Cox Communications is literally the worst cable company that I have ever dealt with. I downgraded my cable service on 9/19 to the most basic service due to the $30 increase in my bill. Since then my cable has been out. However, thats not even the only issue. First, after being told that I would be charged a prorated amount, they went ahead and still charged the full amount. When I called to find out about that, they piled on more B.S. when they told me that my monthly bill was higher than what the representative originally quoted. Yesterday, on 9/21, a tech came out to try to fix the problem. After about an hour or so, he tells me that he has to go up the road and to call him if the cable box doesnt load in the next 20-30 minutes. I call him after the allotted time, but he doesnt answer....twice. I proceeded to call Cox and spoke with a tech that told me that she would forward my formal complaint, as well as have a tech come out today (9/22). Gave me ticket #s and everything. My spidey-sense started tingling because I never got the confirmation call. I call Cox again and I find out that the ticket was never generated! So I ask how to file a formal complaint, and after initially trying to pawn me off to the website (which has no option to file complaints), transfers me to "corporate". The quotes are because she transferred me to a line in California despite Cox being headquartered in Atlanta. The only reason that I even deal with this company is because it is the only one allowed in my complex. If I didnt need the internet for work, Id cancel them altogether and wash my hands completely of this farce of a company. I pray for the day when there will be independent internet providers again, and people wont be forced to go through these cable companies.

I been a Cox customer for 1 year and my father has been it for 4 years. I went in last year to get it under my name since my father had pass away last year. I had to pay the month I use which is fine. But they had a deal which sound great to me. I forgot the name of the person but he was nice. He say it was going be a one year contact for this promotion then I had to renewal it again next year. So I came in today to get other plan renewal but they said it was other year. I went in to get other plan since I dont use the HomeLife Security. They say it was going to cost $400 to downgraded it. I was never told of this. and I needed waited other year. So now Im struck. You have to pay rental for the equipment. With Direct TV it was included. So be careful. I have to wait now. Giving them one star since customer service needed to go over contract with clients, internet is slow even tho I paying alot for it (paying the highest speed they offer), equipment rental is alot, and the promotion included house phone (I dont need so thats why I got Homelife Security), and when they install my security I had to pay extra $70 up front and was not awared of it. There is a law in Fairfax county that you need register security camera -.-! If you didnt give the $70 up front no installation which is dumb. They dont have other plan if you existing client so be careful.

I have had Cox for 2 months now. They are horrible. 1. Expensive-In line with other providers but their packages are much more confusing and almost purposefully so. 2. Horrible technology. Their programme guide is incredibly difficult to use. It is slow, the graphics are horrible, and the interface is cumbersome. 3. Channels dont actually appear. For example, sometimes i get the travel channel other times I dont. This happens with many many channels. I cant tell you how much I love paying for channels that dont come in. 3.5 Many channels that are supposed to HD do not appear in HD. HD channels seem to be particularly suceptible to coxs dreaded "check back later" grey screen of disappointment. 4. Their internet service is SLOW!! Compare download speeds and then compare rates. Their internet service is much slower than the competition and just as expensive. On the good side their customer service is ok. I usually get to talk to someone within a few minutes of entering their phone tree. Overall, I kinda hate Cox. This is exacerbated by the fact they have a monopoly and I have no choice but to use them or a sattelite service. It must be so awesome to get to run a business where you provide your customers an outdated expensive product that they have no choice but to buy. If you have an option dont use Cox.

I am so disgusted with this company. A few days before I moved out of my apartment I called the Cox Customer Service to tell them I was moving and needed to disconnect my services. The support representative told me to bring all of my equipment EXCEPT the mini box. The representative told me that because of the arrangements with my condominium that I should leave the mini box there. I get to this store and the employee told me that Im going to be charged for not bringing it in. And when I explained to him what the other service representative told me, he just shook his head and said that she shouldnt have said that and it doesnt matter and Im going to be charged anyway. Really?? Talk about TERRIBLE customer service. He gave me a receipt for the other materials dropped off and waived me off like some annoying fly. This is a very bad company with poor taste. If you can avoid them, use someone else.

Terrible experience switched from FIOS because FIOS does not want to give you a break with pricing after contract and here you GO COX is terrible service at first the tech comes half hour late and then wastes time trying to find the boxes etc; apparently he is new .. then at 430 still internet is not working I call COX and they say I dont know why you are calling us because we are only sales???? excuse me how was I suppose to know who your service manager is? or that number? and then he has the nerve to say I cant help you ... you need to work it out with the service supervisor I am only sales.... really???? terrible I ask the tech can you re hook the fios back he does not know how to re hook what he unhooked .;.. you have got to be kidding me ! not even passed through day one. Oh by the way Supervisor cant make it over here tonight. it has to be tomorrow and I have to take another day off.

I have to say that Cox internet and cable is crappy service. My internet is slow and cant hold a steady connection. Its the worse service ever and I highly recommend to anyone who has Cox to cancel. I say this because me an my girlfriend have Cox and we use the internet to stream movies and TV shows. Now when we try to stream our favorite movies and TV shows, our connection keeps going out so it makes our streaming devises slow and they lag. If Cox doesnt step their game up, we are going to cancel our cable and internet connection through Cox. Also going to switch to Verizon FiOS which I know for a fact has high speed internet. I say again, anyone who has Cox internet and cable, I highly recommend cancelling and switching providers. In regards to Cox company, Im going to continue to leave bad reviews on Google, the Cox website, and all media websites.
