We requested to have our mail held from January 5, 2017 thru January 17, 2017 and re-delivered. In the past eight years of living in Mechanicsville, this request was, for the most part, adhered to. But, in the last 3 years, the lack of efficiency and daily mail delivery has diminished. When we returned home on Sunday, January 16, 2017, there was mail and a package in our box. Because, Monday, January 17, 2017 was a Federal holiday, we expected our held mail to be delivered on January 18, 2017. IT WAS NOT! It was delivered some time on Wednesday, January 19, 2017. I left a note in the mailbox for the carrier. It, too, was left on top of all the JAMMED mail the carrier could stuff in. We DO NOT get our mail daily anymore and never know what time of day it will be there. We have even gone to the branch to speak with the supervisor, SHALISA SMITH, but with NO success. More people need to be hired and fire the ones that DO NOT know how to do their jobs! WE, ALSO, ARE GETTING MAIL THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO US. IT HAS THE NUMERIC NUMBERS OF THE STREET, BUT THE WRONG STREET, NOT EVEN IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD??

I wish I could give 0 stars. Went in at the end of the day, today to send out my husbands care packages. 1 from my mom and little siblings and one from myself and the little ones. The lady at the front desk told my mom that she was too late and wouldnt ship her package. She called me up, pretty much saying "hurry up" I walk up with both mine and my moms package. She said to me "Im not sending that one" point to my moms package. Went on to tell her "this is for my deployed husband" she had the audacity to tell me "Too bad, Im not sending it." WHO SAYS THAT?!

The post office itself is okay, but the mail delivery part of this post office is terrible! Ive ordered things online and if they are shipped via USPS. Then they will likely get shoved into the mailbox, sometimes ruining the item(s)!! Ive tried to talk with the post office delivery man, but he just says okay Ill try to do better, but does nothing! I wish they would train their employees to put a piece of mail that says "DO NOT BEND" on your front door step!!!

My worst experiences with the USPS have originated from this office... Letter carriers arriving at 11pm, without uniforms. Multiple lost packages. Packages left out in the yard/woods at my house. And always a busy signal when trying to contact this location via phone (wouldnt be surprised if they leave the phone off the hook)... All said, they are the unfortunate reason our USPS has a bad name.

HORRIBLE! The people working there are so rude and treat you like an idiot when you call them. I had a package "delivered to individual" at my address on Friday, NOBODY WAS HOME!! So my package is missing.Tried calling them and their line was busy until they closed. Still havent gotten in touch. Worst USPS facility ever.

This has got to be one of the most incompetent post offices in the country. It took about 10 days to begin forwarding of my mail. My neighbor saw that my mail box was running over and contacted me. Wouldnt you have thought that the carrier would been concerned? No, just keep jamming mail in the box. Pathetic!!

Called all day phones always busy , when u finally get someone they dont care tell you to call consumer affairs , flag on my mailbox been up for two days and no mail delivered yesterday dec2 2016 worst service ever they take phones off the hook if you need service go somewhere else

My mail in the neighborhood never came by yesterday they already had Monday off. I always get the neighbors mail I even get mail sometimes 8:30 pm Ive never seen such a messed up mail service its not dependable..
