Nice place, clean and modern, nice people. HOWEVER the sign on the front of the place says "ONE MONTH FREE" and in small print "see manager for details". After selecting a 5X5 unit that I thought that I was going to get one month free, i was only given a HALF MONTH FREE. Upon contacting one of the managers LuAnne (very nice by the way) she told me that on the sign there was "fine print" and to see the manager for details and the unit I got did not qualify. I asked LuAnne if she would honor giving me a full month and not a half month for free, she refused and again, referred me to the "fine print". Also, BEWARE that Extra Storage Space requires that you bring in proof that your homeowners insurance covers your property in their space. I did not bring in my insurance verification until the next day after signing up for a space, I was told that the $10 that ExtraStorageSpace charged me for their insurance was not refundable. So beware that you 1) Read the fine print 2) Bring in your proof of insurance coverage to avoid the "fine print" trap.

This place is phenomenal.I researched numerous places and Extra Space Storage was the safest, cleanest, and most economical. Additionally, the manager was extremely knowledgable and personable. I went to the other two storage facilities in the immediate area as well, but I was most impressed with Extra Space Storage. When I walked in, another long-time customer was there and she raved about how the staff takes the time to know the customers needs. I had never used a storage facility before so the manager took the time to explain everything to me, show me around, etc... as well as make sure that I wasnt choosing the incorrect unit for my needs. After going to the other facilities nearby, I was sure Extra Space was the best - the units and surrounding areas were clean, the main office was organized, the CCTVs were in excellent working order, and finally, the prices for the units were best compared to the other facilities. Im very happy with my decision and I happily recommend Extra Space Storage.

Phyllis, the manager, is a real trip - and a joy to work with. She has taken care of several issues for me. I have used this facility for several years and had several different units during that time, for both business and personal. It is very convenient for me to get to - right off of the Fairfax County Parkway. It seems like it is located in a very safe neighborhood. I orginally had many items in non-climate controlled units, but found that the temperature extremes during the seasons probably were not all that good for a few of my items, so I later upgraded to a climate-controlled unit for those items. The only negative thing that I can think of is that the prices have been raised several times in the past few years. So the question to ask yourself is - is it cost effective for me to store xxxxx at a cost of $9999 per year? For some of my items, I have decided it is no longer cost effective, so have begun donating them or selling them on Craigs List.

I contacted this facility less than 48 hrs before i needed it.. by the next day [the day before i needed the unit] i received a phone call from an employee verifying my request in addition to the email i got directly following my online request. he explained the unit, the check in my time, preferred 30 min before closing, as well as the rates [including the promotion price of free for the first month]. upon arriving, i filled out paperwork while my boyfriend went and looked at the unit to make sure everything would fit. he found that it was too small and we would need to up the size one more unit.. wasnt a problem and took no extra time. left the facility, verified the gate code, and left. havent had a problem.

There was a truck blocking the gate of the storage facility for about 10 minutes while i was waiting in my car. The truck driver told me that i should go ahead through. As i was in my storage place after unlocking it, some old man started yelling at me in my face saying that i broke into the facility and needed to leave. After i apologized and said i didnt know he still felt the need to yell at me. I dont care whether I was wrong or not no company treats their client like that. There is a facility across from them that is much better and cheaper and I have transferred all of my things. Dont go to this facility because they are stubborn and very mean.

Great experience at Extra Space Storage. The customer service was better than anywhere else that I looked, as were the units. Everything was clean and organized and made me feel like my things were secure. I did visit other places that were less expensive, though not by much, but Extra Space was better for multiple reasons. I have insurance for my things, it is a nice, clean facility, the hours are longer, and Raul was great. He held the unit I wanted for 3 weeks at the sale price so I could have it when I was ready. The whole process went to smoothly. Bonus- they have carts to help you move your stuff at every entrance to the indoor units!

This is the second time in less than 6 months that we needed to store household items at Extra Space Storage (Burke, VA). They are close, clean and friendly. Arrived on Wednesday, 11/11/2015 the first thing Shawn Minor asked was if I were a Veteran. I replied, "Yes". Shawn then thanked me for my service to our country (after returning from overseas in 1974, no one thanked me for my service). Id recommend this facility for your storage needs and I may even follow Shawns advice of perhaps making Extra Space Storage an investment option........well see. Exceptional and extraordinary service and cleanliness. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and took their time to understand ones needs. The facility is secure, well lit (inside and out), and is so clean (yes, inside and out) you could almost eat off the floors. Ive rented storage facilities before locally and in other states, and I can attest this is absolutely the best of the best. If you need a place to store that other stuff (as we all do) this is the place to store it - hands down. I can easily "tip-my-hat" for this facility and its service oriented staff. Five stars in all areas!!!!

Ive stored my personal items there for 2+ years and have been there perhaps 8 or 9 times, mostly in daylight hours but once or twice at dusk. The place is well-lighted and seems more secure than many other facilities I checked into. Phyllis (in ofc.) knows literally everything there is to know about how things work. The place units are always very clean. Each time Ive talked with office staff, Ive been left with the feeling that my billing will always be correct and my personal items will be safe there. Location: convenient to Burke, Springfield, Newington, & Lorton, Virginia.
