I purchased a motherboard and RAM and had concerns that the motherboard was dead. After bringing my assembled computer back for them to check they unscrewed ONE screw to pull off the cover and realized that the graphics card was dead. The staff member proceeded to discuss the options he had for graphics cards and I decided to purchase one (even though they are more expensive than online competitors they are close once you factor in S&H). While ringing me up the manager came in (I assume from lunch) moved the computer to their PC repair space and told the employee that I needed to be charged for service labor of $20. I could understand if the employee mentioned this before beginning the work, if I wasnt intending to buy the product he recommended for $149 + tax, or if I hadnt just made $155.84 of computer hardware a couple of days before which this same manager had helped me with, I cant justify $20 for taking a case cover off with one screw. I only rate the store a 2 because of the non-manager staff and that over the years the store in Blacksburg has had superb service. If you plan on buying at a brick and mortar store to save on hassle look somewhere else. On the plus side they did allow me to return the products I had purchased and my computer parts from a competitor are schedule to arrive in 2 days and were $35.85 less. **The store on Williamson also has wonderful service.

A few months ago I took a computer in for help streamlining a Windows XP AHCI install. I am competent, and have been building and tweaking PCs since the 1990s, but I just could not find the right combination of floppy drive, BIOS settings, and install driver. The techs at PC Land had it all sorted out within a few hours, and my retro gaming box is still purring along happily. With the release of Windows 10 coming at the end of the month, I set aside one of my laptops as a test machine for the new OS. I purchased the fastest possible upgrade CPU for the 2 year-old HP Pavilion G7 and attempted to install it myself. I made it about half way into the swap before my eyes swelled shut due to the pollen tsunami we are having here in Roanoke. I dropped a pile of parts at PC Land, and a few hours later, I got a email telling me that the job was done. I received my HP laptop back, fully dusted, cleaned, a new AMD A10-4600M CPU, and ready for the Windows 10 install. All at an incredibly reasonable price that I would guess is about $100 less than the Geek Squad would have charged me. Dont waste your valuable time and money going elsewhere, because this is the place to go for PC service and support. There really is no better alternative.

On my Thirteenth birthday(21 years of age now) I bought a PC from the store on Williamson Road. After he took the time to ask me and my mother (The store manager whom is still there) we managed to rack up good price on a computer. Little did I know that the very same computer would last me for 7 years without the need of upgrading it. It was the most wonderful machine I have ever owned. Their customer service is by far the most friendly and helpful I have ever had with any place of business. They are honest, funny and good hard working people who will help you with every aspect of the process. I am very soon going to be purchasing another computer from the very same man at the very same store. If you need a computer that will last you for years to come and has everything you would want to offer. I implore you to talk to these people. If they cant offer a good price they will even tell you how to get it and will offer labor to help you with the assembly. You couldnt ask for a more enjoyable process. If you value your money and a high end pc, this is the place to go.

We used PC Land to repair several computers over the years. Both when they were on Williamson Road and Electric Rd. We also bought 5 different laptops from them. Until they closed the Williamson Road store and we had to deal with the Electric Rd location, they offered great service and reasonable prices. Our household has 2 people who work from home and it is very important to have up to date electronics. We also have a college student with electronic needs. We bought a computer for use by a college student but had to take it back several times to get what we had asked for originally. The final straw came when we bought a router that was defective. We told the "manager" "owner" that it kept cutting off after we had it for 10 days. He said we had 30 days to bring it back. We finally bought another router and attempted to return the faulty one, before 30 days had passed. We were informed that the return policy is 15 days. NO apology, NO attempt to make it right with a long term customer, NO customer service. PC Land will not get any more money from this household.

Edit: I am apparently now a disgruntled employee according to the owner, who responded to this post below, despite never working for his store. He thinks this because i have some insight into his business practices. No zach, i have never worked for you. i wasnt put up to writing this review, youre just not a very good store owner or manager. this store, and especially its management, by that i mean zach the owner, is awful. i personally have never had a good experience with this store due to him (well, actually the previous owner of the place was nice.). he has a "screw the customer" mentality and is unhelpful. i also know that he is terrible to his employees. not paying them on time, refusing to train them, and firing them because they dont know what to do, he simply expects them to know how he runs his business personally. DO NOT GO HERE.

Sold me a hard drive case that does not work. Their awful return policy does not extend past 3 days, even if you return in new condition with all the parts to it. Offered me a shitty deal which was a 25% restocking fee. THE THING IS BROKEN!!! 0% of the product worked, so I want 100% of my money back. Is that not customary? Not this 75% bullshit. Not to mention when I bought the actual case, the guy I talked to did not know his product, seemed in a hurry, and I couldnt hear him. These momos cant even run a solid customer service line, why should you trust them to fix your complicated laptop with all your info and passwords on it? AVOID THESE NUM NUTS! GO ELSEWHERE!

Bought a motherboard, cpu, gpu, and ram along with an OS a couple years ago for a gaming pc with the expectation of having to upgrade every year. I still have the same gaming pc and the new games dont bring down the fps at all. still thinking of upgrading but why? The service is amazing and the pc is just as fast and reliable as it has ever been. Whenever I think about how amazing this thing is, I am reminded of the people that sold it to me and built half of it. I no longer live in Virginia but i wish this place was everywhere. Would love to have stores all over to come in and look around, would be more friendly that browsing the web.
