I picked up my clothes after one week and they looked exactly as they did when I dropped them off. All the stains were still visible. And to top it off, my clothes smelled like mothballs (not too big a deal, as I could easily let them air out). I returned the clothes to the cleaners for the second time on the Monday before Thanksgiving and pointed out the stains to the young lady at the counter. The young lady told me they wouldnt be ready until the NEXT Monday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Totally unacceptable! So she put a rush on the pieces and promised they would be back on Wednesday (day before Thanksgiving). I returned on Wednesday, and my clothes were nowhere to be found. After several minutes of me explaining what my clothes looked like and how I had already been there and discussed this earlier in the week, the ladies discovered that whatever company they send clothes to didnt deliver my clothes. They told me the place is closed until Monday, so they cant do anything until then. So there was no point in the "rush" order! They even had the audacity to offer me a "store credit" for my trouble. Like I really will be going back. I requested a refund and assured them I would no longer be a patron of their business.

Am awarding one of my rare 5-star ratings on Top Cleaners and Alterations. Anything that needs to be altered can be done here. Mens suits, womens skirts, jackets, pants, formal dresses and wedding dress! Very, very impressive. You dont need an appointment except for wedding dresses, just walk in and have a seat. The lady at the cash register will ask what you need done and you will go to a designated changing room. You exit the room and you will be attended. After that, You report back to the front desk and they will give you a due date to come back for your items. It is such a professional and efficient operation that you will leave positively impressed, as I am each time. The work is perfect and if it is not, you go back to have it re-done. We can not please or satisfy everyone. The staff are very friendly and easy to talk to. Prices are very reasonable, people may think they are expensive but they are not. Ive been to different alteration shops and I have compared prices. They have the work quality.

Horrid place. My husband is a US Sailor, who defends their very right to work and own a business. He took his uniform in to have the patches down on and was quoted a very small price. We have a baby and were very tight on money so we had only the amount that was needed in our pockets. My husband went to pick up his uniform, which by the way was two days before inspection, and they charged us an incredible price. Needless to say we didnt have that kind of money. We further investigated and my husband had told them that he needed the patches down on, and they decided to take it upon themselves and press his uniform and do alterations. We didnt want that and we told them that. Well they were extremely rude and started to ignore him. He asked for the manager and the lady stated she was the manager. My husband stormed out. They are known to not give the full price and they are known to screw military over. They will be reported to BBB and they will be hearing from his command. They wont be in business long.

On 6/03/14 I took my floor length gown to Top Cleaners. I asked the lady if she could make the gown into a dress that would come above the knee. This gown was $150, and I got it on sale for $40. She told me to try the dress on so she could see how short I needed the dress to be. I did as asked. She measured and CUT my dress in half without giving me a price. When I asked how much she would charge to alter it, I was told $45. I told her I could buy a new dress for $45 and I wasnt paying $45 for my dress to be fixed. She said Sorry, that I was supposed to ask first, but she had already cut the dress in half. I told her as a business owner she was supposed to tell me a price before she cut my dress in half. Not only did she ruin my dress, but she was rude and refused to do anything to fix the problem. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and am waiting to hear back. Stay away from this place.

I bought my wedding dress at a local bridal shop in Virginia Beach. The seamstress that actually worked there was not comfortable doing the intricate alterations I wanted done on my dress; so she referred me to Zeny at Top Cleaners and Alterations. She did an absolutely amazing job and I probably paid 1/2 of what the bridal shop would have charged me! My dress fit perfectly and was done in plenty of time. I have been back multiple times for a number of alterations; and even my husband has taken his suits there. Best alterations shop in Hampton Roads hands down!!

I would give less if I could. The service was rude upon pick up. My girlfriend had four pair of athletic shorts altered for her job and it was $74!!!!!! The shorts didnt even cost that much to begin with. She also had a bridesmaids dress altered and it came to less than that. PLEASE READ THIS.... do...not... bring your clothes here. On top of this, the day we were told to come pick them up they told us the clothes were not ready. We had to return the next day to pickup our items. Since we are not from the area this was a major inconvenience.

Awful! Their hours are supposed to be 8 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday. Tuesday evening I made a special trip over to pick up clothes and they were closed when I arrived around 6:50 pm. They were inside working and just looked at me and didnt open the door. This morning, I gave them another chance. Needed to drop off clothes before I went to work. I waited until 8:10 am and they had not yet opened. Terrible service and they just lost my business.

I dropped off 3 suits at top cleaners to be dry cleaned and pressed, 2 were brand new suits and 1 was older. All 3 suits had shrunk, wrinkled, and color had bleed through to the white pocket inner liner. All 3 suits were ruined. Its almost as if they stuck them in a washing machine and regular dryer. Over $1000 worth of suits completely ruined I will never take my suits there again. I now take my suits to sun cleaners on Cedar rd and they do a great job.

I used Tops cleaners and alterations for the alterations of my wedding dress. I had a very good experience with them. The staff are very friendly, professional, and have excellent seamstress. They took very good care of my dress and all of the alterations completed on the dress looks great. Im very pleased with how it fits. Great experience! I would use them again. Highly recommended.

My clothes were suppose to ready last Friday. I came to get my clothes yesterday (Monday) clothes were not ready. Told to come later. It is now Tuesday morning 8:15 am and I am sitting outside waiting because they are not open. Was suppose to open at 8am. This is my first time using this cleaners and last!
