrel price wise either. I cant say enough good things about this shop!

Moving here out of state, you look for honest reliable people to help you with the normal services that everyone needs! Over a week ago, I called DJ Auto to see if they could help with an interior problem that I needed to have repaired in our Suburban. They were unable to help me, but was sure to refer me to a company that could (love that help!). During that conversation Dave mentioned all of the services they do offer. At that time my husband was considering a vehicle. Dave said bring it in and no charge to you we will do a full inspection and look for everything that could possibly be wrong with it. So we took him up on his offer! And were amazed at the detail and thorough inspection the vehicle received. We appreciated a 3rd party checking it out and giving it a solid thumbs up. Because of those 2 experiences - I went back today to have the oil changed in our Suburban. While it was in the shop they did an inspection to make sure that all recalled maintenance had been performed and reviewed it for any preventative maintenance. Although the suburban got a good overall report, Dave needed us to make some changes to the gas we used, and the oil. He also found an unknown AC problem. They changed the oil, performed preventative maintenance on the AC and helped me with 3 other small problems that I didnt even think about pointing out to them. They just did it without being asked - they identified them and resolved them. AMAZING! To us - that is ABSOLUTELY the best customer service we have EVER experienced with an Auto shop. The pricing was very fair and competitive. And the review of the vehicle was honest and spot on! Sometimes, those things are lacking in other auto shops. In addition to those things -the shop was SPOTLESS - I mean SPOTLESS. The waiting room was clean and organized. And best of all the bathroom was clean! It did not have an auto shop smell - like MANY others do! I can compare this experience to the one I just had with a local Chevy Dealership for my Suburban - and it does not compare AT ALL. Hands down, we will continue our friendship with DJ Auto and our vehicles will be serviced and maintained by his crew - even when we move out of the Provo area in a few weeks. It will be well worth the drive for the service, pricing and peace of mind. We will refer anyone we can to DJ Auto. No one will regret working with them! Very glad that we made that call and Dave answered!

I have gone to DJ Auto for a number of years, and I never write reviews but DJ Auto has been so good to me that I have to. When I first went there I had bought a car for $500 and knew nothing about cars. I was ecstatic to find that Dave was not like other mechanics that I had met before. He did not prey on the ignorance of people to make a quick buck, but what set him apart was the fact that he always taught me what was wrong with my car. That way I could make an informed decision. With Daves help my car ran awesome for two years and I eventually sold the thing for $1200. DJ Auto took that good of care of my car. This year I moved back to Utah after having left for a couple of years and I went straight to DJ Auto for my mechanic needs. I had a lemon of a car that I had brought from out east, and I had gone to several mechanics out there and was so frustrated that they were all saying different things and they all wanted more and more of my money. I was so relieved when I came back to Provo and could ask Dave about it. He told me everything that was wrong with it, and assessed that he could do all the work and he could make a lot of money off of it, but it would not be in my best interest. I decided to sell the car and I bought one from him instead. That car has been running like a pro and has not had any issues at all. When I need to buy another car, for my wife or whatever, I really want to buy one from there again. The experience was great. I do need to put a disclaimer in here though. DJ Auto mechanics are what I would call perfectionists. Their prices are a little higher than other mechanics but it is because they are SO dang thorough about everything they do. They will not let a car go with issues. So if you have a car that you want to squeek by and pay next to nothing to fix, DJ Auto may not be the place for you. I love them though, because I know that I can trust them and that if they do work on my car, I wont have to come see them again any time soon. They make cars last so it is absolutely worth the money.
